Slade Allen Davis
Blooming Grove, Pa. - Funeral Services were held for Slade Allen Davis, 34, of Blooming Grove Township, who died Saturday June 6, 2008 at his home. Surviving is his wife, Andrea Dirie Davis.
Born on September 30,1973 in Honesdale, he was the son of Genevieve McKean Davis, McKean Valley and the late James L. Davis. He was a heavy equipment operator working in construction
Survivors include also include a brother, Rick, McKean Valley; a nephew, Cody Davis, McKean Valley; a niece, Fawn Contraes, TN; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at Stroyan Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12, at 11 am, with Rev. David Repenning officiating.
Interment, McKean Valley Cemetery, Shohola.

Erich George Pauliks
Tafton, PA - A Memorial Service will be held for Erich George Pauliks of Harrisburg, formerly of Tafton and Hawley, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Sporrer Pauliks.
Born in Tilsit, East Prussia, he was the son of the late Christoph and Ulricke Jagomast Pauliks. He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and served in the US Army. He was self-employed running Pauliks Bake Shop in the Lake Region for over 20 years. He was a member of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union.
He is also survived by two  daughters, Christel Pauliks of Yardley, Cheryl Attinger and husband, Tim of Harrisburg; three sons, Christopher Pauliks and fiancé Kathleen Morgan of Newark, DE, Peter Pauliks of Tafton, and Werner and Erika Pauliks of Sunnyside, NY; two grandsons, Christopher and Cooper; and two brothers, Lothar and Walter Pauliks of Germany.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 16 at 4 pm at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St. in Hawley, with Rev, Shane Kirby officiating.
Friends may visit Monday, June 16 from 2 to 4 pm only.

Jeanne E. Steimling
Tafton, Pa. - Graveside services will be held today, July 3 for Jeanne E. Steimling, 83, of Tafton, who died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Clair “Jake” Steimling, they would have been married 59 years, yesterday on July 2.
Born March 5, 1925 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary E. (Keilman) Weaver. She was associated with the family business, C.F. Steimling Inc. Excavation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hawley.
Also suriving are a sister-in-law, Florence Weavers of Tamaqua; a daughter-in-law, Patti Steimling of Blooming Grove; and a granddaughter, Ayla Steimling of Philadelphia.
She was predeceased by three sons, Wayne, Leroy and Raymond.
Graveside service will be today, Thursday, July 3 at 2 pm at Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack with Rev. William Samford, Pastor, First Presbyterian Church in Hawley, officiating.

Tammy L. Clickner
Hawley, Pa. - Tammy was born July 29, 1977 in East Stroudsburg, PA and was the daughter of James and Barbara (Slifko) Clickner.
She was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School class of 1995. She attended College Misercordia where she received her BS in nursing in 1999. Upon receiving her degree she went to work as an RN at Mercy Hospital in Scranton.
Tammy spent many hours watching her favorite #8 NASCAR, doing her cross-stitching and watching football. She had a great love of the outdoors and spending her vacations on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior beaches in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
She is survived by her parents, James and Barbara (Slifko) Clickner of Hawley, one brother: James Clickner of Hawley; paternal grandmother, Donna Clickner of Newberry, MI.
Tammy was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, William Clickner and maternal grandparents, Michael and Leda Slifko.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley. The funeral will be Monday, June 23 at 100 am at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley.
Interment will be in Indian Orchard Cemetery in Honesdale.

Albert C. Coutts
Paupack, Pa. - Services will be held for Albert C. “Al” Coutts, 82, a lifelong resident of Paupack, who died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, following an illness. His wife of 56 years Janet Beatrice (Verrill) Coutts survives.
The son of the late George and Anna Gumble Coutts, he was the former co-owner of Pocono Construction, having retired in 1990. He graduated Hawley High School, Class of 1944. During World War II, he served stateside with the Army. On. Dec. 25, 1950, he was shipped from Japan to Korea, where he was a member of the 25th Division, 27th Infantry Wolfhounds and earned two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Paupack United Methodist Church and was the Sunday School Superintendent at Paupack UMC for 50 years, an adult Sunday School Teacher, certified Lay Speaker and a Lay Leader for many years. He was also a Choir Member and President of the church’s Men’s Group. In addition, he was a member of the Paupack 55+ Club, an active member of the Wallenpaupack Historical Society and spent many years with the 4-H, including serving as a leader. He formally sang with the NEPA Barbershop in Honesdale. He was a proud husband,  Father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: sons and  daughters-in-law, Albert L. and Marilyn, Paupack; and David H. and Jane, Staatsburg, NY; Daughter and son-in-law, Amie B. and Ernest Subbe, Jr. Pen Argyl; grandchildren, Lindsay, Pamela, Patricia, A.J. Kyle and Peter; great grandchild Cody; a sister, Beatrice Martin, Blooming Grove; brothers George E., Paupack; Harold, San Antonio, TX; Donald, Paupack; and James, Paupack; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Richard and Eugene.
Friends may visit Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9:30 am to 11 am at Narthex of Paupack United Methodist Church Route 507, Paupack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at 11 am at the Paupack United Methodist Church, Route 507, Paupack, the Rev. Robert B. Kolvik-Campbell, Pastor, officiating.

