JULIA WALSH CALDWELL
Julia Walsh Caldwell age 49, of 505 Adams St., Rochester, Pa. died at 11:00 on Wednesday, July 29, 1953, in her home of cancer. Born February 13, 1904, in McKees Rocks, daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine HANEY Walsh. A member of St. Cecilia R.C. Church, she was a member of the Christian Mothers and L.C.B.A. Surviving are her husband Alonzo John Caldwell, one son William E. Caldwell of Allendale, three daughters Mrs. William S. "Olive" MORGAN of Allendale; Shirley Joan and Carole Jean Caldwell at home; two brothers P. F. Walsh of Titusville and Michael Walsh of McKees Rocks; six sisters, Mrs. Nora BLUMLING, Mrs. Helen MORRISON, Mrs. Anna HEINAUER, all of McKees Rocks, Mrs. Catherine BENNETT of Tujunga, Cal., Mrs. Agnes ACKER of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Stella COCHENOUR of Crafton, and 4 grandchildren. Requiem hig;h mass for the late Julia Walsh Caldwell will be held 9:30 o'clock Monday morning Aug. 3, 1953 in St. Cecilia R.C. Church. Burial will be in St. Cecilia cemetery. Hartzel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ANTHONY L. CAPUTO, SR.
Age 78, of Chippewa Twp., formerly of Stowe Twp., McKees Rocks, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Friendship Ridge, Brighton Twp. Born Dec. 9, 1923, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Antonio and Pasqualina SPANARD Caputo, he was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps. He was the former owner and operator of the Eiben & Irr from 1963 to 1971 and the Caputo Department Store from 1971 to 1991. He was a member of Christ the Divine Teacher Roman Catholic Church, Chippewa Twp. He graduated from Stowe High School, McKees Rocks in 1941 and from the Pittsburgh Music Institute in 1947. He was a lay minister, a member of V.S.P. and the first parish council president of Christ the Divine Teacher Roman Catholic Church, former president of the Beaver Valley Chamber of Commerce and was former president of the Lions Club, McKees Rocks. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 56 years, Margaret M. (LITTERINI) Caputo; seven sons, John (Linda) of Wexford, Richard (Cynthia) of Chippewa Twp., Dr. Christopher (Ellen) of Center Twp., Carl (Betty) of Patterson Twp., Anthony, Jr. "Tony" of Chippewa Twp., Dr. Russell (Karla) of Cranberry Twp. and Bernard (Megan) of Franklin Park, two daughters, Donna (Roland) WILKINSON, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL and Lisa (Richard) MACKLIN of Patterson Twp.; a brother, Raymond Caputo of Toms River, NJ and two sisters, Carmella CILETTI of Colorado Springs, CO and Delores PRIOLA of Long Island, NY; 16 grandchildren, Philip, Adrienne, Christina, Juliana, Michael, Olivia and Garrett Wilkinson, Marlaina, Merril, George, Luke, Alexis and Richard Macklin, Jr., Domenic, Gianna and Dante; two stepgrandchildren, Christofer Branchetti and Matthew Hirsch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfonso J. and Amico Caputo and four sisters, Lena LIBERTORE, Mary DeSTEFANO, Helen Caputo and Margie SACCO. Friends will be received Thursday & Friday, 2-4 & 7-9pm in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Rd. Interment in St. Mary cemetery, Chippewa Twp.

