Edna Stults Ragan

The memorial service for Edna Violet (Stults) Ragan will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ashland Christian Fellowship. Pastor Andy Green of Ashland Christian Fellowship will officiate.

She was born Edna Violet Sargent on Oct. 7, 1926, in Akeley, Minn. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1951.

Mrs. Ragan was a longtime waitress at restaurants including Omar's, Callahan's and Rogue Valley Country Club.

She was a member of Ashland Christian Fellowship and the Full Gospel Business Women's Association.

Mrs. Ragan enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include two sons, Terry and Jack Ragan, Medford; a daughter, Leasa (Stults) Lape, Talent; a sister, Helen Vernon, Grover Beach, Calif.; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Richard G. McAtee

The graveside service for Richard G. McAtee will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Lawrence Blight, chaplain of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, will officiate.

Mr. McAtee, 63, of Central Point, died Tuesday (March 9, 1999) at his home.

He was born May 20, 1935, in San Francisco.

On June 29, 1957, in Huntington Park, Calif., he married Lola Mae Ettinghausen, who survives.

Mr. McAtee served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1974 and was discharged with the rank of chief petty officer.

He moved to Central Point in 1974 and was a photocopy repairman until 1985. During that time he also volunteered as a sheriff's reserve Officer. He was a deputy sheriff for Jackson County from 1985 until 1997.

He was a member of the Medford Elks Lodge, the Fleet Reserve Association and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Laura Knouff, Debbie Stollings, and Stacy McAtee, all Central Point; a brother, Walter, Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Toni Vaughan, Talent; and three grandsons.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Donna Hix

The funeral service for Donna Hix will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Medford. Bruce D. Hix will officiate.

Ms. Hix, 36, of White City, died Sunday (March 7, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Suite 140, Portland, OR 97219.

She was born Aug. 15, 1962, in Oroville, Calif. Her family moved to Oregon in 1971.

Ms. Hix worked for the Medford School District in the food service industry.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, music and travel.

Survivors include a son, David Alvarado, White City; a daughter, Cheyenne Alvarado, White City; her mother, Diane Hix, Central Point; five brothers, Steve, Dave, and Darrell, all Central Point, Jim, Palmdale, Calif., and Wade, Lancaster, Calif. Her father, Wally, preceded her in death.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Neva S. McKeen

The funeral for Neva S. McKeen will be at 11 a.m. today at Siskiyou Chapel. Larry Doll of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jacksonville Ward, will officiate.

Mrs. McKeen, 84, of Medford, died Monday (March 8, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

She was born Neva S. Newman on June 14, 1914, in Jerome, Idaho.

On Dec. 15, 1958, in Butte Falls, she married Irvin G. McKeen, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Long Beach, Calif., in 1946.

Mrs. McKeen owned and operated the Riverview Cafe in Shady Cove for many years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mrs. McKeen enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jim Gilbreath, Central Point, and Richard Wallace, Keizer; two stepdaughters, Cindy McKeen, Ashland, Neb., and Carole Bennett, Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Marie Dungan, Fillmore, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Jimmie Ilyne Dickerson

The funeral service for Jimmie Ilyne Dickerson will be at noon Friday at First Assembly of God in Medford. The Rev. Lance Lovlin of First Assembly of God will officiate. A cryptside ceremony will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dickerson, 81, of Central Point, died Tuesday (March 9, 1999) at Hearthstone.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International, P.O. Box 82, Medford, OR 97501 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Jimmie Dickerson on Sept. 22, 1917, in Rogersville, Tenn.

On Feb. 23, 1935, in El Paso, Texas, she married Charles Dickerson, who died in 1985. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from Mount Shasta, Calif.

The couple managed the Sprouse Reitz store in Mount Shasta. In 1970, they transferred to the Medford store, retiring from Sprouse Reitz in Medford in 1978.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Medford and was a volunteer in the church women's group.

Mrs. Dickerson enjoyed pine needle crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia L. Coberly, Central Point; a son, David, Roseville, Calif.; a brother, Turk Dickerson, Etna, Calif.; a sister, Louise Hackett, Redding, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Henry R. Fossum

Henry Reed Fossum, 80, of Ashland, died March 2, 1999, at Hearthstone in Medford. No service is planned.

He was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Baker. He was raised in Klamath Falls, and attended the University of Oregon at Eugene and the University of California at Los Angeles.

In Carson City, Nev., he married Lorraine Marx, who survives. They were married more than 50 years.

Mr. Fossum lived in Marysville and Carlotta, Calif., and on the Northern California coast before moving to Ashland in 1986.

He enjoyed reading and was a collector of phonograph records.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Jack, Weed, Calif. He was preceded in death by a brother, and two sisters.

Catherine Marie Teets

The memorial Mass for Catherine Marie Ann Berger Teets will be at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corvallis.

Mrs. Teets, 86, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Friday (March 5, 1999) in Riverside.

She was born Catherine Marie Ann Berger on June 28, 1912, in Richardton, N.D.

On June 28, 1936, in Chinook, Mont., she married James Franklin Teets, who died in 1976. The couple moved to Central Point in 1951 from Alaska. In 1968, they retired to Tucson, Ariz. Catherine moved to Riverside, Calif., in 1976.

Mrs. Teets was a life member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the American Legion. She was active in her church.

Survivors include three sons, James Paul, Neal David, and Dean Michael; four brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Miller-Jones Mortuary, Hemet, Calif.

Janice Ruth McCrystal

The memorial service for Janice Ruth McCrystal will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Temple in Central Point. The Rev. Glenn V. Tucker will officiate.

Mrs. McCrystal, 52, of Medford, died Monday (March 8, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Janice Cox on April 16, 1946, in Oceanside, Calif.

On April 14, 1967, in Klamath Falls, she married Richard Dale McCrystal, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1967.

Mrs. McCrystal worked at an art gallery for 11 years, where she collected various forms of art.

Her faith was an inspiration to others.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Paul, Medford; two daughters, Cheryl Brown, Central Point, and Rachelle Serrano, Medford; her parents, Al & Doris Sheeler, Medford; three brothers, Lloyd Sheeler, Medford, Dallas Cox, Codo Springs, Texas, and Albert Sheeler Jr., Las Vegas; two sisters, Barbara Mariscal, Riverside, Calif., and Gwen Constant, Grover Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
