Elsie E. Klinger
Elsie E. Klinger, 83, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Williamstown, July 28, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Emma Reiner Shutt. She was a 1939 graduate of Williamstown High School.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a social member of Williamstown American Legion Post.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald T., who died Nov. 17, 1988.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas D. and Ronald P., both of Tower City, and James R. and Gary W., both of Williamstown; a daughter, Cynthia M. of Williamstown; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 13, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. Interment was be in the Methodist cemetery, Williamstown. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Sheldon R. Moyer
Sheldon Roger Moyer, 47, of Lisburn, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at home.

Born January 23, 1957 in Lykens, he was a son of the late Roger L. and Helen L. Warfield Moyer.

He was employed by Nabisco and was retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard after 20 years service. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Reinerton-Tower City; American Legion Post No. 109, Mechanicsburg; the Masonic Lodge, Pine Grove; member and former financial secretary of the Lisburn Fire Company; secretary-treasurer of the Fireman's Relief Association and a former EMT with Lower Allen Township Ambulance and Cumberland County Fire Police.

Surviving are his wife, Michelle A. Howe Moyer; a daughter, Rachel Moyer of York; a son, Caleb R. Moyer at home; a brother, Zachary L. Moyer and a sister, Christine M. Seiler, both of Tower City.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 44 West Main Street, Shiremanstown. Interment with military honors was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Lisburn Community Fire Company, 1800 Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Samuel W. Noecker Sr.
Samuel W. Noecker Sr., 73, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Pottsville Hospital.

Born in South Manheim Township, June 26, 1930, he was a son of the late William and Cora Yeich Noecker.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 4345 Service Battery, 70th AFA Battalion. He was awarded the Occupation Medal of Germany and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was last employed as a bus driver and custodian for Blue Mountain School District.

He was a member of Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James; and a sister, Ruth Leymeister.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Betty L. Blakeslee; five sons, Samuel Jr. of Red Lion, Richard of Bethel, and Charles, William, and Russell, all of Landingville; eight daughters, Florence Keeney of Felton, Virginia Viars of Pottsville, Joyce Noecker of West Virginia, Miriam Noecker of New Jersey, Faith Noecker, Elaine Sparrow and Michelle Kimmel, all of Auburn, and Vennetta Kramer of New Philadelphia; four brothers, Moses and Paul, both of Orwigsburg, Daniel of Bethel, and Thomas of Telford; four sisters, Martha Diebert, Mary Bartolett and Elizabeth Frantz, all of Schuylkill Haven, and Rachael Eberly of Lebanon; 32 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, from Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Calvin Roop and Elder Tim Alspach officiating. Interment was in Schuylkill Church of the Brethren cemetery. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Idabelle M. Raker
Idabelle M. Raker, 78, of Elizabethville, formerly of Millersburg RD, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Millersburg, March 19, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Helen Geistwhite Paul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Raker, who died April 28, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Paul of Gratz; four daughters, Esther Bordner of Berrysburg, Anna Mae Kristofits of Copley RD, Helen Maurer of Hebe, and Pauline Hawk of Gratz; a brother, Henry Paul of Elizabethville; two sisters, Ruth Barry of Bethlehem, and Grace Stence of Millersburg RD; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Religious services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Reinhard Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. G. Delmas Hock officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1500 North Second St., Harrisburg, PA 17102-2527. Reinhard Funeral Home, Millersburg, was inn charge of arrangements.

James N. Ranck Jr.
James N. Ranck, Jr., 70, of Halifax, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.

Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late James and Loretta Jamison Ranck, Sr.
He was a retired cabinet maker from Paulus Cabinets in Halifax. He was a member of the Halifax Archery Club and PSAA; he was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by a son, James N. Ranck III.

Surviving are his wife, Lois M. Barker Ranck; two sons, Paul E. of Elizabethtown and Brian E. of Halifax; a daughter, Wanda E. Duplessie of Millersburg; a sister, Edith Bricker of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 3211 N. Front Street, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Richard R. Seese
Richard R. Seese, 83, of Millersburg, formerly of Manheim, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in ManorCare of Carlisle.

