ZETTA M. BUCKLEW
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Zetta Mae (Davis) Bucklew, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at her home in Hyndman.

Born Dec. 12, 1909, in Laneville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Wesley A. and Bertha Aney (Mick) Davis.

Mrs. Bucklew is survived by two sisters, Olive C. Davis and Shirley A. Iser and husband Harry R., both of Rawlings, Md.; a brother*in*law, Larry Greco of Piedmont, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews, Ray Taylor and wife Gertie, Bud and Keith Taylor, Viola Logsdon, Bertha Jane Stauffer, Dietra Couch, and Donna Young, whom she helped raise as her own.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Arch L. Bucklew; two sisters, Daisy Hosselrode and Madeline Greco; and two brothers*in*law, Harry Hosselrode and Walter Davis.

Mrs. Bucklew was a homemaker and a member of the Wills Mountain Church of Christ and The Harvester Club.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. with Brother Jack Compton of the Open Bible Tabernacle officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.

HENRY J. BRUCK
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Henry James Bruck, 85, of Hyndman, died March 16, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.

Born Jan. 8, 1914, in Hyndman, he was a son of the late Charles L. and Lucy L. (Minnick) Bruck.

A son, Billy B. Bruck and wife, Sheila, Ellerslie, Md.; one brother, Clarence Bruck, Painesville, Ohio; three sisters, Maude Tempke, Hyndman, Florence Diehl and Dorothy Diehl, both of Irvin; three grandchildren, Scott Bruck and wife, Amy, Hyndman, Stacy Lamp and husband, Kevin, Cumberland, and Stephanie Durst and husband, Bill, Ellerslie; and six great-grandchildren, Jared Lamp, Courtney Bruck, Kaitlin Lamp, Tatum Durst, Lucas Bruck and Nathan Lamp, survive Mr. Bruck.

Mr. Bruck was a retired laborer from the Diamond Shamrock Company of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsman's Club, and a Charter member of Buck's Hunting Camp.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, March 18, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin L. Lamp officiating.

Interment will be in Madley cemetery.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers for Mr. Bruck.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Hyndman Area Rescue Squad.

CALEB DANIEL DEFFENBAUGH
EVERETT, Pa. - Caleb Daniel Deffenbaugh, age 6 months, of 182 Tussey Road, Everett, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at his home.

Born Nov. 7, 1998, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Glen A. and Penny Lynn Johnson Deffenbaugh of Everett.

He is survived by two older brothers, Dakota and Boen Deffenbaugh, at home; grandparents, James A. Deffenbaugh, Mount Savage, Md., Warren Garfield and Reba Johnson, Little Orleans, Md.; uncles and aunts, Cary and Ivadene Deffenbaugh and Phil and Tanya Bowen, Milford, Va., Stacey Deffenbaugh, White Hall, Va., Paul and Missy Johnson, Hancock, Md., Nany Johnson, Hagerstown, Md., Naomi Johnson, Little Orleans; cousins, Margaret, Elizabeth and Samantha Deffenbaugh, Amanda Johnson, Jason and Ryan McIntyre.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hilda Deffenbaugh; and one aunt, Lorraine Deffenbaugh.

The family will receive friends at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 2 E. High St., Hancock, Md., Thursday from 2 to 4:30 p.m., where services will be held at Thursday 4:30 p.m. The Rev. Joseph Bell will officiate.

Burial will be in Martin cemetery, Little Orleans.

Arrangements are by the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock.

DANIEL D. FRANTZ
BEDFORD, Pa. - Daniel David Frantz, 80, of North Chamberlain Street, Bedford, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at the UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 22, 1918, in Southampton Township, Bedford County, he was a son of the late Daniel A. Frantz and Grace Mae (Furlow) Frantz.

He married Cleopatra M. George on Oct. 13, 1948, who preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 1991. He is survived by sisters, Althea F. Reid, wife of Warren E. Reid of Everett, and Vivian Von Stein of Bedford, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Frantz was trained as an aviation mechanic at the Lincoln Flying School, Lincoln, Neb., from 1937 through 1939. In 1940, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and departed for Clark Air Base near Manila in the Philippine Islands, where he served as an aviation mechanic before being discharged from the Army in 1941. He then was employed as the Civilian Supervisor of Bomber Overhaul at the Clark Air Base maintenance depot before the Japanese attack Dec. 8, 1941. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese Jan. 10, 1942, and was placed in two civilian prisoner-of-war camps before American forces liberated the prisoners in February 1945. His last Air Force duty station before retirement, was Dover Air Force Base, Del., as the Civilian Chief of Aircraft Maintenance for transport type aircraft.

Mr. Frantz is a 50-year honoree of the Everett Masonic Lodge 524, the Harrisburg Consistory and the Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg.

The Dalla Valle Funeral Service Inc., Everett, is handling the arrangements.

MABEL A. GEORG
ATASCADERO, Calif. - Mabel Alberta Georg, 83, of 1330 Elcamino Real, Atascadero, formerly of Accident, Md., died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at her residence.

Born April 26, 1916, in Meyersdale, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Milton H. and Gladys M. (Shunk) Meyers.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Georg, March 8, 1952; and two brothers, Paul and Francis "Bud" Meyers.

Mrs. Georg was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, Md., and was formerly employed as a dental technician.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Eugene Georg, Accident, and Bernard Lewis Georg, San Miguel, Calif.; a brother, Kenneth Meyers, York, Pa.; two sisters, Esther Meyers, Salisbury, Pa., Florence Davis, Simi Valley, Calif.; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., McHenry, Md., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating.

Interment will be in the Church cemetery.

MARIANA DEIST
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Mariana (Kooser) Deist, 76, of Hyndman, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.

Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Manor, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary Ethel (Cook) Kooser.

Mrs. Deist is survived by her husband of 55 years, Freeman P. Deist, Hyndman; a son, Freeman P. Deist and wife, Linda, Cumberland, Md.; a daughter, Marianne Logue and husband, Donley, Manns Choice; a brother, William H. Kooser, Wheaton, Ill.; six grandchildren, Christina, Angela, Phillip and Lucas Deist, and Adrian and Jason Logue; and a great-grandson, Avery Freeman Logue.

Mrs. Deist, a homemaker and member of the First United Church of Christ, Hyndman, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She was a Registered Pharmacist for Deist Drug Store, Hyndman, and a courier for Deist Pharmacy in Frostburg, Grantsville and Lonaconing.

Funeral services, under the management of the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, will be conducted at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Hyndman cemetery with Pastor Steven L. Craft officiating.

The family requests that memorials in honor of Mrs. Deist be made to First United Church of Christ, Hyndman.
