Regina S. Schroding, 87
Regina S. Schroding of Quakertown passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Bella Haven in Quakertown. She was 87.
Born in Johnstown, she was the loving mother of Donna (William) Conard of Warminster, and Dennis (Carol) Schroding of of Quakertown. Also surviving are a grandson, Larry (Heather) Schroding, a great-granddaughter, McKenna Joy Schroding, and two brothers Dorsey (Catherine) Brendle and Devon (Shirley) Brednle, both of Johnstown.
Mrs. Schroding was formerly employed by Devault and Splund Company and was also a former waitress at Williamson’s Restaurant in Philadelphia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, December 10, at the Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, where friends will bwe received after 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, One Plymouth Meeting, Suite 520, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462-1216, in Mrs. Schroding’s memory. Arrangements are by Decker Funeral Home, Warminster.

Richard D. ‘Richie’ Riley, 83
Richard D. “Richie” Riley, 83, died peacefully at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the home of his nephew in North Codorus Township, where he had lived for the past four years.
Richard was born July 18, 1924 in Philadelphia, son of the late Vere B. and Esther (Miller) Riley. After relocating to N.J., where he lived for much of his life, Richie was named Honorary Fireman in Smithville , N.J.
He had worked in a variety of jobs during his lifetime, including Handi-Crafters and as a custodian at the Valley Forge Army Hospital, both in Phoenixville.
Richie will be sadly missed by his two nephews, David A. Fetters of Spring Grove and Mark Smith of Exton; and his two nieces, Susan Lusch of Kimberton and Cheryl Smith-Weiss of Carpinteria, Cal.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Riley; and three sisters, Peg Lewis, Eleanor Fetters and Sarah Smith.
The funeral service for Richie will be held to give thanks for his life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Malcolm Workman, officiating. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Morris cemetery, Phoenixville, at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Contributions may be made in memory of Richie to Golden Visions Community Senior Center & Adult Day Care, 1157 Eichelberger St., Hanover, PA 17331.

Norman L. Brown
Born in Taneytown, Maryland on Nov. 8, 1938

SPRING GROVE - Norman L. Brown, 65, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Smith) Brown to whom he was married 45 years.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove with, the Rev. Larry A. McConnell officiating. Viewings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Greg Brown, Brad Sneeringer, Bob Smith, Steve Snyder, and Dale Hoover.
Mr. Brown was born November 8, 1938, in Taneytown, Maryland, he was a son of the late William H. and Anna M. (Manchey) Brown.
He retired in 1998 after 36 years of service at Glatfelter in Spring Grove, and was a member of the mill Quarter Century Club. Norman was a social member of Spring Grove Post #5265, VFW. He graduated in 1956 from Spring Grove High School.
Besides his wife he leaves three children, Mike Brown of Thomasville, Cindy A. Myers and Greg A. Brown both of Spring Grove; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, William “Sonny” Brown of Missouri, Thomas “Gene” Brown of Cortland, Oregon, Ruth Hicks of York, Marjorie Trump of Hanover, Janet Bollinger of Dover, and Donald Brown of Hanover.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine V. Brown in 1961.

Teresa Sue (Geier) Lloyd

THOMASVILLE - Teresa Sue (Geier) Lloyd, 35, died suddenly at 11:36 a.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at York Hospital. She was the wife of James W. Lloyd whom she married October 30, 1998.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. Patrick Cox officiating. Viewings will be for 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.
Born July 25, 1968 in York, she was the daughter of Larry S. Geier, Sr. and Yvonne (Boeckel) Trimmer both of York. She was raised by Budd Lookingbill of Manchester and the late Millie May (Geier) Lookingbill.
Teresa was a 1986 graduate of Dover Area High School and was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Frito-Lay in York for 8 years.
Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, Shawn P. Lookingbill of Thomasville and Larry S. Geier, Jr. of York; two sisters, Marijo Addlesberger of Dover, and Denise Keiser of York.

Susan (Oaks) Leonard
Born in Central City, Somerset County, PA on May. 7, 1937

AIRVILLE - Susan (Oaks) Leonard, 66, formerly of Spring Grove died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury. She was the wife of Ross S. Leonard whom she married June 12, 1976.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Spring Grove with her pastor, the Rev. Daniel V. Biles, III and her former pastor, the Rev. Joseph W. Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Chanceford Presbyterian Church cemetery near Airville. Viewings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Leonard was born May 7, 1937, in Central City, Somerset County. She was a daughter of the late E. Clyde and Mary (Clark) Oaks.
She retired in 1991 after 27 years of teaching elementary grades and music in the Spring Grove Area School District. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spring Grove where she was a former choir director. She was a member of the Southern York County Garden Club.
She was a 1955 graduate of Shade Township/Central City Borough Joint High School and a 1959 graduate of Lebanon Valley College in Annville.
Mrs. Leonard also leaves a son, Mark R. Wolf of Wrightsville; two step sons, John R. Leonard of York and David H. Leonard of Arlington, Virginia; a step daughter, Sara E. Leonard of Vienna, Virginia; three grandchildren; a brother, John C. Oaks of Morgantown, West Virginia; and two sisters, Anna L. Hare of Peekskill, New York and Agnes R. Steffy of Waterloo, Ontario.

