Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

THOMAS GALLAGHER

Thomas A. Gallagher, 44 of Wyncote, died suddenly on October 8, 2007 at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Born in Abington, he was the son of the beloved John G. and Alice C. Mallen Gallagher.

Tom was a talented musician who will be sadly missed by many friends in the music community. He enjoyed working at IAHP and will be greatly missed by his co-workers.

Besides his parents, Tom is the devoted brother and brother-in-law to Donald and his wife, Barbara, Kathleen Carney and her husband, Thomas, Kevin and his wife, Patricia, and Grace D’Aniello and her husband, Michael; also survived by aunts, uncles; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 602 West Ave., Jenkintown, where the family will greet relatives and friends at 9 AM. Interment will be at the Holy Sepulchre cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, 8801 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA. 19038. Arrangements are by the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home in Jenkintown.

WILLIAM LAUMAN

William John “Bill” Lauman of Rock Hall, MD, died on October 7, 2007 at the home of his daughter in Rock Hall. He was 59.

He was born in Norristown, November 20, 1947, the son of Charles Lauman of Lansdale, and the late Helen Rose Lauman.

He graduated class of 1966 from the North Penn High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Lauman served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. He returned to Telford, where he worked as a machinist with the former Gasboy International and Weavers in Lansdale. He resided in Telford until moving to Rock Hall, in December of 2005.

He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed his friends and riding his Harley’s.

He is survived by two  daughters, Tiffany Nycole Walls and her husband, Jason, of Rock Hall, and Ashley Rose Lauman of Harleysville; grandchildren, Austin Bramble, Taylor Walls, and Jayde Walls. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Lauman of Harleysville, and Donnie Lauman of Colmar; and a sister. Kathy Tewksbury of Perkasie.

Relatives, friends, and motorcycle enthuisaists are invited to Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD on Monday Oct 29, between the hours of 6 AM and 9 PM. Services with honors will be held at Arlington National cemetery on Oct 30, at 2 PM (arrival time is 1:30).

DOROTHY REIFF

Dorothy M. Reiff, 84, a long time resident of Line Lexington, died October 8, 2007 in her home. She was the beloved wife of C. Russell Reiff. They had observed their 66th wedding anniversary last June.

Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Hattie P. (Benner) Reiff.

Mrs. Reiff was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. She was a devoted mother and homemaker.

Surviving with her husband are three children, Jerilynn Miller and her husband, John E., of Venice, FL, George R. Reiff and his wife, Cynthia, of Bonita Springs, FL and Steven Reiff and his wife, Linda, of Lansdale; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Ann Reiff; and two sisters, Kathleen Wallace and Joyce Snyder.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 on Friday, Oct. 12, at 11 AM. The family will greet friends at the church prior to the service between 10 and 10:45 AM. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either Trinity Lutheran Church, address above or the Artman Lutheran Home, 250 Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 or Doylestown Hospice, 595 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914. Arrangements are with Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

RICHARD WIND

Richard Wybo Wind, 65, of Souderton, died September 23, 2007 at Grand View Hospital, following his courageous battle with cancer.

Born February 16, 1942 in Whitesboro, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Adelaide Wind. He graduated from Norwich with a bachelor of arts degree in government and went on to honorably serve in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War.

Richard was known by his loved ones for his wonderful sense of humor, his passion for music and the warmth in his heart for family and friends. Richard's love of animals extended his family to his beloved pets. He enjoyed working in his wood shop and spending time on the golf course. His family has fond memories of fishing and camping trips and Christmas sing-a-longs.

He is survived by his three children, Kimberly J. Wind of Newport Beach, CA, Bradley T. Wind of East Coventry, and Amanda D. Wind of Columbia, MD. He was the devoted brother of Betty Wrisley of Simsbury, CT, Carol Thompson of Sherrill, NY, and Joyce McArdle of Southbury, CT. He was the cherished grandfather of Jackson, Lily and Lucia.

Services will be held October 13 at 1 PM at the Keystone Community Fellowship, 427 Stump Road, North Wales (Montgomery Township), PA 19454. There will also be a service held in New York but, the service has not been confirmed yet. Tentatively, it will be held October 27, at Eldridge-Dimbleby Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro, NY 13492. (315) 736-2419. MARIE THOMAS

Marie M. Thomas, 81, of Telford, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Grand View Hospital in West Rockhill Twp. She was the beloved wife of Coevel W. Thomas to whom she was married for more than 57 years.

Born February 24, 1926 in Uniontown, OH, she was one of 14 children born to the late Jacob L. and Fannie (Sommers) Miller.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church. In her youth, she traveled with Volunteer Services and was a very active member of Stahl Mennonite Church. She also volunteered at Johnstown Christian School.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and traveling. She loved to send cards and letters and to make phone calls to her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Karen Loker and her husband, David Jr., of Harrisonburg, VA, Lois Thomas of Telford and Bruce Thomas and his wife, Joy, of Telford; her siblings, Alta Miller, Grace Gingerich, Calvin Miller, Catherine Hartzler, Floyd Miller, James Miller, Ruth Pankratz, Jacob Miller Jr., Martin Miller, Virginia Fenske and Glenn Mille; her grandchildren, Trey, Jeannie, Ryan and Anika; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy Miller and Willis Miller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service, Tuesday, September 25, at 7 PM from the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, PA 18911, where friends may call for the viewing from 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be Wednesday, September 26 at 10 AM at the church cemetery. Arrangements are by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., Franconia.

