Robert H. Peters

Robert Harlan Peters, 72, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at Hearthstone. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1425 N.E. Irving St., Suite 100, Portland, OR 97232-4201.

He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Stockton, Calif., and attended Stockton High School.

On June 24, 1946, in Stockton, he married Genevieve Wallace, who preceded him in death.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines.

Mr. Peters owned and operated AAMCO Transmission in Medford. He owned Tokay Bowl in Lodi, Calif., and also had worked for California Cedar Products and Valley Saw and Knife Works.

He was president of Rogue Valley Country Club and enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Plageman, Oakland, Calif., and Mary Keller, in Ontario, Canada; a brother, Melvin G., Stockton; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Anita W. Sorensen

Anita W. Sorensen, 81, of Medford, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. A private service is planned. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Anita Wallace on Jan. 26, 1917, in Altus, Okla.

On Aug. 13, 1973, in Phoenix, Ariz., she married Jens A. Sorensen, who died April 7, 1991. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973.

Mrs. Sorensen was a nurse's aide at the Eastern Star Retirement & Nursing Home in Phoenix, Ariz.

She enjoyed reading and watching television.

Survivors include a brother, Jack Wallace, Bakersfield, Calif.; and a sister, Joyce Burgess, Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Dinzel and Tuti Wallace; and three sisters, Faye Oldham, Jo Murl Meadows, and Jean Tacquard.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Della Taylor

The funeral for Della Taylor will be at 2 p.m. today in Perl Funeral Services Siskiyou Chapel, Medford. The Rev. Brendan McAnerney of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Taylor, 74, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Association of Oregon, 3330 N.W. Yeon, Portland, OR 97210.

She was born Della Romero on Jan. 22, 1924, in Aguilar, Colo.

She moved to Seattle in 1942, to Ashland in 1946, and to Medford in the early 1950s.

On Feb. 25, 1944, in Seattle, she married Robert A. Taylor, who died in June 24, 1994.

Mrs. Taylor was a nurse's aide for Sacred Heart Hospital from 1954 to 1963.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southern Oregon Society of Artists, and a sewing club. She enjoyed oil painting and, with her husband, danced with Star Promenaders in the 1960s.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda M. Taylor, McMinnville; a son, Robert L., Portland; three brothers, Arthur Romero, Pueblo, Colo., Ray Romero, Kansas City, Mo., and Jerry Romero, Cle Elum, Wash.; three sisters, Clara Sandoval, San Jose, Calif., Trinnie Montana, Raton, N.M., and Aurelia Conway, Trinidad, Colo.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Robert, and Tony Romero; and two sisters, Mary Jane Pagan and Beatrice Romero.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Shawn Michael PrinceShawn Michael Prince, 13, of Medford, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Audrey K. Walker

The memorial service for Audrey K. Walker will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Walker, 85, of Central Point, died Wednesday (March 25, 1998) at her home.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Chapel.

Mabel Janet Johnson

The memorial service for Mabel Janet Johnson will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the First Church of the Nazarene, Medford. Pastor Craig Rench will officiate.

Mrs. Johnson, 87, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at Horton Plaza.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Nazarene College Scholarship Fund, in care of First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews Road, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born March 7, 1911, in Camp Douglas, Wis., a daughter of Chris and Edna Scheel. The family moved to Medford in 1927 from Wisconsin.

On Dec. 24, 1948, in Medford, she married Joe W. Johnson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Johnson received a teaching certificate from Northwest Nazarene College. She taught all grades in schools in Emmett, Idaho, and in Phoenix and Grants Pass.

Mrs. Johnson and her husband spent their retirement years in the Prospect area. Avid horseback riders, they enjoyed trail riding.

Throughout her life, she was active in her church's musical activities. At age 86, she sang in the church senior choir which performed at other local churches. Mrs. Johnson also was a member of the Horton Plaza Choir.

Survivors include a brother, Loren Scheel, Phoenix; three sisters, Flora Hegarty, Ashland, Helen vonStein, Smith River, Calif., and Janet Hall, Meridian, Idaho; five step-grandchildren; and a number of step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Scheel; and two sisters, Ethel Kornstad and Anne Stark.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Ralph A. Look

Ralph A. Look, 85, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at Three Rivers Community Hospital and Health Center, Grants Pass. No service is planned. Inurnment was in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born March 26, 1912, in Etna, Calif.

On Dec. 20, 1979, in Riverside, Calif., he married Melva Jackson, who died in December 1993. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1989 from Ventura, Calif.

Mr. Look, a master sergeant, served in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years, starting in World War II.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rogue River Post, and a 32nd degree Mason in the Grants Pass Lodge.

A coin collector, Mr. Look also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include a son, Robert G., Grants Pass; a daughter, Nelda S. Lee, Milwaukie; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Glen Edward Shepler

The memorial graveside service for Glen Edward Shepler will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Phoenix Cemetery.

Mr. Shepler, 85, of Phoenix, died Friday (March 20, 1998) at the Ashland Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Oxford, W.Va.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934, serving until 1951, then was in the Naval Reserve through 1957.

Mr. Shepler lived in Hayward, Calif., from 1951 to 1971, when he moved to Oregon. For 15 years he owned and operated Shep's Frontier Antiques in Phoenix.

Survivors include one son, Wayne H., Phoenix; a daughter, Kathryn B. Shepler, Oakland, Calif.; and three grandchildren. His wife, Letha, preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

William E. Camp

William E. Camp, 93, of Ashland, died Sunday (March 22, 1998) at his home. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201, or a favorite charity.

He was born May 12, 1905, in Kentwood, La.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, including service during World War II. He then worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 19 years.

Mr. Camp moved to Ashland in 1965 from San Francisco.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, a 50-year Mason and a Shriner Legion of Honor.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella Camp, Ashland; a son, John, Portland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
