Donald Alton Rozelle

Donald Alton Rozelle, 33, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 13, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born April 26, 1964, in Lynwood, Calif.

Mr. Rozelle moved to the Rogue Valley four years ago from San Francisco.

He was a self-employed handyman.

Mr. Rozelle enjoyed hiking.

Survivors include his father, Ivan Rozelle, Terra Bella, Calif.; his mother, Cheryl Gobel, Boulder City, Nev.; his stepfather, Jerry Gobel, Eagle Point; two brothers, Ron, Eagle Point, and Jason, Studio City, Calif.; three sisters, Jodie Kramer and Stacie Gobel, both Medford, and Brenda Rozelle, El Sobrante, Calif.; and his grandmother, Winfrey Rozelle, Terra Bella.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Verna M. Lehrmann

The funeral for Verna M. Lehrmann will be at noon Saturday at the Hull & Hull Chapel, Grants Pass. Phillip Lewis will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery.

Mrs. Lehrmann of Rogue River, died Sunday (Feb. 15, 1998) at her home.

She was born Verna Dunn in Gordon, Neb. The family moved to Rogue River when she was a child and she attended Rogue River High School.

On June 29, 1946, in Grants Pass, she married James W. Lehrmann, who survives.

Mrs. Lehrmann worked many years with Harry and David's Bear Creek Orchards and harvested potato in Klamath Falls. For many years, she was a caregiver, first in nursing homes and later in private homes.

She was a Jehovah's Witness with the Rogue River Congregation.

Mrs. Lehrmann enjoyed volunteering.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include an uncle, Alvin Lanham, Gold Hill; and an aunt, Dorothy Hamlett, Burleson, Texas.

Friends may pay their respects from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.

Marilynn Holm

The memorial service for Marilynn Reichardt Holm will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the University of Washington Arboretum in Seattle. Inurnment will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood, Wash. The Rev. Robert L. Bethea of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Bellevue, Wash., will officiate.

Mrs. Holm, 76, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 13, 1998) at her home.

She was born Marilynn Sept. 14, 1921, in San Francisco, and graduated from Stanford University in 1942.

For many years, she lived in Bellevue and was an executive secretary at the UWArboretum, retiring in 1978.

She moved to Medford 15 months ago from Bellevue.

She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Medford.

She enjoyed traveling, literature and politics.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Rohrwild, Medford; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Wolf.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Rebecca A. Trowbridge

The memorial service for Rebecca Anne Trowbridge will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Central Point Community Bible Church. Pastor Peter Slusher will officiate. Interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Trowbridge, 47, of Central Point, died Saturday (Feb. 14, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 23, 1951, in Pasadena, Calif.

On July 4, 1993, in Grants Pass, she married Kenneth A. Trowbridge, who survives.

Mrs. Trowbridge moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Azusa, Calif.

She was a registered home health care nurse with Providence Home Health Care.

Mrs. Trowbridge enjoyed square dancing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Joshua McJunkin and Jeffrey McJunkin, both Central Point; her parents, Ron and Elinore Quick, Central Point; a brother, Ronald J. Quick, Palmdale, Calif.; and three sisters, Sharon V. Fisher, El Granada, Calif., Theresa J. Deming, Altadena, Calif., and Kathryn E. Povich, Martinez, Calif.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, 800 S. Front St., Central Point.

Tom Gilliland

The graveside service for Thomas "Tom" Gilliland will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. Stan Johnson of the West Main Church of Christ, Medford, will officiate.

Mr. Gilliland, 41, of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 16, 1998) at his home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Woodland, Calif. In 1965, the family moved to Grants Pass, where he attended school.

Mr. Gilliland moved to Medford in 1968 and graduated from Medford Senior High School.

He enjoyed playing electronic and board games.

Survivors include his parents, Carl and Marilyn Gilliland, Medford; and a brother, Dennis, Central Point.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Walt Burgess

Roy Walter "Walt" Burgess, 75, of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 16, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned. Interment will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 449 S. Ivy St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born July 4, 1922, in Biggar, Saskatchewan, and moved with his family to Oregon in 1924.

At the onset of World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a fighter pilot. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 14 oak leaf clusters. He also served in the Korean War and retired a major in 1963.

On Oct. 15, 1945, in Spokane, Wash., he married Betty Jane Kapel, who survives.

Mr. Burgess moved to Medford in 1969, where he bought the Royal Crest Motel. Later he was a bus driver and supervisor of transportation for the Medford School District before retiring in 1982.

He enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Mark, Beaverton, Scott, Philomath, Michael, San Bernardino, Calif., and Stephen, Placentia, Calif.; a brother, Osmer, Cottage Grove; two sisters, Mary Cleland and Margaret Jones, both Portland; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Richards.

June Evelyn Coke

The funeral for June Evelyn Coke will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery.

Mrs. Coke, 80, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Feb. 17, 1998) in Central Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1425 N.E. Irving St., Suite 100, Portland, OR 97232.

She was born June 9, 1917, in Talent, a daughter of Grover and Gladys Peebler.

In 1939, she married Robert Marshall Coke, who died in 1952.

Mrs. Coke was a rancher most of her life, operating an Ashland ranch off Butler Lane.

Survivors include two sons, Charles, Central Point, and Marshall, Bly; a daughter, Phyllis Pfaff, Eagle Point; a sister, Marjorie Thompson, Portland; 10 grandchildren; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Martin James Maxwell

Martin James Maxwell, 56, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Feb. 14, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Lewiston, Idaho.

Mr. Maxwell was a truck driver for Panther Crushing Inc., in White City. He moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Lapwai, Idaho.

Mr. Maxwell had been a sheriff in Idaho for four years and the Lapwai chief of police for eight years.

He had served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Maxwell, a member of the Nez Perce tribe, enjoyed woodworking, especially making stems for peacepipes.

He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed gold mining, restoring old cars, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his companion, Ilze DeVries, Phoenix; eight sons, Eddie, Phoenix; Brian in Oregon; Daniel, James Jr. and Tony, all Lewiston; Nicholas, Clarkston, Wash., Bobby and Johnny, both Grangeville, Idaho; a daughter, Carmen Maxwell, Clarkston; four sisters, Kathleen Burns, Medford, Marie Barden, Lapwai, Jean Oliver, Seattle, and Ann Allman, Clarkston; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Hawkins, and a brother, Bobby.