Born May 11, 1920 in Ogletown, he was a son of the late Austin and Elizabeth Schoener Seese. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was a U.S. Army Sergeant in World War II; retired as a self-employed auto body repairman for several years in Mastersonville, and worked as a foreman-shoe cutter at the Kinney Shoe Plant in Millersburg for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn S. Williams Seese; three sons, James Seese of Alabama, Dale Seese of Cleona and Ronald Rothermel of Harrisburg; a daughter, Kay Gingrich of East Berlin; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Religious service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Reinhard Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Rev. Alison Grove and Rev. Gerry Gingrich officiating. Interment will be in Salem Lutheran cemetery, Killinger. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

M. Marie Stine
M. Marie Stine, 89, of Gratz, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Gratz, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Sally Klinger Umholtz.

She was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School. She retired from the former Dormar Manufacturing in Gratz. She was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church in Gratz, where she taught Sunday school for over thirty years. She was a charter member and tour guide for the Gratz Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Peter I. Stine; a brother, Marlin Umholtz and two sisters, Erma Witmer and Helen Kissinger.

Surviving are a son, Robert P. Stine of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Rebecca M. Hoover of Elizabethville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Friday, Feb. 13, at Simeon's United Lutheran Church, Gratz. Interment was in the adjacent Gratz Union cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church P.O. Box 478, Gratz, PA 17030 or to the Gratz Historical Society, P.O. Box 507, Gratz, PA 17030.

Raymond T. Williams
Raymond T. Williams, 80, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at home.

Born in Ashland, September 8, 1923, he was a son of the late Elmer and Edith Terril Williams.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the CBI Theater piloting a B-24 Liberation Bomber.

He was last employed as a mechanical designer for Alcoa, Cressona.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, Cressona Lodge F&AM; , Reading Consistory, Schuylkill Shrine Club and Rajah Temple.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lois Horlacher; three daughters, Donna Rhodes of Schaefferstown, Bonnie McGowan of Champaign, Ill., and Cheryl Gustitus of Cressona; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 13, from Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Cressona, with the Rev. Paul Buzzard officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Cressona, was in charge of arrangements.

Earl L. Zimmerman
Earl L. Zimmerman, 79, of Pitman, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born in Pitman, April 29, 1924, he was a son of the late Samuel Zimmerman and Pruella Herb Zimmerman Carpenter. He attended Hegins Township High School and Myerstown Theological Seminary.

He was a retired farmer and a former partner of Zimmerman Brothers, Pitman. He sold produce in the Kulpmont, Mount Carmel, Atlas and Lavelle areas prior to retiring in 1992.

He was a member of St. Paul's ECC, where he was a former board member and treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. He was a former member of the Christian Businessman's Association, Albright Brotherhood and Gideons International, Pottsville camp, Mahantongo Fire Company, Pitman, and the Woodmen of the World Lodge, Camp 433, Pitman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Charlotte M. Wolfgang, who died on Jan. 22, 1998; a brother, Leonard P., died on May 8, 1961.

Surviving are three sons, Robert L. of Pitman; Clifford R. of Burke, Va., and Harold P. of Pitman; a daughter, Virginia L. Haas of Klingerstown; a brother, F. Leon of Pitman; a sister, Faye Snyder of Camp Hill; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, from St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, with the Rev. Kenneth Schira officiating. Viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church cemetery, Pitman. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Verna A. Bowerman
Verna A. Bowerman, 98, formerly of Williamstown, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Chapel Point, Carlisle.

Born in Muir, February 16, 1905, she was a daughter of the late John and Maggie Degan Gable.

She was a retired seamstress from the Garment Industry.

She was a member of the Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown and a former member of the Williamstown Legion Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Percival Zerbe and Thomas Bowerman; a son, Arthur L. Zerbe; and three grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Marva L. Paul of Williamstown; a son, Solman C. Zerbe of Jersey Shore; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from her church, with the Rev. Donald Morgantini officiating. Interment was in the St. Peters cemetery, Orwin.

Memorial donations may be made to her church, Route 209, Williamstown, PA 17098. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Resta E. Deibler
Resta E. Deibler, 100, a life long resident of Berrysburg, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at home.

Born May 20, 1903 in Berrysburg, she was a daughter of Charles and Clara Sultzbaugh Wise.

She was pianist for the Evangelical Congregational Church for 15 years; a member of Peace U.C.C. and the church choir until age 91; a member of the Glen Chapter No. 425, Order of Eastern Star; and Secretary of the Sweitzer Memorial cemetery Association, Berrysburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John G. Deibler.

Surviving are a son, Arlo C.I. Deibler of Willowbrook, Chicago, IL; two grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.

Memorial Services will be held at Peace U.C.C., Berrysburg at a future date.
