Donald W. Huntley

Donald W. "Tig" Huntley, 86, of Waynesburg, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, October 1, 2010, in Berwick Hospital Center.

He was born January 5, 1924, in Revere, a son of the late Jack B. and Anna Rammage Huntley.

Mr. Huntley was a 1941 graduate of Cumberland Township High School.

After high school, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps and then worked at Crucible Mine.

Mr. Huntley served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Panama as an x-ray technician, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.

After returning to the coal mines, he joined the Bureau of Mines in 1959 and eventually became a district manager in the Pittsburgh office for the Mine Safety and Health Administration, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Free Masons, the American Legion and was given the honor of "Kentucky Colonel" by the State of Kentucky.

On September 25, 1946, he married Evelyn Maxwell Huntley, who died June 18, 2009.

His family was the most important part of his life. His wife, Evelyn, their three sons, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as his parents, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces were his treasures. He touched their lives and the lives of many others through his love, caring and generosity.

Surviving are three sons, James Huntley and wife Jamie of Berwick, Donald Huntley Jr. and wife Jean of Kittanning and Robert Huntley and wife Pam of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norene Miller of Warren, Ohio, and Jean Martof of Sharon.

Deceased, in addition to his wife, are four sisters and two brothers.

Phoebe Staggers Eisiminger

Phoebe Staggers Eisiminger, 75, of Waynesburg, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

She was born Tuesday, July 30, 1935, in Whiteley Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Randolph and Flora Patterson Staggers.

Mrs. Eisiminger was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the women's society.

She was a volunteer at South West Regional Medical Center Gift Shop and also at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home.

Mrs. Eisiminger had worked as a seamstress at Flushing Pajama Factory and also at Greenway Outlet Store, both in Waynesburg. She also worked as a clerk at Christopher Banks Clothing Store and Sears, both in Morgantown, W.Va.

She was a homemaker.

On October 15, 1955, she married Bernard A. Eisiminger, who died June 8, 2007.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Holly and Steve Johnson of Waynesburg; two grandsons; a sister, Laura Meighen of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Carrie Louise Simpson, and two half brothers, Hugh Staggers and Earl Staggers.

Mark R. King

Mark R. King, 51, of Graysville, formerly of Pittsburgh, died at 5:17 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010, surrounded by his family, after being seriously ill since March with an inoperable brain tumor.

He was born April 21, 1959, in Pittsburgh, a son of Margaret June Dennison King of Graysville and the late Robert (Bud) James King.

Mr. King had resided in the Pittsburgh area most of his life, prior to moving to Graysville in 1995.

He was Catholic.

Mr. King was a 1977 graduate of Hilltop Catholic High School in Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed hunting and cutting gemstones, as long as his health permitted. He was an assistant at Braddock Cemetery and Sam Wilson's garage in Graysville.

Mr. King was employed as a surveyor in the Houston, Texas, area for two to three years, prior to his last employment as a surveyor with Monaloh Basin Engineers in Pittsburgh.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are three brothers, John, husband of Ellen King of Watertown, N.Y., Phillip, husband of Mary King of Pittsburgh and Edward, husband of Audrey King of Graysville; four sisters, Betty King of Mt. Laguna, Calif., Dorothy, wife of George Coptis of Carnegie, Alice, wife of Mark Coptis of Graysville and Roberta, wife of Robert Molinaro of Eagen, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank Michael Rizno

Frank Michael Rizno, 69, of Beaver Falls, formerly of Mather, died Monday, October 4, 2010, in Beaver Medical Center.

Mr. Rizno was born March 10, 1941, in Mather, a son of the late Frank L. and Margaret Kubichar Rizno.

Mr. Rizno worked as a darkroom X-ray assistant in Washington Hospital. He was an avid Steelers fan and was very devoted to his grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, a son, Michael Alan Rizno, and a daughter, Lisa Marie Rizno, both of Beaver Falls; three grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Yocabet (Joseph) of Waynesburg and Elayne Hoge (Jerry) of Jefferson; a brother, John C. Rizno (Judy), Jefferson; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hopton of Mather; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, deceased is a sister, Darlene Hopton.

Lucille A. Carnock

Lucille A. Carnock, 74, of Jefferson, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, in her home.

She was born January 20, 1936, in Mooresville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lester Ernest Wright and Myrtle Taylor.

A homemaker, Mrs. Carnock lived in Jefferson for six months and in Florida for six months of the year.

She attended Mather Christian Church and Jefferson Senior Citizens Center.

