Norma J. Fencil

September 14, 1930 - October 28, 2003

Norma J. Fencil, 73 formerly of Thorn Drive, Butler, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 10:05 a.m. at Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Born September 14, 1930 she was the daughter of Howard Love and Martha Rettig.

She was a homemaker and a member of Christ Outreach Church.

Surviving are four sons, Bruce Fencil and Kevin Fencil of Butler, Pennsylvania, Paul Fencil of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Scott Fencil of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Seven Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, Four sisters, Mrs. Verna Mae Ramsey of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Carney of Lyndora, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Leland (Mary) Murphy of Rimersburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Elizabeth Scarnato of Butler, Pennsylvania, one brother, Richard Love, of Newry, Pennsylvania and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fencil was preceded in death by her husband Wayne R. Fencil, who passed away on April 10, 2000 and an infant brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, October 30, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, October 31, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Memorial donates may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15235 or to Christ Outreach Church, 120 Walker Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Paul E. "Joe" Faulk

May 1, 1912 - November 21, 2003

Paul E. "Joe" Faulk, 91 of Butler, died Friday, November 21, 2003 in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 1, 1912 in Butler, PA, he was the son of George Edwin Faulk and Pearl C. Steare.

Mr. Faulk was employed as a shop carpenter for Dillich Lumber Company and Busy Beaver Lumber Company and he retired in 1970. Following his retirement, he was self-employed until 1985.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and WWII and he served with the 8th Air Doom Squadron in North Africa. Mr. Faulk also served in India with the 14th Air Corp "Flying Tigers" with General Chenault, on the Burma-China border for two years.

Surviving are his wife, Bonita A. "Bonnie” Doverspike Faulk who he married on April 27, 1946, a son, Richard D. Faulk and a daughter, Paula J. Hurley both of San Diego, CA, three grandchildren, three nieces and five nephews. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Monday November 24, 2003 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday November 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Butler Area Public Library, 218 North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001.

Julia Cuffman

October 31, 1908 - November 15, 2003

Julia Cuffman, 95 of Butler, died Saturday, November 15, 2003 in Sunnyview Home.

Born October 31, 1908 in Lyndora, PA, she was the daughter of Shandan Doctor and Julie Wals.

During WW11, Mrs. Cuffman was employed in the Pullman Standard Shop and she also worked at the Spade Shirt Factory. She was a licensed practical nurse and she practiced private duty care in the Butler area. She was a member of the L.P.N. Association.

Surviving are her two sons, Donald L. Cuffman and Earl L. Cuffman both of Butler, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, a brother, Geza Doctor of Renfrew, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Earl L. Cuffman, Sr. who died August 10, 1976, one grandson, one sister and four brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Monday November 17, 2003 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Monday November 17, 2003 at 9:00 p.m with the Reverend Dennis Molnar officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates on Tuesday November 18, 2003.

Keith Ryan Chuhra

January 31, 1982 - October 6, 2003

Keith Ryan Chuhra, age 21of Shelocta, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 6:40 p.m. as a result of an automobile accident.

Born January 31, 1982 he was the son of Barry M. Chuhra of Sarver, Pennsylvania and Kimberly A. Smart Adams of Ford City, Pennsylvania.

He was a graduate of Butler Intermediate High School and Glen Mills Academy. He was very active in Butler Area Baseball and Butler Area Midget Football and enjoyed fishing. Keith was employed as a landscaper with Ellenberger Lawn Care.

Keith is survived by his father, Barry M. Chuhra of Sarver, Pennsylvania and his mother, Kimberly A. Smart Adams of Ford City, Pennsylvania, one brother, Craig M.Chuhra with whom he made his home, two sisters Amanda Sims Chuhra and Leanna Sims Chuhra of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, his maternal grandparents David and Joanne Ellenberger of Butler, Pennsylvania, his maternal great-grandfather, Donald Stewart, three aunts: Dawna McDeavitt of Lyndora, Pennsylvania, Sharon Hall and Amy Blair of Butler, Pennsylvania, one uncle, Jim Smart and his wife Gretchen of Butler,
three cousins: Timothy McDeavitt of Lyndora, Ethan and Devan Smart of Butler, Pennsylvania, three aunts, one great aunt and three great uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather and great grandmother.

