JEFFREY A. PRINKEY

Jeffrey A. "Redeye" Prinkey, 40, of Scottdale, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 6, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Jeff was born July 11, 1959, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Hiram C. "H.C." Prinkey of Alexandria, Va., and the late Alberta E. Thomas Prinkey, who died Sept. 21, 1985. Redeye was employed as a machine operator at L.E. Smith Glass Company of Mt. Pleasant and was a graduate of Southmoreland High School with the Class of 1977. In addition to his Father , he is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Wawrzyniak Prinkey, whom he married Sept. 12, 1985; his three loving children, Joseph Prinkey, Samantha Prinkey and Michael Prinkey, all at home; a sister, Cathy Schwartz and husband, Gary, of Scottdale; a brother, Daniel Schmeck and wife, Ann, of Bear Rocks, Mt. Pleasant; his mother - and Father -in-law, Joseph C. and Betty (Farino) Wawrzyniak of Scottdale; two sisters -in-law, Patricia Skowronek and husband, Robert, of Scottdale and Jody Duffy and husband, Scott, of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his mother , Jeff was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret "Jean" Batten-Prinkey on Dec. 20, 1996. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Shirley Farino of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery.

WILLIAM SAPONE

William Sapone, 78, of Monessen, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in the emergency room of the Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Monessen, a son of the late Salvatore "Sam" and Edith Minardi Sapone. Mr. Sapone was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1941 graduate of Monessen High School. He was co-owner of Allied Vending Corp. of Greensburg until his retirement. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Ravens Athletic Association, Hilltop Firemen's Club, the American Legion Post 28, V.F.W. Post 1190, the Knights of Columbus #954, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Italian Club, the Croatian Home, the P.N.A. Club, the Polish Club and the Elks #773, all of Monessen, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #209 of Belle Vernon. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant with the 266th "Dandelion" Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre. Survivors include his wife, Mona Sepesky Sapone, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on Nov. 18, 1999; a son and daughter-in-law, William S. and Susan Sapone of Erie; a daughter, Barbara A. Charley of Greensburg; two brothers , Edward K. and Raymond Sapone, both of Greensburg; and two grandchildren, Angela Charley and Bryant Sapone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Stillitano. Friends and relatives will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Ave. in Monessen. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Entombment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.

RALPH DAVID SPADE

Ralph David Spade, 87, of Monroeville, died Thursday, May 4, 2000. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (Seigh) Spade for 63 wonderful years. Loving Father of James A. Spade of Egg Harbor, N.J., Mary Ann Miller of Monroeville and the late Patricia Rodgers. Brother of the late Evelyn Cramer, Wilbert and Lloyd Spade. Also eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Spade retired from the Westinghouse Copper Mill in Linhart after 35 years of service. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., corner of Shaw and Triboro avenues, Turtle Creek, where services will be Monday at 11 a.m. Interment at Crossroads Cemetery.

WILLIAM A. STAUB

William A. Staub, 62, formerly of Murrysville and New Alexandria, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in the ManorCare Health Services, Monroeville. He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Harry E. and Grace Long Staub. He was a member of the New Alexandria Firemen's Club. He is survived by a sister, Kay Fleming and her husband, Tom, of Murrysville; and two nephews, Ed and Gary Fleming, both of Virginia. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Climie officiating. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

RALPH ECKENROD

Ralph Eckenrod, 56, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Greensburg, died Thursday, May 4, 2000. Born May 22, 1943, he was the son of Clifford Eckenrod of New Mexico and the late Loretta Blakley Eckenrod of Larimer. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Eckenrod and two stepdaughters, Sheila and Juanita, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Tom; daughters , Marlene, Debra, Jennifer and Angela, all of Greensburg, and Jessica Lynn Myers of Texas ; and two brothers , Charles of Irwin and William of West Mifflin. Interment will be private. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, Centennial Building, 241 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

