Luke D. Fidler
Luke D. Fidler, 88, of Deer Lake, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, where he lived since March.

Born in Pine Grove, March 12, 1915, he was a son of the late Irvin and Rose Dewald Fidler.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was last employed as a mechanic for the former Yoder Trucking Co., Schuylkill Haven.

He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Orwigsburg Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Grace Lengel Croneberger, in 1971; three sisters, Evelyn Fidler, Irma Garner and Iona Loy.

He was the last member of his immediate family.

Services were private at the convenience of the family. Private interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, was in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie D. Dunker
Jimmie D. Dunker, 57, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Pottsville Hospital.

Born in Lexington, Mo., he was a son of Irene Conrad Krause, Pine Grove, and the late Roy Dunker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gayle A. Funk, who died on September 1, 1997; and his stepfather, Earl Krause.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, David of Pine Grove; a daughter, Karen of Pine Grove; two sisters, Janice Ogeden of Georgia, and Joanne Gunder of Minnesota; two brothers, Jerry Rhodes of Florida, and Rick Krause of Pine Grove; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, July 7, at Hetzel's cemetery, Pine Grove, with the Rev. George Miller officiating. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

George M. Bell
George M. Bell, 88, of Millersburg, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.

He was a retired pricing administrator from AMP Incorporated. He was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Williamstown American Legion Post 239 for more than 50 years.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Bell; three daughters, Doris Roa of San Antonio, TX, Peggie Bond of Williamstown, and Fran Bell Manning of Millersburg; a son, John Bell of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamstown American legion Post 239, 123 W. Market St., Williamstown 17098. The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Caroline I. Williams
Caroline I. Williams, age 72, of Herndon, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at home.

She was a daughter of the late Mervin and Jennie Brady Williams.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Williams, Ellen Schrieber, Ruth Kauffman, Dorothy Fortney and Beverly Williams.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Jones of Lykens; five grandchildren; three brothers, George and Charles Williams, both of New Cumberland, and Floyd Williams of Lewisberry; three sisters, Evelyn Updegraff of Arizona, Edna Thomas of Manchester, and Acquilla Williams of Idaho; her companion, Kenneth Bordner, Sr., of Herndon; and nieces and nephews.

There will be no services.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert W. Sattizahn
Robert W. Sattizahn, 82, formerly of Pine Grove and Hopeland, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Cornwall Manor Care, Cornwall.

Born in Pine Grove Township, December 9, 1920, he was a son of the late Robert W. Sr. and Mary D. Fidler Sattizahn.

He was a sergeant in the 2510th Army Air Force Base Unit during World War II. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal and Victory Medal.

He had been employed in the cutting room as a spreader at the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing Co., Pine Grove.

He was a member of Salem Hetzel's United Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Minerva Davis, on September 14, 1973; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a sister, Verna Stupp of Hopeland; nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, June 30, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. Interment was in St. John's Union cemetery, Friedensburg. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia M. Runkle
Patricia Marie Runkle, 64, of Hegins, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, September 24, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George and Margie Ney Hentz. She was a 1956 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

She worked in housekeeping for Romberger Furniture, Valley View, until retiring.

She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, and was one of the original organizers of the annual Hegins Arts and Crafts Faire.

Surviving are her husband, Earl L.; a son, Scott Runkle of Hegins; two brothers, William Hentz of Hegins, and David Hentz of Valley View; a half-brother, Jeffrey Schwalm of Valley View; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, June 27, at Friedens United Church of Christ with the Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Interment was in Friedens cemetery, Hegins. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

Catherine H. Raudenbush
Catherine H. Raudenbush, 92, of Williamstown, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.

Born in Tower City, June 4, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Ruben and Eva R. Warner Machamer.

She was a retired Seamstress from the Garment Industry and also the retired owner of the former Raudenbush's Fabric Shop, Williamstown. She was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W.; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a son, Dale E. of Williamstown; a daughter, Beatrice M. Seiler of Clarks Valley; and a grandson.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family, with Rev. Elizabeth Whitehead officiating. Interment was in the Methodist cemetery, Williamstown.

Memorial donations can be made to the Williamstown Area E.M.S., P.O. Box 74, Williamstown, 17098. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Williamstown, was in charge of arrangements.

Walter Kuntzleman
Walter H. Kuntzleman

Walter H. Kuntzleman, 91, of Tower City, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.

Born in Tower City, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Ella Lee Thompson Kuntzleman. He attended Tower City schools.

He was a retired coal miner.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Ted; and a sister, Grace Raab.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Updegrove Kuntzleman, to whom he was married 68 years; a son, Ronald of Leesport; two daughters, Kay Lubold of Harrisburg, and Joette Keen of Hatfield; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, June 30, in Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, Tower City. Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth E. Jones
Ruth E. Jones, 71, of Wiconisco, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at home.

Born in Lykens, April 25, 1932, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence Hunter Stuppy. She was a graduate of Wiconisco High School. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Lykens.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Bowerman and Jean Snody.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph W. Jones; a son, Michael R. Jones of Ladson, S.C.; three daughters, JoAnn J. Kelleher of Plymouth, Janet C. Machamer of Wiconisco, and Shirley J. Bard of Williamstown; a sister, Doris Litchfield of Enola; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, July 1, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church with the Rev. Robert S. Panza officiating. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist cemetery. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Beatrice M. Huntsinger
Beatrice M. Huntsinger, 72, of Hegins, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her residence.

Born in Hegins, May 30, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Matie E. Klouser Wetzel.

She was a retired garment factory worker. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins; the former Lutheran Church Quilters; and the Hegins Fire Co. Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne J. Huntsinger, who died in 1988; a son, Roy L., who died in 1966; two sister, Iva Fetter and Eva Kessler; and three brothers, Ralph, Chester, and Paul Wetzel.

Surviving are a son, James A. Huntsinger, Sr. of Hegins; two brothers, Albert Wetzel of Hegins, and Oscar Wetzel of Hometown; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 10 a.m. at the Miller-Berger Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Friedens Union cemetery, Hegins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Miller-Berger Funeral Home, Valley View, is handling arrangements.

Abraham L. Huey
Abraham L. Huey, 85, of Donaldson, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at home.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, September 19, 1917, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen Frehafer Huey.

He worked as a miner all his life in different coal mines.

, 2003He was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Elva M. Krommes Huey; a daughter, Beverly Paul of Schuylkill Haven; a sister, Jean Snyder of Greenville, S.C.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services were private at the convenience of the family from Ebling Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Shawn Van Dyke officiating. Interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Ebling Funeral Home, Cressona, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary I. Bohner
Mary I. Scheib Bohner, 84, formerly of Tower City, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the Woodland Center, Lewisberry.

Born in Spring Glen, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Cora Mae Artz.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Esrom Scheib, who died in 1976; her second husband, Guy Bohner, who died in 1993; a son, Dervis Scheib, who died in 2000; a sister, Elsie Artz and a brother, Russel Artz.

Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte J. Scheib of Stewartstown; two sons, Jerry W. Scheib of Halifax and Dennis L. Scheib of Williamstown; a brother, Leon Artz of Tower City; a sister, Evelyn Wagonseller of Florida; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Saturday, June 28, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., with the Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, Tower City R.D. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., was in charge of arrangements.