Friends and Family of Keith Chuhra will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. on Friday, October 10, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be from the funeral home on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Richard Jenks of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Cochrans Mills cemetery.

The Family Of Keith Chuhra suggests donations be made to aide in the funeral costs to The Thompson- Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Anna G. Camp

November 23, 1922 - November 5, 2003

Anna G. Camp, 80 of Butler, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in Sunnyview Home.

Born November 23, 1922 in Foxburg, PA, she was the daughter of Charles E. Gerber and Edna Ion.

Mrs. Camp was employed as an elementary schoolteacher for Foxburg, Institute Hill and McQuiston schools.

She was a member of Butler Chapter # 45 of the Order Of The Eastern Star, Butler Retired Teachers, and Pennsylvania Retired Schoolteachers. Mrs. Camp was a former member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls governing council and a past mother advisor.

Surviving are her husband John N. Camp, Jr., whom she married August 24, 1946 and her daughter, Johnanna Camp of Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Preceding her in death was her aunt.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, from Saturday November 8, 2003 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday November 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Allegheny Church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to be made to The Alzheimer's Association, One Station Square, The Landmarks Building, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or to the charity of the donors' choice.

Pearl E. Broad

August 10, 1909 - November 8, 2003

Pearl E. Broad, 94 of Mineral Point, Madison, Wisconsin, formerly of American Avenue, Butler died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Oakwood Retirement Community, Madison, Wisconsin.

Born August 10, 1909 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John Harrison and Jane Broadbent.

She was retired as an administrative assistant for Sunnyview Nursing Home. She attended North Main Street Church of God. Mrs. Broad was a former Judge of Elections for the city of Butler for many years.

Mrs. Broad is survived by two daughters, Judith E. Broad of Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Hurley of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Two Grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband Charles F. Broad, who passed away in 1988, one sister and one brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Kenneth C. Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Helen A. Brier

January 22, 1915 - September 5, 2003

Helen A. Brier, 88 of Nashua, New Hampshire died Friday, September 5, 2003 in Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Mass.

Born January 22, 1915 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Hyman L. Abes and Jennie Swartz.

She was a homemaker. She was a former member of Congregation B'Nai Abraham; and B'Nai Abraham Sisterhood. Mrs. Brier was a life member of Hadassah, Butler Chapter; and council of Jewish Women. She was a member of the Butler Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary and had previously served as a volunteer.

Surviving are three nieces, Paula Rossen Taylor of Nashua, New Hampshire, Rosalind Abes Fields of Pittsford, New York, Claire London of Reston, Virginia, two nephews, Dr. James Rossen of Carmel, California, Dr. Marshall Abes of Atlanta, Georgia, and three Great Nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Isador Brier, who passed away on September 28, 1970.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Cantor Adriane Caplowe Officiating. Interment will follow in B'Nai Abraham cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, One Station Square, the Landmarks Building, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219 or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, New York, 10605.

James C. Bowser

December 17, 1930 - October 28, 2003

James C. Bowser, 72 of Garden Grove Drive, Butler, died at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born December 17, 1930 in Renfrew, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Henry Bowser and Hazel Nicklas.

He worked as a riveter for Pullman Standard Co. Mr. Bowser was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean War.

Mr. Bowser is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Barnes Bowser whom he married on December 17, 1954, three sons, William Bowser of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, Gary Bowser of Brackenridge, Pennsylvania, Larry Bowser of Mobile, Alabama, one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Linda) Strella of Butler, Pennsylvania, Six Grandchildren, one brother, Glenn Bowser of San Angelo, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. Merle (Ruth) Wright of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ted (Joan) Mathias of Harrisville, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was one brother.

There will be no public visitation.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow in Summit United Presbyterian cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
