ANITA SILK ALBERTI

Anita (Hupp) Silk Alberti, 64, of Long Island, NY, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 in Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nina (Reaver) Hupp. She attended the former Hatfield High School and graduated from the former Lansdale High School.

As a young woman, she was an airline hostess for United Airlines. Later, she was secretary to the dean of Long Island University, CW Post Campus.

Mrs. Alberti was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Massapequa, NY. She enjoyed Bible study and Bible history.

She volunteered as an aide at Huntington Hospital and as a literacy volunteer in Massapequa. She was loving and unselfish and always involved in her children's lives.

She is survived by a daughter, Anita C. Silk of Milford Square; a son, Raymond Silk of Hauppage, NY; a sister, Marlene Wilcox and her husband, Thomas W., of Telford; and a brother, Harry E. Reaver and his wife, Claudia, of Sellersville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service, Friday, Oct. 5, at 1 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Main Street and Lincoln Avenue, Telford. Calling hours will be from Noon to 1 P.M. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn cemetery in Upper Gwynedd. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, P.O. Box 79563, Baltimore, MD 21279-0563. Phone : 301-670-9292. Arrangements are by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home in Franconia.

CHARLES M. DELP

Charles M. Delp, 67, a retired supervisor, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at his home in Lansdale, after a long illness.
He was the husband of Mary Ann M. (Bray) Delp.

Born Sept. 10, 1934 in Norristown, he was the son of Charles P. Delp Jr. of California and the late Myrtle Mae (Kriebel) Delp.

He was employed by Handy & Harman Tube Company of East Norriton for 44 years.

Mr. Delp was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church in Lansdale and enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Saylor and her husband, Ron, of Telford; and two stepgrandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 A.M., Monday, Oct. 8, from the R.L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home, Skippack Pike and Cedars Road, Skippack, where friends may call from 10 to 11 A.M. Interment will be in St. John Neumann cemetery in Chalfont.

ANTHONY P. GASBARRA

Anthony P. Gasbarra, 65, of Phoenix, AZ, died Sept. 29, 2001. He was the husband of Dolores Gasbarra.
He was born Nov. 3, 1935 in Abington.

Mr. Gasbarra was employed as a mechanic by the R.T. French Company for 25 years.

He was a loving and devoted  Father to his daughter, Layne, and his sons, Marc and Michael. Survivors also include two sisters, Maria Lochetta and Anna Marie O'Donnell; a brother, Peter Raffle; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony P. Gasbarra Jr.

Private services have been held. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

You will be in our hearts forever.

MARY JANE LOMBARDO

Mary Jane (Seasholtz) Lombardo, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 in New Jersey.
Born and raised in Lansdale, she graduated from the former Lansdale High School in 1943.

She is survived by two  daughters, Joanne Kiliany and Vickie Howell; a granddaughter, Andrea; two sisters, Nancy Miller and Carolyn Weber; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at Atco Presbyterian Church.

JANE BAND

Jane (Kolbe) Band, age 77, and formerly of Hatfield, PA passed away Friday, September 28, 2001 in Newport News, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene M. Band, in 1999.
Born in Doylestown, she had recently moved to the Virginia peninsula to make her home with her daughter, Emily M. Higgins of Newport News.

She retired in 1986 as an Unemployment Claims Examiner for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania after thirty years of service.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sisters, Gertrude Martens of Ventnor, NJ and Emily Kelley of Beverly Hills, FL and two grandchildren, Navy Petty Officer Second Class Edward Higgins, serving his country in Goose Neck, SC and Elizabeth Frost and her husband, Mike, of Prescott, AZ.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service being officiated by the Rev. Gregory F. Dimick on Wednesday, October 3, 11 AM at the Kligge Funeral Home, Inc., 464 S. Main St., Hatfield. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to service time. Interment will be at Doylestown cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial donations to the American Red Cross, 5 Cannon Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446.

CHARLES W. STANLEY
Charles W. Stanley, 89, died September 29, 2001 in Willow Ridge Center, Upper Moreland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha E. (Hackbart) Stanley, in 1990.

MARIE F. COPE

Marie F. Cope, 70, of Montrose, died Thursday evening, Oct. 18, 2001, at her residence. She had been in failing health. She was the wife of 53 years of A. Russell Cope.
Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose (Sandone) Taverno. She was a graduate of the former Lansdale High School. Formerly of Colmar, she moved to Montrose in 1994.

Mrs. Cope was the comptroller of North Penn Hospital from 1963 until she retired in 1994.

She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Montrose and a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale.

