Melba B. Morgan
Melba B. Morgan, 76, Lykens, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at home.
Born in Tremont, September 15, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elva Reiner Boyer.
She retired from the local garment industry.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, who died in 1973.
Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie L. Yoder of Tower City, Debra L. Fisher of Lebanon, and K. Doreen Herb of Lykens; a son, Edward S. of Lebanon; three sisters, Faye Krammes of New Hampshire, Naomi Miller of Tower City, and Thelma Workman of Tremont; four brothers, Ralph Boyer of Massachusetts, Lester Boyer of Good Spring, Robert "Wid" Boyer of Tower City, and Terry Boyer of Orwin; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, April 7, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton, with the Rev. Arthur Sonnenberg officiating. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Muir.
Memorial donations maybe made to American Cancer Society, 16 N. 4th Street, Minersville, 17954.
Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert C. Miller
Robert C. "Smoke" Miller, 88, of Tower City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Born in Clarks Valley, October 24, 1914, he was a son of the late Thomas and Maude Antes Miller.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a retired coal miner and also worked for TRW, Harrisburg.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, Tower City American Legion Post, Gratz VFW Post, West End Fire Company, Sheridan, and Orwin Gun Club. He served on the Porter Township election board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Pearl Henry, who in 2000; a brother, Thomas; and a sister, Hattie Romberger.
Surviving are a brother, Marlin Miller of Tower City; a sister, Grace Wetzel of Branchdale; a step-son; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, April 4, from Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Interment with military honors was in St. Mark's cemetery, Spring Glen.
Memorial donations may be made o Christ United Methodist Church, PO Box F, Tower City, 17980.

George S. Latsha
George S. Latsha, age 98, of Lemoyne, died April 2, 2003, at home.
He was born in Millersburg. He attended schools in the Millersburg area.
He moved from Tower City to the Harrisburg area in the early 30's and sold cars for a local car dealer for a short period of time. He and his wife Blanche owned and operated the Berryhill Coal Co. In the early 50's, he and his son, David, were one of the first imported car dealers on the east coast, which went on to be an Imported Car Distributor for a large part of the United States. During this time, the coal business was now dealing in Coal and Fuel Oil, then Berryhill Coal Co. was sold out. In the early to mid 60's, George, Blanche and David became partners to build apartments called Westgate Garden Apts., on the West Shore area. In the late 80's, they sold out and retired.
He was a 53 year Mason of the Eureka Lodge No. 302; member of the Harrisburg Consistory, S.P.R.S. 32 Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and the Zembo Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche H. Latsha, of Tower City, who died May 31, 1997, at the age of 90.
Surviving are his son, David of Lemoyne; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, April 7, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, 17011. Interment was in Rolling Green Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements are by Myers-Harner Funeral Home, Camp Hill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church for The Latsha Family Endowment For Children and Youth Ministry.

Mae I. Koons
Mae I. Koons, 85, of Millersburg, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Tower City, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Lillian Hand.
She retired from the York Livestock Market, also had worked at the Lebanon Valley Livestock Market, and the former Markley Romberger Insurance Agency in Millersburg. She was a member of Trinity U.C.C. in Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Dutch" Koons.
Surviving are a brother-in-law, Jack Koons and his wife, Sonya; and a sister-in-law, Minnie Brown, all of Millersburg; and nieces and a nephew.
Services were held on Monday, March 31, at the Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 235 Center Street, Millersburg, 17061.
Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Lillian M. Heim
Lillian M. Heim, 82, of RR1 Dornsife, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Sunbury Community Hospital.
Born in Leck Kill, May 22, 1920, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Snyder Kahler. She was educated in Upper Mahanoy Township schools.
She had been employed at Brosius Market, Dalmatia.
She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E., who died on February 12, 1991; a son, Kermit F., on November 21, 2002; seven sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Romaine C. Linderman of Sunbury, and Mary J. Hoke of RR1 Dornsife; two sons, Donald J. of RR1 Paxinos, and John L., Sr. of Halifax; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, April 4, from Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck, with the Rev. Frederick Faust officiating. Interment was in Himmel's cemetery, Rebuck.
Memorial contributions may be made to Himmel's Church Memorial Fund, Schwaben Creek Road, Rebuck, 17867.
Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown, was in charge of arrangements.

Lester E. Fetterhoff
Lester Eugene Fetterhoff, 91, formerly of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Lykens, August 21, 1911, he was a son of the late Harvey and Emma Rickert Fetterhoff.
He retired from Penn Dye, Pine Grove.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He was the last member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Clara Zimmerman; a step-son, Marlyn Zimmerman of Pine Grove; two step-daughters, Mardelle Rager of Pine Grove, and Cindy Geist of Hegins; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, April 5, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in St. Paul's Reformed cemetery, Ravine.

Dorothy L. English
Dorothy L. English, 84, of Tower City, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Pottsville Hospital.
Born in Lykens, August 9, 1918, she was a daughter of the late David and Florence Strayer Herb.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by a son, William R., who died on July 8, 1999.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, William T.; a son, Gary D. of Williamsport; three grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 8, from Greenwood cemetery, RD Tower City.
Memorial donations may be made to Tower/Porter EMS, P.O. Box 33, Tower City, 17980.

Ferne A. Donmoyer
Ferne A. Klinger Donmoyer, 76, of Donaldson, died March 13, 2003, at the Milton Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond E. Donmoyer.
Memorial services were held Sunday, April 6, at the Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, with the Rev. Paul Rainbow officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Tremont.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 800 Corporate Circle Suite, No. 100, Harrisburg, 17110.

Miriam I. Deppen
Miriam Irene Deppen, 84, of Erdman, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born July 5, 1918 in Jordan Township, Northumberland, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Lula Hoffman Kratzer.
She was a retired assembler from the former Muskin Shoe Co., Millersburg. She and her late husband had owned and operated the Tri-Valley Treat, Valley View. She was a member of David's United Church of Christ, Hebe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Deppen, who died February 3, 2000; and two brothers, Ray and Robert Kratzer.
Surviving are a son, David M. Deppen of Gratz; a sister, Helen Michael of Gratz; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 5, at David's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Ray Brown officiating. Interment was in David's cemetery, Hebe. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Contributions may be made to David's United Church of Christ, R.D., Herndon, 17830.

Lois M. Beuchle
Lois M. Muggio Beuchle, 77, of Lebanon, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Lebanon's Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born November 11, 1925, in Millersburg, she was a daughter of the late Cataldo and Violet Dressler Muggio.
She was a bookkeeper for the former Discovery School in Lebanon, and the former co-resident manager of Market House Place Apartments. An active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, she was secretary of the G.R.A.C.E. Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Beuchle, who died December 27, 1991; and a brother Joseph Muggio.
Surviving are two daughters Carolyn M. Dibert, and Rebecca A. Arnold, both of Lebanon; four sisters Kathryn Rothermel of Lebanon and Sabelle Baker, Janet Chubb and Florence "Fairlee" Underkoffler of Millersburg; four brothers Thomas James and Ralph Muggio of Millersburg, Larry Muggio of Williamstown and Harold Muggio of York; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, April 3, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Vision in Faith Fund, or to World Hunger Relief, in care of her church.
Christman's Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge arrangements.