WILLIAM C. "ELECTRIC BILL" CARNELL III
Age 63, of McKees Rocks, on Wed. Nov. 29, 2006. Beloved son of William C. Jr. and Louise Carnell; brother of Nancy (Gerry) Goffinet; survived by a host of close friends. Bill was the owner of Carnell Audio and was associated with Opus One and Hollowood Music. Bill was widely known and appreciated for his talent in his mechanical electrical audio expertise. Funeral Service in the First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant St., Downtown, Sat. 10 AM. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the Greater Pgh. Community Food Bank, 1 N. DOROTHY HAUPT CARR
97, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on December 25, 2008 after a brief illness. Dorothy was loved by those who knew her for her generosity, optimism and overarching concern for others. She pursued her faith and her desire to be of service in all things. Dorothy grew up in Springfield, Illinois and Charles City, Virginia. She studied at Stuart Circle Hospital in Richmond Virginia and became a Registered Nurse, practicing in industrial medicine and private duty nursing. Her nurses training informed her life as she provided care for many members of her family and extended family. Dorothy was the tireless helpmate and partner of her husband of 59 years, James V. Carr, M.D., who preceded her in death in 1998. Together, they made their life and raised their family in McKees Rocks where she was known and loved by many. The last ten years of her life were spent in Naples, Florida, where she was an unfailing inspiration. Most recently she became a member of a rosary makers group, finding a new way to contribute to this world well into her tenth decade of life. Her memory is treasured as the heart of her family. She is survived by her five children, Mary Ann (Jim) VALENTOUR, James V. (Linda) Carr, Jr., William E. (Marilyn) Carr, Charles J. (Debbie) Carr and Colleen Carr (Earl RECTANUS) and ten grandchildren, Thomas (Ronnie) and Julia Valentour, James and Leigh Carr, Katherine (Mark) ESPOSITO, Hilary Carr, Kelly and Cindy Carr and Chelsea and Erin Rectanus as well as a great grandson, August Valentour. She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Esch Carr. A funeral mass will be said in her honor at St. John of God Church in McKees Rocks on Saturday, January 31 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to Ohio Valley General Hospital, 25 Heckel Road, McKees Rocks, PA 15136.

ALICE GORDON CARSON
Mrs. Alice Gordon Carson passed away at her home in Olathe, KS on March 1 at age 94. Mrs. Carson was the daughter of Louis Clark Gordon and Ethel Lucinda BOVARD, born on September 9, 1912 in McKees Rocks, PA. She was a long time resident of Pittsburgh, PA, Longboat Key, FL and Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Glenn Peregrine Carson; one sister, Sarah Louise WRIGHT; and two brothers, Louis Clark Gordon and her twin, Gilbert Griffin Gordon. Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn (William) BUMPAS of Seattle, WA; Joanne (Richard) JOHNSON of Lenexa, KS; and Jane (Peter) TOPOLY of Newburg, PA; five grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

JOHN H. CARTER
Rev. John H. CARTER, 59, of Gormley avenue, Oakdale, died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 1960, in the Ohio Valley hospital, following a lingering illness. A son of Mrs. Molly CARTER of Chatham, Va., and the late John Luther CARTER, he was born February 10, 1901. He had been a resident of Oakdale for the past 33 years and was pastor of the Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church,
McKees Rocks, the past five years. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Molly CARTER of Chatham, Va.; his wife Mrs. Lillian ROBINSON CARTER; a son, John Henry CARTER, Jr., of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Shirley, the wife of Richard W. KING of Barr street, McDonald, and Miss Phyllis CARTER of Oakdale; a sister, Miss Mary Lee CARTER of Chatham, Va., and a brother, Luther CARTER of FARRELL. There are three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday n the A.M.E. Zion Church, Oakdale, in charge of the Rev. Arthur A. Henderson. Burial will be in Robinson's Run cemetery.

PASQUALE R. "PATSY" CASTELVETER
Age 83, of McKees Rocks, on Friday July 27, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Mariam; Father of Susan COULL, David (Michelle) Castelveter and Richard (Krystyna) Castelveter; Grand- father of Lori, Jonathan, Mia and Nicholas. Brother of Evelyn ANDRASKO, Donald and Robert Castelveter and the late Louis Castelveter. Mr. Castelveter served with the US Navy during WWII, participating in the Invasion of Normandy. Friends received 2-4 & 6-8pm Saturday & Sunday at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks where funeral prayers will be 9:30am Monday, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Malachy Church

EDWARD CERCEO
Edward Cerceo, 41, Pittsburgh friend of Al Capone and active in McKees Rocks rackets during the prohibition era, died last night in St. John's Hospital of a heart ailment and pneumonia following a cold contracted in rescue work during the St. Patrick's Day flood. Born in Wampum, Pa., January 22, 1895, Cerceo was a resident of McKees Rocks for many years and was visited there several years ago by Capone when the Chicago gang leader was released from Eastern Penitentiary. Recently he had purchased an Island avenue hotel, which he turned into a shelter for refugees during the flood crisis. Mr. Cerceo was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Church, McKees Rocks, the Sons of Italy, the Elks, Eagles and Amerita Club. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Caroline Cerceo; five daughters, a son, a brother and a sister. Post Gazette, May 28, 1936