RICHARD JAMES MARDIS

Richard James Mardis, 77, formerly of Murrysville, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 13, 1923, in New Kensington, a son of the late Harry and Marion Heuple Mardis. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a B-24 pilot in the Army Air Corps, followed by a 28-year career as an airline captain for both Capital and United Airlines. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City. He was involved in numerous activities, including council president, lecturing and ushering. He also volunteered for Murrysville Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore Coughlin Mardis, in 1998. He is survived by four daughters , Lauren E. Mardis of Westerville, Ohio, Nancy Jean Mardis of Morristown, N.J., Wendy Sue Molander of Baltimore, Md., and Kathleen M. Napoli of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons , Chip Mardis of Westerville, Ohio, and Christopher Scott Mardis of Lebanon, Ill.; and eight grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kristine Napoli, Elly Mardis, Lauren Molander, and R.J., Amy, Spencer and Rebecca Mardis. Visitation was Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and will be held Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara Church, Harrison City. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. A vigil service will be held Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

GLADYS L. (JOHNSON) SCHMUCKER

Gladys L. (Johnson) Schmucker, 74, of Latrobe RD1 (Lycippus), died Wednesday, May 3, 2000. She was born May 2, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa, a daughter of the late William and Hazel Johnson. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Chestnut Ridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Schmucker, in 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Stevens and husband, William, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; her son, Barry R. Schmucker and wife, Holly, of Latrobe RD1; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bosco of Greensburg and Rachel and Zachary Schmucker of Youngstown; a brother, Duane "Dick" Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa; two sisters , Mrs. Donald (Thelma) Taute of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Margaret "Marge" Scholzen of Prior Lake, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a blessing service was held Saturday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Simon J. Toth, O.S.B., officiating. Private interment will follow in Lycippus Community Cemetery, Unity Township. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Laurel Mountains Chapter, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.

FRANK STANISIC

Frank Stanisic, 67, of Trafford, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh. He was born June 10, 1932, in Trafford, a son of the late John Sr. and Mary Pavkovic Stanisic. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Printing. He was a member of St. Regis Church, the Trafford Fire Co. #1, and Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #541. He is survived by two brothers , John Stanisic Jr. of Trafford and Joe Stanisic of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a sister, Mary Renda of Monroeville; two nieces, Toni Beasley of Plum and Kimberly Renda of Regent Square; a great-nephew, Brandon Beasley, and a great-niece, Brittany Beasley, both of Plum. Friends were received Saturday and will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DAVID A. RITTER FUNERAL HOME, 220 Edgewood Ave., Trafford. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Father James D. Tringhese officiating. Interment will follow in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, North Braddock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Trafford Fire Co. #1, 400 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, PA 15085.

RALPH R. WIPPICH

Ralph R. "Pappy" Wippich, 67, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, May 5, 2000, in the Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. He was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Shafton, North Huntingdon, a son of the late Otto and Frances Rain Wippich. He was a retired employee of National Aluminum of Murrysville, and was an employee of S&S Taxi of McKeesport. He was a graduate of Norwin High School. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. 1671 of Irwin, and the Norwin Elks Lodge 2313. Pappy was well known for playing Santa Claus. He is survived by his wife, Catherine E. Lutz Wippich; two sons , Richard R. Wippich, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Dover, Del., and Michael E. Wippich at home; a daughter, Lori Weishorn and her husband, William, of North Versailles; four brothers , Jack Wippich of Greece, Otto Wippich of California, Robert Wippich of Level Green and Ken Wippich of Rochester, Pa.; and two sisters , Lilly Wippich of McKeesport and Linda Sior of Penn. Also nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John C. Pressler officiating. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

MAXWELL EMERSON BROWN

Maxwell Emerson Brown, infant son of Scott E. and Rona Lee Beluschok Brown of Greensburg, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He was born in Jeannette on April 3, 2000. He was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Greensburg and was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James E. Brown. He is survived, besides his parents, by his maternal grandparents, Loraine and Ronald Beluschok; and paternal grandmother, Kathaleen Brown, all of Greensburg; and aunts and uncles, Lynn Pike of Florida, Steven Brown of Greensburg, Michael Brown of New York, Susan and Eyves Choninark of Florida, and Patrick and Tara Brown of South Carolina; and two cousins, Austin and Jenna Pike. There will be no public viewing. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Orthodox Church with Arch Priest John Nosal as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery. The family wishes memorial contributions to the St. Michael's Orthodox Church Building Fund, Ashland Avenue Extension, Greensburg. Arrangements by KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., Greensburg.