Roy E. Golden
Born in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania on Aug. 8, 1913

SPRING GROVE - Roy E. “Lefty” Golden, 90, died at 12:55 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Spring Grove. He was the husband of the late Ruth O. Golden who died March 2, 1999.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with his pastor the Rev. Daniel V. Biles, III officiating. Viewings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery.
Born August 17, 1913 in Spring Grove, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Sadie E. (Wildasin) Golden.
Mr. Golden retired in 1975 from P.H. Glatfelter Company where he was employed for 28 years and was a member of the mill Quarter Century Club.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Mr. Golden leaves two  daughters, Leanne J. Hill of York, and Cynthia A. Breeden of Spring Grove; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Mummert of Spring Grove and Ruth Golden of Hanover.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly J. Miller in 2000.

Helen L. (Spahr) Spangler

HANOVER - Helen L. (Spahr) Spangler, 96, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007 at her home. She was the loving wife of Norman H. Spangler who died September 14, 1997.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenmount cemetery in York. Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove is coordinating the arrangements.
Helen was born April 5, 1911 in Hellam Township, a daughter of the late Franklin F. and Ida L. (Billet) Spahr.
She was a member of St. Peter ’s (Lischey ’s) United Church of Christ in Spring Grove.
Helen is survived by a niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Marie Spangler who died in 1950.

Ethel M. (Crone) Senft, 1924 - 2007
Spring Grove - Ethel M. (Crone) Senft, 83, died peacefully at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Normandie Ridge in York. She was the wife of James P. Senft who preceded her in death in 1980.
The funeral service for Mrs. Senft will be held in thanksgiving for her life at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Spring Grove with the Rev. Daniel V. Biles, III officiating and the Rev. Dennis E. Fulk assisting. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the church parlor prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Paul ’s Union cemetery, Stoverstown.
Ethel was born on June 27, 1924 in Warrington Twp., a daughter of the late Robert L. and Mabel Rae (Reever) Crone.
Mrs. Senft lovingly devoted her life to homemaking for her husband and six children. She previously served as president of the Ladies ’ Auxiliary of Spring Grove Post # 5265, VFW.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, where she taught Sunday school and volunteered her time as a church quilter.
During her younger years, Ethel enjoyed cooking and baking with her late husband. She will be fondly remembered for the many beautiful wedding cakes and baked goods she created for the Spring Grove community.
Mrs. Senft will be sadly missed by her children; a son, Robert E. Senft and wife, Delia, of York; and five  daughters, Linda S. Koons and husband, Kenneth, and Cynthia G. Druck and husband, Edward, all of York, and Marcia J. Leppo and husband, Brent, Pamela J. Meckley and husband, Leonard, and Jane L. Thoman and husband, Troy, all of Spring Grove; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Crone; and four sisters, Pauline Haugh, Thelma Shearer, June Sunday, and Evelyn Schaeffer, all of Dover. Ethel was preceded in death by an infant son, Wayne Senft.
Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Senft to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362.

Adrian L. Woods

NASHVILLE, JACKSON TWP. - Adrian L. Woods, 69, died with his family by his side at home at 2 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007. He was the loving husband of Diane E. (Drummer) Woods to whom he would have been married 33 years on August 24, 2007.
Following cremation, a funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd., Abbottstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Michael Messner, as celebrant. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove is coordinating arrangements.
Adrian was born June 16, 1938 in New York City, a son of the late Adrian H. and Genevieve (Golinsky) Woods.
He retired from Pfaltzgraff in Thomasville where he was employed in middle management positions. Adrian was an environmental activist and proudly supported Greenpeace International. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was a graduate of St. Peter ’s College in Jersey City, NJ.
In addition to his wife Diane, he will be sadly missed by a son, Joshua J. Woods and his wife Amy of Mechanicsburg; daughter, Rachel J. Brewer and her husband Lee of Red Lion; grandson, Gabriel Woods; and sister, Gloria Kerstner of New Jersey.
