C. Marie Heinbaugh

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - C. Marie Heinbaugh, 47, of 3063 Fort Loudon Road, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Feb. 1, 1951, in Cove Gap, Pa., she was the daughter of Ralph E. and Ruth Fritz Pine of Mercersburg.

She was a homemaker and assisted her husband as a bookkeeper in the operation of Robert E. Heinbaugh Masonry Inc., Mercersburg.

She was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg.

She hunted and fished.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert E. Heinbaugh Sr.; one daughter, Nora J. Heinbaugh of Chambersburg; two sons, Robert E. Heinbaugh Jr. and Jason S. Heinbaugh, both of Mercersburg; three sisters, Virginia Fisher of Fort Loudon, Pa., Helen Glessner of Chambersburg and Sharon Martin of Mercersburg; three brothers, Bruce P. Pine, Ronald E. Pine and Robert A. Pine, all of Mercersburg; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God, 6701 Charlestown Road, Mercersburg. The Rev. Kelly Shope and the Rev. James R. Utermoehlen will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon.

The viewing will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Clayton Memorial Church of God, 6701 Charlestown Road, Mercersburg, Pa. 17236.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg.

Foom Y. Louie

PAOLI, Pa. - Foom Y. "Jack" Louie, 83, a resident of Mainline Nursing Home, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at the nursing home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Hong Kong.

He came to the United States in 1935.

He owned and operated the Eagle Chinese Restaurant in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Chinese Christian Church in Philadelphia.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yip Chun Hung Louie of Philadelphia; two  daughters, Toy Pin Mark of Valley Forge, Pa., and Toy Ngor Quan of Philadelphia; three sons, Ling Louie of Hagerstown, Ying Kowk Louie of Woodbridge, Va., and Leong Hing Louie of Lutherville, Md.; and grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 24, at Chinese Christian Church in Philadelphia. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Pa.

Arrangements were by John R. Deady Funeral Home, Philadelphia.

Beverly M. Gilbert

DEARING, Ga. - Beverly May Thomas Gilbert, 55, of 3573 Hillman Gay Road South East, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at her home.

Born in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of Edwin Thomas and Mildred Thomas of Hagerstown.

She retired as morning manager at Axon's Mini Mart.

She is survived by her husband, William Gilbert; a daughter, Tina Churchey of Dearing; two sons, William Gilbert of Jacksonville, Fla., and Greg Gilbert of Hagerstown; two sisters, Shirley Bartgis of Westminster, Calif., and Darlene Snyder of Hagerstown; three brothers, Ed Thomas Jr. and Mike Thomas, both of Hagerstown, and Henry Thomas of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services were Monday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. at Starling Funeral Home in Harlem, Ga. The Rev. Jimmy Robbins Jr. officiated. Burial was in Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice Care, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Ga. 30910.

Genevieve D. Burke

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Genevieve D. Burke, 75, of 1790 Wisteria Drive, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at her home.

Born July 21, 1923, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sally Demas Brisco.

Her husband, Benjamin Burke, died in 1961.

She was employed as an explosives operator at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of John Wesley AME Zion Church.

She was a former daughter of Laurel Lodge IBPOE of Women, Lodge 133, in Chambersburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Zada A. Burke of Chambersburg; three sisters, Viola Quivers and Lorraine Jenkins, both of Chambersburg, and Kathleen Robinson of Fayetteville, Pa.; a brother, Chester E. Brisco of Harrisburg, Pa.; a grandson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Leroy A. Blair will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mabel L. Griffith

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mabel Louise Griffith, 81, of 6626 Irvine Drive, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Nov. 19, 1916, in Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Lillie Bosserman Selser.

Her husband, A. Roy Griffith, died in 1989.

She had been employed in the Franklin County Courthouse.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg. She also was a member of the Woman's Association of the church.

She was a member of Mercersburg Woman's Club and the former Fortnightly Bridge Club of Mercersburg.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Jane Morrison of Baltimore and Natalie Freed of Rochester, N.Y.; five nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Myers; and two brothers, William H. Selser and Edward Selser.

Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg. The Rev. Michael K. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.

Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg, 34 W. Seminary St., Mercersburg, Pa. 17236.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg.

Edna V. Clever

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Edna V. Clever, 49, of 200 Faust St., and formerly of 10344 Kasiesville Road, Mercersburg, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Oct. 15, 1948, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Viola Mullenix Hawbaker.

Her husband, Melvin E. Clever Sr., died in 1994.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mount Tabor Brethren in Christ Church of Mercersburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa V. Miller of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, Melvin E. Clever Jr. of Greencastle; two sisters, Frances Reed of Greencastle and Esther Seiders of Mercersburg; three brothers, Robert Hawbaker of Quincy, Pa., and Charles Hawbaker Jr. and Donald Hawbaker, both of Mercersburg; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Mount Tabor Brethren in Christ Church, Punchbowl Road, Mercersburg. The Revs. Roy E. Brake Sr. and Ronald Lynch will officiate. Burial will be in Welsh Run Brethren Cemetery, Welsh Run, Pa.

Viewing will be held at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Donald E. Barnhart

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Donald E. "Barney" Barnhart, 46, of Hustontown, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born May 31, 1952, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Isaac and Mary Truax Barnhart of Wells Tannery, Pa.

He was employed by Safety Kleen Inc. as a truck driver.

He was a member of Hustontown Church of God.

He also was a member of Mercersburg American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy M. Reihart, whom he married Feb. 23, 1974; three children, Kimberly Stouffer of Fayetteville, Pa., Cathy Jo Barnhart of Chambersburg and Junell Barnhart of Hustontown; a sister, Linda Koser of Lemasters, Pa.; three brothers, Junior Barnhart, Ronald Barnhart and Robert Barnhart, all of Wells Tannery; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. The Rev. John Warner will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, Harrisonville, Pa.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Ardella M. Dowlin

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Ardella Mae Zeigler Dowlin, 78, a resident of Piney Mountain Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 6, 1920, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George and Susan Kinley Zeigler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick J. Dowlin, in 1977. They were married March 8, 1947.

She worked at Waynesboro Knitting Mill. Before that, she worked for Stanley Co., Chambersburg.

She is survived by four  daughters, Mary L. Wertner of Waynesboro, Betty L. Young of Hagerstown, Cynthia M. Morris of Hummelstown, Pa., and Donna L. Cleveland of Greencastle, Pa.; three sons, John W. Morrow of Rouzerville, Pa., Charles F. Morrow and Paul R. Dowlin, both of Waynesboro; three half sisters, Dorothy Brunner, Martha Butts and Virginia Harbaugh, all of Waynesboro; a stepsister, Pansy Hann of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Powell; three stepbrothers; and a half brother.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Chaplain Keith M. Sider will officiate. Burial will be in Price's Church Cemetery near Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Edna S. Clevenger

NEEDMORE, Pa. - Edna S. Clevenger, 89, of Needmore, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born April 27, 1909, in Burnt Cabins, Pa., she was the daughter of the late L.D. and Lydia Mentzer Keebaugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce H. Clevenger, in 1978.

She was a housewife.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Needmore.

She is survived by two sons, Earl W. Clevenger and Boyd C. Clevenger, both of Needmore; two sisters, Mary Blair of Chambersburg, Pa., and Nellie Clark of Greencastle, Pa.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; three stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Clevenger Hess; two sisters; five brothers; and a granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Needmore. Pastors William Swope and Charles Gummo will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Needmore.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa.; and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
