William E. Johnson, 72, of Mt. Pleasant RD7, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Darrell Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

Virginia M. Kahl, Latrobe

Virginia M. Kahl, 100, of Latrobe, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at her home. She was born Oct. 22, 1899, in Mt. Braddock, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Barron Herha. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, and its Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William J. Kahl; six sisters ; a brother; and four grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters , Virginia Krinock, Dolores Couch and Rita Robinsky and her husband, Thomas, all of Latrobe, and Marie Markwood and her husband, Carl, of Sacramento, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Unity Township.

Mary Kovac Lakatosh, Irwin

Mary Kovac Lakatosh, 92, of Irwin, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Jeannette. She was born Sept. 20, 1907, in Westmoreland City, a daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Bartik) Kovac. She was a cafeteria worker in Norwin School District. She was a member of Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church and Norwin School District Retirees Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julias George Lakatosh; a son, Richard J. Lakatosh; a brother, Paul Kovac; and two sisters , Julia Krusper and Pauline Sherback. Survived by two sons , Paul G. Lakatosh (wife, Esther) of North Huntingdon and Barry L. Lakatosh (wife, Gloria) of North Huntingdon; a daughter, Valerie M. Waugaman (husband, Bill) of North Huntingdon; a daughter-in-law, Doris Lakatosh of Irwin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. George Hanko officiating. Interment Irwin Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church.

Thomas Edward Lash, Douglasville, Ga.

Thomas Edward Lash, of Douglasville, Ga., died Friday, June 23, 2000. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, July 29, 2000, at 7 p.m. in the Herminie United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Hildbold officiating.

Father Aidan Lucko OFM Cap., McCandless, Formerly of Lawrenceville

Father Aidan Lucko OFM Cap., 86, died on Sunday, July 16, 2000 in Vincentian Nursing Home, McCandless. He was born on October 23, 1913 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John J. Lucko and Anna Pemcak Lucko. Fr. Aidan attended elementary school at St. Augustine School in Lawrenceville and graduated from St. Fidelis College in 1934. He entered the novitiate for Capuchin life in 1934 in Herman, Pa., and professed his first vows on August 25, 1935. He prefessed his perpetual vows on August 25, 1938. He was ordained into the priesthood on June 10, 1940. After his ordination Fr. Aiden continued his studies in theology at Capuchin College, Washington , D.C., in 1941, and at the Catholic University in Washington , D.C., where he received his master's degree in Economics in 1946. Father Aidan taught school for nine years, three at St. Joseph School in Hays, Kansas, and six years at St. Mary School in Herman, Pa. In 1963 he relocated to Charleston, W.Va., serving at the Sacred Heart Parish. The parish was staffed by the Capuchin Franciscan Friars at that time. Father Aiden returned to St. Augustine and served as Hospital Chaplain for two years. During the 1970s, Fr. Aiden served as pastor for St. Elizabeth Parish in Roswell, Ohio, and was then reassigned to St. Ann in Grantsville, Md. where he served as pastor for eight years. In 1984 he returned to Pennsylvania and served at St. Cecelia, Beaver County, as the Administrator at St. Pudentiana Church for five years. In 1991, Fr. Aiden came to St. Augustine Friary, Lawrenceville, where he remained until 1997, when, due to illness, he relocated to Vincentian Nursing Home, McCandless. Friends will be received at St. Augustine Friary Chapel, 221 36th St., Lawrenceville from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Friends will also be received from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of the Angels, St. Augustine Church, Lawrenceville. The Eucharistic Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Augustine Church, Lawrenceville. Interment will be in the Friar's Plot, St. Augustine Cemetery, Shaler. Arrangements by DANIEL T. D'ALESSANDRO, LTD., Butler at 46th Sts., Lawrenceville. The Capuchin Franciscan Friars request memorial contributions be made to The Capuchin Sick and Elderly Fund, P.O. Box 15099, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

Helen Virginia McQuillan, Richland

Helen Virginia McQuillan, 87, died Sunday, July 16, 2000 in St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Richland. Born April 22, 1923 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Helen B. Conrad McQuillan. Miss McQuillan was a retired secretary who had worked for Blaw-Knox Steel and Dravo Corp. Survivors include a sister, Katherine Kurtz of Indiana Township; a brother, William McQuillan of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret McQuillan, and five brothers , James McQuillan, John McQuillan, Tom McQuillan, Phillip McQuillan and Robert McQuillan. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME, Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Hampton. Christian Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Middle Road, Hampton, with the Rev. John Marcucci as celebrant. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery of St. Mary, Hampton.

Margaret Baker Morris, formerly of Penn, Jeannette and Greensburg

Margaret Baker Morris, 83, formerly of Penn, Jeannette and Greensburg, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at her daughter's home. She was born in Claridge, April 18, 1917, and was the daughter of the late William and Cora Barron Baker. She was a former employee for 30 years with the Bellevue-Lee Thompson-Fawcett Co., and was a member of the Penn Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Raymond Morris; and a sister, Hattie Dornin. She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Morris Kepple and her husband, C. William, of New Alexandria RD2; two sisters , Elizabeth Lohr of Somerset and Dorothy Westwood of Level Green; four grandchildren, Kim Mertz and husband, Bob, William Kepple and wife, Kathy, Kathy Gwynn and husband, Tim, and Donald Kepple and wife, Jennifer, all of New Alexandria; and 10 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Darlene Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park. Terence L. Graft, funeral director, in charge of the arrangements. The family wishes memorial donations to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601.

