Paul E. Deppen
Paul E. Deppen, 78, of RR 1, Herndon, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.

Born in Jordan Twp., May 14, 1925, he was a son of the late Charles and Sallie Schlegel Deppen.

He was a 1944 graduate of Lower Mahanoy Township High School. He was a farmer and drove school bus for the Mahanoy Joint/Line Mountain School District.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban; and a former member of the Mandata Gun Club, Hillsgrove.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen K. Feger Deppen; a son, Richard C. Deppen of RR 1, Herndon; and a brother, Russell Deppen of Baltimore.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban, with the Rev. Amy J, Shultz officiating. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery. Hummel Funeral Home, Middleburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Dunn C. Daniel
Dunn C. Daniel, 80, of Harrisburg, formerly of Gratz, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

Born June 1, 1923 in Gratz, he was a son of the late Charles Daniel and Maree Hess Daniel.

He retired as a Clerical Worker for the PA Dept. of Revenue, Harrisburg; was a member of Grace E.C. Church, Lawton; member of the F&AM; of Harrisburg; and the Harrisburg Consistory and Tall Cedars.

Surviving is a friend, Ruth Hand of Harrisburg.

Religious services were held Saturday, January 10, from James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with the Rev. Randy Siezmore officiating. Interment was in Gratz Union cemetery.

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.

Kay L. Ender
Kay L. Ender, 65, of Harrisburg, formerly of Williamstown, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born in Williamstown, January 9, 1938, she was a daughter of the late John L. Cretarole and Mary Ellen Shomper.

Surviving are three sisters, Patricia Deibler and Mary Ann Koppenhaver, both of Tower City, and Chrystal Bordner of Dalmatia.

Private services were held at Twin Valley Alliance Church on Saturday, January 10, with the Rev. Donald Morgantini officiating. Interment was in the Methodist cemetery, Williamstown.

Memorial donations may be made to the Keystone Residence, 940 East Park Dr., Harrisburg, PA 17111, or to the American Cancer Society, Dauphin Unit, 1500 North 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17111, or to the Cerebral Palsy Association. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth S. Erdman
Ruth S. Erdman, 92, formerly of Tower City, died Sunday, February 4, 2004, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.

She was a retired clerk for the state of Pennsylvania.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City.

Surviving is a sister, Carrie Lebo of Millersburg.

Graveside services were held Friday, January 9, in Greenwood cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

L. Clair Fessler
L. Clair "Chic" Fessler, of Joliett, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Pottsville Hospital.

Born in Joliett, he was a son of the late Harry and Sadie Ritzman Fessler.
He was a self-employed truck driver.

He was a member of Joliett United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Tremont, Tall Cedars of Millersburg and a life member of Porter-Tower Lions Club and Joliett Fire Company.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Jean Sattizahn; a son, William of Millersburg; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, January 12, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Donald Boyd officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

James M. Fetterhoff, Sr.
James M. Fetterhoff, Sr., 59, of Lykens, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at home.
Born in Lykens on October 27, 1944 he was a son of the late Hyman and Annamarie Piano Fetterhoff.

He was a retired employee of Underkoffler Coal Sales and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Roseann M. Taylor.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. Boyer Fetterhoff; a son, James M. Fetterhoff, Jr. of Elizabethville; two daughters, Lisa Ann Schwalm of Wiconisco, Tammie Lynn Fetterhoff of Reinerton; a brother, Robert Fetterhoff of Wiconisco; three sisters, Marylou Schoffstall, Margaret Schoffstall, both of Wiconisco, Donna Updegrove of Orwin; and four grandchildren.

There were no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel T. Hendershot
Hazel T. Hendershot, 89, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Elizabethville, died on Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Penn Lutheran Village.

Born on April 6, 1914 in Fowler, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Flossie Ann McCoskey Thompson.

She was the former administrator and co-owner of the Kepler Home Inc., Elizabethville and a former employee of Harrisburg Stamp and Stencil, Harrisburg. She attended Kendal College in Evanston, Illinois. She helped establish the Christian Book Store in Franklin, PA. Hazel and her husband were the first charter members of the Reigle's Bible Fellowship Church in Millersburg. She was a former member of the Rainbow Valley American Business Womens Assoc. (ABWA) and was active for many years in the Pennsylvania Sunday School Assoc.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Wilbur, Francis and a sister, Mary Bates.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, C. Loren Hendershot of Selinsgrove; a son, Charles J. Hendershot; a daughter, Kathryn F. Hendershot of Halifax; a brother, Russel Thompson of Corry; a sister, Wilna Enos of Phoenix, AZ.