Mrs. Cope belonged to the Elks Lodge in Binghamton, NY.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three  daughters, Sharon Kline and her husband, Bill, of Warrenton, VA, Donna Horn and her husband, Gary, of Montrose and Christina Baker of New York; a son, David R. Cope and his wife, Patricia, of North Carolina; and 10 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 11 AM at St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale, followed by interment in St. Stanislaus cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Kevin House, (associated with the Roswell Cancer Institute) 782 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14203 would be preferred.

WILDA C. FIELDS

Wilda Catherine Fields of Hatboro, died Thursday evening, Oct. 25, 2001 at her home, following a long illness. She would have observed her 71st birthday October 26. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Fields, Jr., in 1991.
Born in Tallapoosa, GA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Clifford and Sue (Mabry) Maxwell. Formerly of Doylestown, she moved to Hatboro in 1958.

She retired from the former Solid State Scientific Co., currently Allegro Micro Systems in Willow Grove in 1995, after 37 years of employment in the electronics industry.

She is survived by a daughter and four sons, Melinda S. DeRego of Waianae, HI, Aaron Fields of Hilltown, George E. Fields III of Lansdale, Donald W. Fields of Souderton and Graig B. Fields of Hatboro; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mary (Maxwell) McGinnis of Tallapoosa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Maxwell; and a sister, Estella (Maxwell) Howard.

A service for relatives and friends will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11 A.M. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, where friends may call after 10 A.M. Interment , Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914. Cards or letters may be sent to the Fields family at P.O. Box 149, Hilltown, PA 18927.

EVELYN KOFFEL
Evelyn "Evie" (Metz) Koffel, 72, a longtime Harleysville resident, died Saturday, October 27, 2001, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Herbert P. "Johnny" Koffel. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary Jan. 10, 2001.

LINDA J. PETERMAN
Linda J. Peterman, age 53, of North Wales, died Oct. 27, 2001, after bravely battling cancer for more than 10 years.

CATHRYNE S. PLACE
Cathryne S. (Springer) Place, a retired elementary school teacher, died Thursday, October 25, 2001, at Meadowood At Worcester, at the age of 90. Mrs. Place, formerly of Fairview Village, resided at Meadowood for the past two years.

JOHN H. CARMAN

John H. Carman, 69, of North Wales, died Saturday evening, Oct. 27, 2001, at his residence He had been in failing health.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (McCoog) Carman, in April, 2000. Formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, he lived in North Wales for seven years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Jacob and Catherine (Wettlaufer) Carmen. He graduated from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and served in the Philippines with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Carman worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Northeast Philadelphia for many years and retired as a courier in center city Philadelphia for First Pennsylvania Bank.

He was a member of Mary, mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery Twp., where he served as a Eucharist minister.

He belonged to the National Association of Letter Carriers, Keystone Branch and was a soccer coach at the Torresdale Boys Club in Philadelphia, for many years.

Mr. Carman is survived by a son, Timothy Carman and his wife, Loretta, of the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia; and a daughter, Elizabeth Carman of Northeast Philadelphia.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Carman and William Carman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, Friday, Nov. 2 at 10 A.M. at Mary, mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19454 (in Montgomery Twp.), where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10 A.M. Interment , Resurrection cemetery in Bensalem. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Mary, mother of the Redeemer Church, at the address above, would be preferred. Arrangements are by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.

MILDRED M. FILLMAN

Mildred M. Fillman, 85, of Souderton Mennonite Homes, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's Evangelical Church, Dill and Chestnut streets in Perkasie, Thursday evening at 7 P.M. Interment in St. Andrew's Union cemetery. Calling hours at the church will be Thursday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. Arrangements are by Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home in Souderton.

TERRENCE A. KERR SR.

Terrence A. Kerr Sr., age 73, of Souderton and formerly of Cheltenham, died Monday afternoon, October 29, 2001, at the Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler.
He was the loving husband of Eugenia "Jeanne" (Herman) Kerr. The couple celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary this past May.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret A. (Kelly) Kerr. He was a graduate of LaSalle University, Class of 1951.

Mr. Kerr was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Hatfield.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1946 to 1947, and was a member of the American Legion.

He retired from the Office of Personnel Management in 1991, where he had been a hearing examiner and later a personnel investigator.

He will be remembered most by his family for spending time with and enjoying his grandchildren, in addition to being the family's general home maintenance engineer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Terrence A., Jr. of Ridley Park, Kevin and his wife, Jennifer, of Harleysville, John and his wife, Linda, of Hatboro and Brian and his wife, Deborah, of Wallingford; his sister, Sister Mary Terrence S.S.J. of Flourtown; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Caitlin, John and Edward.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Friday, November 2, at 10:30 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, Cowpath and Derstine roads, Hatfield.

There will be a viewing Thursday evening, November 1, from 7 to 9 PM at the Kligge Funeral Home Inc., 464 S. Main St., Hatfield. Interment , Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in his name to St. Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
