BERDETTA C. GURLEY
CLEARVILLE, Pa. - Berdetta C. Gurley, 86, of R.D. 1, Clearville, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, on Jan. 19, 1999.

She was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Monroe Township, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Bessie (Shaw) Steckman.

She had been employed in the offices of the Forest and Water Department of the State of Maryland. She was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church of Cumberland.

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Collins, R.D. 1, Clearville, and Phyllis Hockenberry, R.D. 1, Everett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m., in the Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel, Main Street, Everett, with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Stevens Chapel Church cemetery, Clearville.

DALE E. BLANK
POCAHONTAS, Pa. - Dale Eugene Blank, 55, of Pocahontas, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born March 12, 1944, in Cumberland, he was a son of Dorothy E. (Blank) Blank of Wellersburg, and the late Raymond D. Blank.

Mr. Blank also is survived by his wife of 20 years, Margaret T. Blank; two sons, Joseph Michael Darby and wife Bernadette, Fairfax, Va., and Montana William Blank, Pocahontas; four daughters, Tammy Leydig, Cindy Deneen, Lori Huffman and Sherry Ross; four brothers, Leslie Blank and wife Laverne, Hyndman, Gary Blank and wife Louise, and Dwayne Blank and wife Barbara, all of Wellersburg, and David Blank and wife Renee, Eckhart, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Stott, Akron, Ohio, Joan Sager and husband Joe, Hyndman, Norma Middleton and husband Gerald, Frostburg, Md., and Diane DeHaven and husband James, Corriganville, Md.; and several special nieces and nephews. Mr. Blank will be sadly missed by his in-laws Kitty and Joe Darby of Frostburg.

Mr. Blank, a construction worker, served in the United States Marine Corps and attended the Ministry of the Living Temples.

Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Wednesday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nancy Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Hyndman cemetery.

RAYMOND D. BLANK
WELLERSBURG, Pa. - Raymond Delbert Blank, 94, of Southampton Township, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at his residence after a long illness.
Born April 2, 1904, in Wellersburg, he was one of 14 children of the late John Edward and Cecilia Martha (Orndorf) Blank. Eight brothers, five sisters, and two grandchildren also preceded Mr. Blank in death.

His wife, Dorothy Eleanor Blank; five sons, Dale and wife, Pocahontas, Pa., Leslie and wife, Hyndman, David and wife, Eckhart, Md., Gary and wife, and Dwayne and wife, all of Wellersburg; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Stott, Akron, Ohio, Joan Sager and husband, Hyndman, Norma Middleton and husband, Frostburg, Md., and Diane DeHaven and husband, Corriganville, Md.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren survive Mr. Blank.

Mr. Blank served in the United States Army, and he attended the Methodist Church in Mount Savage, Md.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 17, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Bedford Road, Cumberland, Md.

The Cumberland Combined Forces Color Guard will accord Mr. Blank full military honors.

KENNETH R. BLUBAUGH
LANCASTER, Pa. - Kenneth R. Blubaugh, 77, of 874 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Arthur and Leah (Flake) Blubaugh. His wife, Elizabeth (Brandt) Blubaugh, died in July 1997.

Mr. Blubaugh retired from RCA Service Co., Lancaster, where he was a television and appliance technician for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster, and attended Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, Md., where he had a summer home.

He is survived by a daughter, Arveda R. Morris, Mountville; two sons, Garnett G. Knippenberg and Harlan E. Knippenberg, Lancaster; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carroll Blubaugh, Cumberland.

Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service.

Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth L. Korns officiating. Interment will be in the Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.

CHARLES T. BOCKHOUSE SR.
MANNS CHOICE, Pa. - Charles Thomas Bockhouse Sr., 89, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, died at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1998.

Born March 6, 1910, in Cumberland, he was one of four children of the late Henry and Kathryn (Davis) Bockhouse. Two sisters also preceded him in death.

On Nov. 13, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., he married Lottie Mildred Stouffer. She survives along with two sons, Charles T. Bockhouse Jr. and wife Carolyn and Edward H. Bockhouse, all of Manns Choice; a sister, Elsie McDonald of Cumberland, Md.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graduate of Allegany High School, Mr. Bockhouse went on to work for the Celanese Corp., Cumberland, for 25 years. From 1952 to 1962, he owned and operated a dairy farm in Manns Choice. In 1950, Mr. Bockhouse designed and built the altar for the Lybarger Lutheran Church. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, Madley, Pa., he served as President for a number of years for the Pennsylvania State Sunday School Association and Executive Secretary of Becalm Lutheran Ministries in Bedford County, Pa.

Mr. Bockhouse served as a lay minister for the Lutheran Church, Madley, Pa. He also served as a pastor in Rural Retreat, Va., between 1966 and 1970, for the Gravel Springs parish, Winchester, Va., from 1970 to 1975, and for the Glade Tidings parish, Manns Choice, from 1976 to 1979.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Friday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Christ Lutheran Church, Madley, on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Stouffer officiating.

Interment will be in the Madley cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Chuch c/o Don Leap, RD 1, Buffalo Mills, PA 15534.

TELMA GILMOUR
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Telma (Poorbaugh) Gilmour, 79, of Water Street, Hyndman, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at her residence.
Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Hyndman, she was a daughter of the late Norman B. Poorbaugh Jr. and Avalene (Hite) Poorbaugh. Her husband, William J. Gilmour, also preceded Mrs. Gilmour in death in November 1969.

Mrs. Gilmour is survived by two daughters, Janet L. Cuppett and husband George, with whom she resided, and Vicki L. Blum and husband Lester of Abington, Pa.; a sister, Betty Stuby of Hyndman; and two grandsons, Carl Norman and Eric William Blum of Abington.

Mrs. Gilmour, a retired dispatcher for the Hyndman Area Rescue Squad, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a past member and councilor of Daughters of America 110, and past master of Hyndman Grange #1954.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa., on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Julie L. Applegate officiating.

Interment will be in the Hyndman cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lee Regional Hospice, 1425 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, PA 15904.