ALDO L. CENJIA

Aldo L. Cenjia, 73, died Monday, May 8, 2000, in Johnstown. Born Feb. 6, 1927, in Elkins, Pa., a son of Joseph and Romana Fiching Cenjia. Preceded in death by parents; brothers , Atilo and Alfred; and an infant sister. Survived by his wife, the former Louise Mroczka; sons , James R., married to Monica Schroeder, of Centerville, Ohio, Dr. Dennis, married to Pamela Bytheway, of Greensburg, and Mark J. of Armagh; and grandchildren, Brent, Michael, Gail, Suzanne, Timothy, and Douglas. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, where he served as church usher. He was a retired bridge structural and ornamental iron worker with 30 years service. Also a member of Local #3 Union, Pittsburgh; Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree; VFW Post #7022, Seward; life member of the Seward Volunteer Fire Department; and an Army veteran serving in Germany from 1945 to 1952. His death ends his marriage union of 46 years, and he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the JON A. MEESE FUNERAL HOME, Seward. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, with the Rev. Edward McCullough as celebrant. military rites in charge of local organizations. Knights of Columbus memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

RICHARD P. COPPULA

Richard P. Coppula, 72, of Mt. Pleasant RD7, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Patsy and Rose Gismondi Coppula. He was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School in 1945, and the University of Pittsburgh in 1952. Mr. Coppula retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, and served in Korea. He was also a retired teacher of 20 years at Ligonier Valley Junior High School, where he also coached the junior high football team. He was also a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Coppula is survived by his beloved wife of 51 ½ years, Mary McClintock Coppula; a son, Richard Coppula Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathleen Stepan and her husband, John, of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren, Troy, Brian, Jason, Michelle and Michael Stepan, and Richard, Serena, Shannon, Nathaniel and Nickolus Coppula; and two brothers , Pat Coppula and his wife, Shirley, of the state of Florida and Dennis Coppula and his wife, Barbara, of Greensburg. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Matusak officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. military rites will be conducted at the memorial park by American Legion Post #446 of Mt. Pleasant.

EDGAR WILLIAM DONALDSON SR.

Edgar William Donaldson Sr., 82, of Delmont, formerly of East McKeesport and Lake Worth, Fla., died Sunday, May 7, 2000. He was born July 29, 1917, in Turtle Creek, a son of the late Edgar and Margaret Dixon Donaldson. He graduated from Union High School and attended Columbia University. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radarman during World War II. Mr. Donaldson retired in 1972 as an administrative officer with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was an Eagle Scout in his youth and later served as a scout master in Morgantown, W.Va. He was a life member of the East McKeesport Fire Company #2 and was also a life member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #548. A lifelong Episcopalian, Mr. Donaldson was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Greensburg, and previously was a warden, Lay Reader, and Sunday school superintendent of the former St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Wilmerding. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters , Margaret D. Retzler, Alice D. Mattern and Virginia D. Green. Mr. Donaldson is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Weaver Donaldson; his children, Edgar W. Donaldson Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Gulf Port, Fla., Barbara D. Jennings and her husband, Charles, of McKeesport, and Rebecca D. Vesely and her husband, James, of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sisters , Ellen D. Coleman of Wilkinsburg and Grace D. Brady of North Huntingdon. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Lawrence Knotts officiating. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Full military services will be accorded by the VFW Post #33 at Brush Creek Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 122 N.
