Mary J. Lorah, 94, formerly of Shenandoah. and a guest at the Friendly Nursing Home in Pitman, PA passed away Thursday, November 13th, 2008 at Good Samaritan Regional M C,; Pottsville, PA.
Born in Shenandoah, PA January 21, 1914 she was the daughter of the late
Shem and Mary Jane (Edwards) Evans.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Shenandoah, PA
Worked for many years at the Style Shop in Shenandoah before retirement.
She attended Shenandoah Schools. She was a member of the Petitions Organization.
The Schuylkill County Chorus; a Life Member of the National Welsh Foundation and
the Gyneanta Ganu Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lorah in 1981.
Preceding her in death were brothers Norman, Mark, Shem, & Robert Evans.
Sisters Susan and Dorothy Evans preceded her in death.
Surviving are niece & caregiver Norma Raudenbush, Ashland, PA
Nieces Joyce Anderson, Selinsgrove, PA and Joan Redmond, New Jersey survive.
Nephew David Evans of Manheim survive. Great nephew: Dr. Bryan Raudenbush of Ohio survives.

Stephen Fago, 81, of 409 Broad Street Ashland. passed away Friday, November 14th, 2008 peacefully at Bloomsburg Health Care, Bloomsburg, PA.
Born in Centralia, PA August 22, 1927 he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Konkus) Fago. He was a member of Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Catholic Church, Centralia, PA. He graduated from Conyngham Twp. High School
Class of 1945. Was a United States Army Veteran; Graduate of Bloomsburg University with a degree in chemistry & physics. He worked as a special agent for Penn National Insurance Co. for ten years and in later owned and operated the Boris Insurance Agency in Ashland, PA until 1995. He was a member of the Ashland
Rotary Club since 1997 until present and the Ashland Elks and Centralia Legion.
He's survived by two brothers: Michael husband of Stella Fago, Bloomsburg, PA and John husband of Catherine Fago of Deptford, N.J. Preceding him in death were five brothers - two sisters: John, Andrew, Peter, Paul, Alex; Mary. Martha, & Eileen.
Nieces and Nephews survive.

Leo "DUTT" Glowacki, 73 of 151 Main Street, , Ashland. passed away Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at the Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian St., Pottsville, PA.
Born in Mt. Carmel, PA November 8, 1935 he was the son of the late Leo and Helen Glowacki. He attended Mt. Carmel High School and worked at Gould Pump Company in Ashland for 25 years until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dawn Hepler Glowacki in June of 2006.
Surviving are a son and daughter: Paul husband of Bobi Jo Glowacki of Mt. Carmel, PA and Martha Glowacki of Ashland, PA.
A grandson Jacob Glowacki, Mt. Carmel survives. Preceding him in death were two brother and a sister: Leonard Sr.; Henry Leo; and Martha Eckert.

Pauline Bensinger, 86, of 267 Germanville Road Ashland. passed away Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, PA.
Born in Locust Dale, PA October 23, 1922 she was the daughter of the late George and Viola (Bodman ) Strobel. She was a member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland where she was a past member of the Church Official Board. She graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1940; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., Ashland, PA; and a member of the Gordon and Ashland Area Senior Citizens. She worked for the Ashland National Bank and Pennsylvania National Bank in Ashland as a Branch Manager until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband Clyde Bensinger of Ashland
Two step daughters survive: Donna wife of Robert Cress, Ashland & Debra wife of Carl Shoup, Ringtown, PA.
One sister survives: Sarah Umlauf, Ashland, PA
She was preceded in death by four sisters - one brother: Helen Kober, Jean Sener, Mildred Welker, & Mary Gober. Brother Richard E. Strobel preceded her in death.

Born in Windham, CT July 25, 1964 she was the daughter of the late Glen R. an Roberta (Hubler) Jones. She attended North Schuylkill High School and was a member of the V.F. W. Post of Ashland Ladies Auxiliary and the Good Fellowship Club in Ashland. Worked for Republican-Herald Newspaper as a delivery person for 5 years.
Surviving are her sister: Donna wife of Michael Kroh of Ashland.

Yvonne T. Walacavage D.V.M., 57, of 640 High Road, Ashland, PA
passed away Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 at Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville, PA.
Born in Connerton, PA September 13, 1951 she was the daughter of Margaret Walacavage, Connerton, PA and the late William Walacavage.
She graduated from North Schuylkill High School; Penn State University, and University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
In 1980 she opened the Anthracite Animal Clinic, Ashland which she owned & operated til present. Yvonne dedicated her life to helping and saving the lives of abandoned animals.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two sisters, one brother:

Charles "Scottie" Robbins Jr., 85, formerly of Gordon, PA died at home in Pine Grove, PA Friday, December 12th, 2008 with his family.
Born in Gordon, PA August 3, 1923 the son of the late Charles W. and Susan Martz Robbins Sr.
He served in the United States Army in World War I I and received the Purple Heart Combat Infantry Badge, and Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gordon, PA; Ashland Lodge No. 294 F&AM; Ashland Elks 384 BPOE; Citizens Fire Company, Gordon, PA; Pine Grove Ten Pin Club.
He worked for the Reading Railroad until retirement. He was a Life Member of the Gordon Hunting Cabin.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Jones) Robbins in 1987.
One daughter survives: Beth Ann wife of Richard Werner of Pine Grove, PA.
Two sisters survive: Grace Long, Gordon, PA; Ruth Hoffman, Bristol, PA.
One sister - one brother preceded him in death: Mae Wolfgang and
William Robbins. He was preceded in death by a nephew Ed Hoffman.
Three grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Werner, Lock Haven University; Richard S. Werner, at home; Scott C. Werner at home