Services were held in her church on Monday, January 12. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery, Elizabethville. Hoover Funeral Home Inc., Elizabethville, was in charge of arrangements.

Willis E. Kimmel
Willis E. Kimmel, 70, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at home.

Born in Lauberry, Tremont Township, August 18, 1933, he was a son of the late Earl C. and Lila A. Strouphauer Kimmel.

He was employed for 30 years as a coal miner and worked for 10 years at Newport Homes Manufacturing, Pine Grove.

He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Ravine, and Pine Grove Lodge 409, F&AM.;

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo J. and Harold.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Grace Krammes; a son, Willis Todd of Pine Grove; two daughters, Betty Lou Reed of Pine Grove, and Patricia Kintzel of Harrisburg; three brothers, William H. and Lester I., both of Pine Grove, and Earl J. Jr. of Schuylkill Haven; a sister, Pearl R. Zimmerman of Pine Grove; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, January 10, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Lance Mills officiating. Interment was in Manbeck's cemetery, Washington Township. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Glennis J. Knorr
Glennis Jean Knorr, 67, of Valley View, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.

Born in Reilly Township, January 28, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Elsie Rosener Kelly.

She was a graduate of the former Reilly Twp. High School. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Knorr, who died in 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharlene Melocheck of RD Ashland, and Machelle Tietsworth of Valley View.

Religious services will be held Thursday, January 15, at 11 a.m. at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Viewing will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Friedens cemetery, Hegins.

Memorial donations may be made to Friedens United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, Chestnut St., Hegins, PA 17938. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View is in charge of arrangements.

John M. Kratzer
John M. Kratzer, 91, of Dalmatia, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at the Sunbury Community Hospital.

Born in Pillow, he was a son of the late Joel and Hattie Schlegel Kratzer.

He retired from Pennsy Supply in Harrisburg; was a member, former councilman, and treasurer of Trinity U.C.C. in Dalmatia; a member of the Dalmatia Fire Co. and the senior citizens groups of Gratz and Herndon.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Freda Hoffman Kratzer and by a step-granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene Kolva Boyer Kratzer; two sons, Milan of Paradise, and Maynard of Millersburg; two daughters, Dareene Titus of Millersburg, and Erla of Arlington, VA; two step-sons, Dennis Boyer and Kenneth Boyer; a step-daughter, Shirley Harris of California; a sister, Mary Troutman of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine-step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Friday, January 9, at Trinity U.C.C. in Dalmatia. Interment was in Union cemetery, Pillow.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church, George Street, Dalmatia, PA 17017 or to David's U.C.C., Hebe, PA 17830.

James C. Lenker
James C. Lenker, 66, of Millersburg, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, at the Com-munity General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.

Born October 19, 1937 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Isaiah A. and Ethel M. Houck Lenker.

He previously owned I. A. Lenker, Inc., and was currently a co-owner of Lenker Plumbing Contractors; was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Millersburg; former president of the Lower Paxton Ambulance Association; former school bus driver for the Central Dauphin School District; a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of Middletown and a member of the Wood-trotters Camping Club.

Surviving are his wife, Donna R. Lenker; a son, Scott J. Lenker of Grantville; a sister, Debbie McHale of Harrisburg; two granddaughters; a niece; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, at 11 a.m., from Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Linglestown. Viewings will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth C. Longabach
Kenneth C. Longabach, 66, of Elizabethville, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at his residence.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Charles and Georgia Malick Longabach.

He was a retired plant engineer from Rife & Nestor in Lykens; a member of Ashlar Lodge No. 570 F&AM; Zembo Temple; Coast Guard Auxiliary; Gratz Historical Society and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley E. Ditty Longabach; a son, Charles H. of Harrisburg; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Reed of Gratz; a sister, Joan C. Dorsey of Glen Ridge, NJ; grandson, James A. Reed III and a granddaughter, Jennifer A. Reed.

Memorial services were held on Friday, January 9, at the Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Elizabethville. Interment was in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Rife.