On March 10, 1956, she married August "Gus" Carnock Jr., who survives.

Also surviving are four children, August "Gus" Carnock III of Castle Creek, N.Y., Debbie Carnock of Sebastian, Fla., Connie Borton of Wake Forest, N.C., and Chris Carnock of Okeechobee, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother, Ernest "Bud" Wright.

Helen C. Kosanovich

Helen C. Kosanovich, 82, of Indiana, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in Communities at Indian Haven.

She was born in 1928 in Clearfield County, a daughter of P. Curtis and Alverda Duttrey Harris.

Mrs. Kosanovich was a member of Grace United Methodist Chruch and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 1989, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 493 Homer City and AARP.

A graduate of the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Indiana Hospital and at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital for a total of 33 years, until her retirement in 1983.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah L. Mock of Homer City and Kathy K. Higgins of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; a sister, Florence Avonell Wheeler of Raleigh, N.C.; and a niece and three nephews.

Deceased are her parents; her husband, George S. Kosanovich in 1996; an infant sister, Hilda Harris; and two sons-in-law, Chester M. Mock Jr. and William G. Higgins.

Shawna D. Ohler

Shawna D. Ohler, 26, of Crucible, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, in her home.

She was born April 24, 1984, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of Sinibaldo R. and Clarisa Harris Ohler of Crucible.

Ms. Ohler was a 2002 Carmichaels Area High School graduate.

She was a staff sergeant with the 630th Transportation Company of Hiller and served in Iraq.

Ms. Ohler also had worked as a security guard.

She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Crucible, American Legion, Washington, and had a black belt in karate.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a son, Sinibaldo R. Ohler; and a sister, Clarisa Ohler of Rices Landing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Behm Funeral Home, P.O. Box 440, Jefferson, PA 15344.

Joy A. Nardis

Joy A. Nardis, 72, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born March 8, 1938, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Homer H. and Ferne Bradbury Adamson.

Mrs. Nardis was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.

She worked as a clerk at Fisher's Big Wheel in Waynesburg.

Mrs. Nardis was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 888 in Waynesburg and the Sewing Club in Uniontown.

She was affectionately known as "Grammy Joy." She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She also loved her flowers and sewing.

On March 6, 1983, she married Donald R. "Punch" Nardis, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Dale Basinger of Jefferson, Rita Falcon and husband Ron of Rices Landing and Gary Basinger and wife Lora of Jefferson; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; four sisters, Florence Black of Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley Basinger and husband Wayne of Waynesburg, Doris Basinger and husband Bill of Waynesburg and Carol Keys and husband Tom of Jefferson; and a brother, Glenn Adamson of Waynesburg.

Deceased are three brothers, Lloyd Adamson, Ralph Adamson and Alvin Adamson.

Loraine O. Neff Kelley

Loraine O. Neff Kelley, 93, of Waynesburg, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born Monday, January 15, 1917, a daughter of the late Harry and Grace Neff.

Mrs. Kelley enjoyed bowling and was a sales clerk for G.C. Murphy Co. in Waynesburg for several years.

Surviving are a son, Harry and wife Helen Kelley of Spraggs; three sisters, Grace Bedilion and Josephine Jones, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charlotte of Florida; a brother, Robert Neff of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, George Kelley; a sister, Fostine; and two brothers, Chalmer and Jefferson H. Neff.

Florence L. Martin Filby

Florence L. Martin Filby of Garards Fort died Saturday, October 9, 2010, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

She was born August 5, 1931, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Robert G. and Pearle Settler Tate.

Mrs. Filby was a homemaker.

She had attended John Corbly Baptist Church, Garards Fort.

Mrs. Filby loved animals, fishing and playing bingo.

Surviving are her second husband, Ed Filby of Waynesburg; four sons, Bruce J. Martin of Jacobs Creek, Gary L. Martin of Waynesburg, Donald E. Martin of Nemacolin and Jeffrey R. Martin; four daughters, Sandra P. Spencer of Greensboro, Debra A. Berry of Waynesburg, Susan A. Berry of Clarksville and Cheryl L. McChesney of Greensboro; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Tate of Waynesburg, Benjamin Tate of Lippencott and Donald Tate of Carmichaels; and four sisters, Grace Booth of Graysville, Betty J. Kelly of Scenery Hill, Edith Basile of California and Patricia Tate of Los Angeles.

Deceased are her first husband, Blaine Martin; two sons, Blaine Martin Jr. and Duane Edward Martin; and a brother, William Tate.