BEATRICE KNIGHT

Beatrice M. Knight, 75, of Hatfield died Oct. 10, 2007 at Brittany Pointe Estates in Upper Gwynedd where she had been a resident of 1-1/2 years. She had lived on Pine Street in Hatfield for 50 years.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the West Oak Lane section, she was the daughter of the late Stephen F. and Irene Owens Imms. Mrs Knight graduated from Little Flower High School in Phila.

She had worked at Merck, Sharpe and Dohme in West Point for 25 years in production and custodial work.

Mrs. Knight was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale.

She also was a member of the PEAK senior center in Lansdale and was a 50 year member of the Sewing Club.

Her husband Dale G. Knight died in May, 1999.

Surviving is a daughter, Theresa M. McLaughlin and her husband, Doug, of Hatfield; a son Paul Knight and his wife, Cheryl, of Barto; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded by a son James D. Knight in 1980 and a brother Stephen D. Imms

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10AM at St. Stanislaus Church, E. Main St. and Lansdale Ave., Lansdale where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Assn., 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 would be preferred.

REGINA KEVIN

Regina L. Kevin, age 94, a resident of the Lutheran Community at Telford, died Wednesday evening, October 10, 2007 at the skilled nursing unit of the facility. She was the wife of the late John M. Kevin, Sr.

Born in Galeton, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Louise (Bieser) Wilcox. She had resided in Colmar for many years prior to moving to Telford 19 years ago.

Mrs. Kevin was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lansdale. She had been a 50 year member of the Colmar Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary, and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pricilla Chapter No. 64 in Lansdale, serving as Worthy Matron in 1950.

She had worked for 33 years for the Department of the Navy, finishing her career as the secretary for the Commandant at the former Marine Corps Supply Depot in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Kevin is survived by a daughter, Bea Graham and her husband, Harold, of Hatfield; a son, John M. Kevin, Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Pennsburg; a brother, Leslie Wilcox and his wife, Katherine, of Long Branch, NJ; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two  daughters, Vivian and Catherine Graham; and five brother and a sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, October 15, 10 AM, at Kligge Funeral Home, Inc., 464 S. Main St., (Rt. 463), Hatfield. There will be a viewing from 9 AM, and an Eastern Star service at 9:45 AM prior to the religious service. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery, Hughesville. For those desiring, memorial contributions sent to Order of the Eastern Star, Pricilla Chapter No. 64, c/o Bertha Gerhart, 1 First St., Hatfield, PA 19440 are preferred by the family.

Karoline H. (Kissel) Nelson, age 83, of Hatfield, died Dec. 9, 2007 at Paradise Manor, where she resided.

MARY HUEY
Mary P. Huey, 86, a longtime resident of Lansdale, formerly of Pottsville, died Dec. 8, 2007, in her home.

CHARLIE GIMBRONE
Charlie Gimbrone, 60, of Lansdale, formerly of Buffalo, NY, died Dec. 9, 2007 in Central Montgomery Medical Center.

KENNETH GERBER
Kenneth Howard Gerber, 47, died Nov. 27, 2007 at Alaska Regional Hospital. Services were held Dec. 1 at Anchorage Baptist Church.

CARL FISHER
Carl W. Fisher, 76, of Montgomery Township passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Ella Fisher.

JOSEPH ERTHAL
Joseph W. Erthal, 60, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at his residence in Hilltown.

HELEN BOYLE
Helen R. Boyle, 96, of St. Mary Manor, died Dec. 9, 2007, at her residence.

THERESE BLACKSHAW
Therese B. Blackshaw, 81, of Hatfield, died Dec. 9, 2007 at Central Montgomery Medical Center. Her husband is Arnold E. “Blackie” Blackshaw.

RICHARD BARWIS III
Richard L. Barwis III, 90, of Lansdale and a former, long-term resident of Erdenheim, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.

KATHRYN BENNER
Kathryn (Alderfer) Benner, 88, of Earlington, went home to be with her Lord Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at her residence.

SHARON HICKS
Sharon A. Hicks, a 30-year resident of Hatfield, died Dec. 8, 2007. She was the beloved wife of Larry R. Hicks.

ROSALIA YODER
Rosalia Yoder, 86, a longtime Upper Gwynedd resident, died Dec. 8, 2007 in Central Montgomery Medical Center, Hatfield Twp.

LILLIAN FELECITTI
Lillian M. (Venezia) Felecitti, 87, wife of the late Anthony J. Felecitti, of Lansdale, formerly of Norristown, died Thursday evening, December 6, 2007.

Sallie S. Clemens, 99, formerly of Souderton, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 in Dock Woods Community in Towamencin Twp.

Janet Elaine (Handschin) Alderfer, 65, of Silverdale, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at her residence.

Dr. Arthur E. Falk, 82, formerly of Lansdale, died Dec. 3, 2007 at his home in Jensen Beach, FL.