James Kevin Monaghan
Hawley, Pa. - Serivces will be held for James Kevin Monaghan, 56, of Hawley, who died Friday, July 11, 2008 at his home after illness. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, the former Ann Kaltschitz. The couple married August 3, 1991.
Born June 6, 1952 in Honesdale, he is the son of Jane Murphy Monaghan, RN of Hawley and the late Robert H. Monaghan. He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, class of 1971. After graduating high school, he joined the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jim worked as a roofer and mason. He was a member of Wilson-Kelch American Legion, Post 311 Hawley and BVM Queen of Peace Parish in Hawley.
The passions of his life were his wife and daughter and providing a willing and helping nature for anyone who needed it and a smile for all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving is his daughter Samantha Jane Monaghan at home; a sister Patricia Reinert and husband Walter of Glendale, AZ; brothers Robert J. Monaghan and wife Linda of Portland, OR and Daniel Monaghan and wife Donna of Reading, PA; his mother-in-law Marie Kaltschitz of Hawley; brother-in-law William Kaltschitz of NY; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Richard B. Monaghan and his beloved niece Tarah Reinert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley at 10 am. Interment will follow in Green Gates Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

William J. Mullin
Greeley, Pa. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for William J. Mullin, 73, of Greeley, who died Sunday July 27, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.
The son of the late Steven and Mary Hanlon Mullin he was born October 4,1934 in Bayonne, NJ. He was a retired carpenter for New York City District Council of Carpenters.
Survivors include a daughter Veronica Mullin of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Kenneth of Decanter, GA; a sister, Kathleen Reynolds of Greeley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathe.
Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, Tuesday, July 29, 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann, Lords Valley, Wednesday July 30, 10:30 am, with the Rev. Paul Mullen officiating.

Bernice J. Dillmuth
Beach Lake, Pa. - Funeral services will be held for Bernice J. Dillmuth, 93, of Beach Lake and Sun City Center, FL, who died on July 11, 2008 at South Bay Hospital of Sun City Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Willard C. Dillmuth.
Born April 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Jackson and was raised in Tyler Hill, on the family dairy farm. She and her late husband owned and operated the Milanville General Store for over 20 years. She graduated from Damascus High School in 1933 and was the last surviving member of her class. In 1967, she retired from the Milanville Post Office as the postal clerk. She was a member of the Beach Lake United Methodist Church and an affiliate member of the Sun City Center United Methodist Church. She also held memberships in the Retired Postal Workers Association and The Mayflower Society. She was widely noted for her lovely smile and sweet disposition and will be greatly missed, a family statement reads.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Dillmuth of Sun City Center, FL; son, Roger and wife Evelyn, of Beach Lake; a son, Douglas and wife, Pam of Milford; six grandchildren, Paul, Susan, Mark, Tim, Doug Jr. and Sarah; and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Noble of Sun City Center, FL; and two nieces, Doris Swendsen of Tyler Hill and Mary Jane Tarr and husband, Bob of Ohio.
She was also preceded in death a granddaughter, Christine Dillmuth; and two brothers, Paul and Earl Jackson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 1 pm at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Terwilliger officiating.
The viewing will be from 12 noon to 1 pm prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Indian Orchard Cemetery.

James Thomas Lee, Jr.
Greensboro, N.C. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for James Thomas Lee, Jr., 81, who died on August 5, 2008 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC. He is survived by his wife, Florence Adrian Lee.
Born October 9, 1926 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late James Lee Sr. and Julia O'Sullivan Lee. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a Detective with the Nassau County Police Department, 5th Precinct in New York for 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church since 1995; a member of the Knights of Columbus in Valley Stream Long Island, NY; and also a member of the Kiwanis Club. He coached little league baseball and was an avid golfer. He loved reading and music. He spent his winter months in Barefoot Bay, Fl. “James was a wonderful husband,  Father, grandfather and friend,” a family statement reads.
He is also survived by four sons, Kevin and James Jr. of Hawley, Robert of Mebane, NC and Thomas of Greensboro, NC; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lee Riguzzi.
The family will receive friends from 3 pm - 5 pm and from 7 pm - 9 pm on Friday, August 8, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Saturday August 9, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Interment, at a later date at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Columbarium.

Kenneth D. Swartz
Scranton, Pa. - Funeral services were held for Kenneth D. Swartz of Scranton died Tuesday evening, June17, 2008, in the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center in Scranton, following an illness.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late C. Kenneth and Evelyn (Linney) Swartz. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and the University of Scranton. He was a graduate of the Yale Institute of Far Eastern Languages and was awarded a Master's Equivalency in English after graduate studies at Marywood University. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving as a Chinese language specialist in Korea and Japan from 1954 to 1958. After an initial year at Honesdale High School, he taught English and served as the English Department Chairperson and founded the drama program at Wallenpaupack Area High School before retiring in 1993.
He is survived by cousins.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at 10 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, North Washington Avenue and Electric Street Scranton, with Canon William T. Warne as officiating clergy.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Brendan M. Kizer
Hawley, Pa. - Services will be held for Brendan M. Kizer, 17, of Hawley, who died Friday at Children’s Hospital, Philadelphia, after a battle with Leukemia.
He was born in Queens, NY, son of Timothy and Robbin Kizer Hughes of Hawley. He was senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School. Also surviving are a sister Meighan Kizer at home. He enjoyed skateboarding and was a self-taught guitar player.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd., Rt. 296 Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Andrea Hartenfels. Interment , Kizer Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