Clifford Ogg, Irwin

Clifford "Bud" Ogg, 72, of Irwin (Sewickley Township), died Monday, July 17, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Sewickley Township, a son of the late John and Essie (Ashley) Ogg. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ogg "Bud" was employed by Westinghouse Air Brake as a millwright with 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during peacetime. Mr. Ogg "Bud" was a member of the Norwin Christian Church, North Huntingdon, and also Shidle Lodge #601, F&AM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Doris Ogg and Thelma Peters. Mr. Ogg "Bud" is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jennie (Fiume) Ogg; two sons , Gary and his wife, Cheryl, of West Newton and Jay and his wife, Terri, of Jeannette; three daughters , Karen Weyandt and her husband, Charles, of New Alexandria, Janet Cody Breitinger and her husband, Jay, of Irwin, and Teri Guerrieri and her husband, Charles of Jeannette; four grandchildren, Jill Soltis, Charles Weyandt Jr., Gary Ogg Jr., and Jennifer Guerrieri; two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Haley Soltis; two brothers , James and Jesse Ogg, both of Rillton; two sisters , Vira May Leksell of Avonmore and Evelyn Reidmiller of Rillton; also a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Kaser officiating. Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery, Sewickley Township.

Catherine M. Pascarella, Pittsburgh

Catherine M. Pascarella, 82, died Saturday, July 15, 2000. She was born April 10, 1918, in Pittsburgh. She was a retired teller for Mellon Bank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pascarella. She is survived by two daughters , Norma Jackson and Roberta Renk; a sister, Frances Sunseri; a brother, Anthony Malpede; and five grandchildren, Tracey Goldberg, Robert Wolfe, Lisa Penaloza, Lynn Jackson and Robert Renk. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 11735 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church at 1O a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. John Peanoske, Export

John Peanoske, 79, of Export, died Sunday, July 16, 2000. Born Nov. 2, 1920, in Washington County, a son of the late Adam and Pauline Zeyzus Pijanuski. John was a retired employee of Coco brothers and Dick Corp. He was a member of the D.A.V. of Turtle Creek, the L.O.O.M. #234, the American Legion Post #858, and the sons of Columbus, all of Export, and the S.N.P.J. in Jeannette. Mr. Peanoske was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps and was a recipient of two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, and was a P.O.W. for 22 months. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Peonoske; and two sisters , Sally Belak and Mary Trenski. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Stella Wadrose Peanoske; two sisters , Genevieve Kochanowski of Shaler Township and Lucy Bratkovich and husband, Martin, of Claridge; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m. at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Dismas Young officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Export.

Helen Pishko, Sewickley, formerly of Ambridge

Helen Pishko, 74, of Sewickley, formerly of Ambridge, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Sewickley Valley Hospital. She was born March 13, 1926, in Slickville, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Pishko. She attended Bell Township High School, Selina, and was a retiree of Pittsburgh National Bank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers , Frank, Joseph, Michael and Andrew Pishko; and two sisters , Ann Kubick and Mildred Pishko. Surviving are four nephews and five nieces, William and Mark Kubick of Baden, Theodore and Loretta Pishko of Derry, Barbara Hollick of New Alexandria, and Michelle, Gregory, Denise and Susan Pishko; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Pishko of Minnesota. Also 10 great-nephews and great-nieces; and eight great-great-nephews and -nieces. Private interment will be held in Grandview Cemetery. The JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary (Phillips) Ritter, Carnegie

Mary (Phillips) Ritter, of Carnegie, died Monday, July 17, 2000. She was the wife of the late Harry (Bud) Ritter and the aunt of Carl L. Phillips of Mt. Lebanon, Dr. Joseph Phillips of Gloucester, Va., Mary Ann Sherwin of Hollidaysburg, Pa., Marilyn Radcliffe of Baldwin and many neices and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood. A funeral prayer will be at 9 a.m. Thursday followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Sts. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Greentree Road. Robert F. Ruggiero, Greensburg

Robert F. Ruggiero, 65, of Greensburg, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at his home. He was born June 20, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of Anna Mary Johnson Ruggiero, of Trafford, and the late Daniel Ruggiero. Prior to retirement he had been employed by the Jeannette Glass Co. He had attended the church of St. Paul, Greensburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Fort Allen V.F.D. and a former member of the Harrison City V.F.D. and Level Green V.F.D. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Straka Ruggiero; two sons , Daniel C. and his wife, Edith Ruggiero, of Jeannette; Dennis R. Ruggiero of Boynton Beach, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Michelle R. and her husband, Barry D. Nagy, of Newark, Ohio; and Pamela S. Webb, of Del Ray, Fla.; four grandchildren, Crystal L. Ruggiero, Daniel K. Ruggiero, Corissa K. Nagy and Zachary T. Nagy. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
