RONALD B. DARR
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Ronald Brian Darr, 66, of Pittsburgh, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997 at the Veteran's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Aug. 17, 1929 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late John N. Darr and Marie Elizabeth (Hicks) Darr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ricardo Darr.

Mr. Darr was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a clothing store manager.

Surviving are three brothers, John N. Darr and wife Mary of Monroeville, Danny C. Darr and wife Kathy of Cumberland, Md. and Maurice A. Darr and wife Ingrid of Pemberton, N.J.; two sisters, Rose Marie Bennett and husband John of Johnstown; Tonya Pope and husband Roger of Mt. Holly, N.J.; two uncles, James and Garland Darr of Cumberland; one aunt, Addie Hicks of Wilkensburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local combined military honor guard.

Pallbearers will be Jay Darr, Johnny Darr, William Smith, Craig Bennett, Gary Beckward and William Younger.

RUSSELL EVANS
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Russell Evans, 84, of RD 1, Hyndman, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born March 30, 1912, near Hyndman, he was a son of the late Samuel and Annie (Troutman) Evans. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Charles and Robert; and two sisters, Ida Evans and Sadie Emerick.

Mr. Evans retired from Cumberland Cement and Supply Co. Previously, he was employed with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and prior to that, he worked as a bus driver for Albright Bus Lines. He was a faithful member of the Central Christian Church, Hyndman.

On Dec. 28, 1950, at Ellerslie, Md., he married M. Avalene (Mays) Evans, who survives him; also surviving are a daughter, Lisa A. Emerick and husband Steven, RD 1, Hyndman; two grandchildren, Kelly Emerick and Steven Emerick Jr; and a sister, Pearl Mason, Canton, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Sunday for one hour prior to the service.

Services will be conducted at the Central Christian Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Galen Beitzel, evangelist, officiating.

Interment will be in Lybarger cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Central Christian Church, Hyndman, PA 15545.

MARLE C. BISHOP
EVERETT, Pa. - Marle C. Bishop, 78, of HCR 6, Everett, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at the Center for Nursing Care, Altoona, Pa.
He was born June 18, 1919, in Cumberland, the son of the late Cleveland and Gertrude (Snyder) Bishop. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Leone Barkman; and step-mother, Pearl Bishop.

On April 1, 1942, he married Lena B. (Von Stein), who preceded him in death on June 30, 1993.

Surviving are his sister, LaVerne Imler, Alliance, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bishop retired after 33 1/2 years from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Cumberland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Rome, Northern France, and the Rhineland, and he received three Bronze Stars.

He was a member of the Clearville United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Everett VFW Post #2055, Artemas American Legion Post #155, Disabled American Veterans, the Everett Honor Guard, Improved Order of Redmen Tribe #507, Everett, the Everett Masonic Lodge #524 Free & Accepted Masons, Chaneysville Volunteer Fire Company, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Temple - Altoona, and Chapman Run Hunting Club.

Friends will be received at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.

Interment will be in the Clearville Union cemetery.

The Everett Honor Guard will accord graveside military rites.

LESTER B. BISTLINE
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Lester B. Bistline, 82, of Hyndman, Bedford County, formerly of Dillsburg, died Friday, March 7, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Upper Mifflin, Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Bruce G. and Edna C. (Barrick) Bistline.

Mr. Bistline was a retired packer for the former Navy Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church of God, Dillsburg.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret F. (Shoffner) Bistline, Hyndman; three sons, the Rev. Robert M., Lancaster, Leslie Shoffner, Hyndman, and the Rev. Randall L., Mount Joy; one half brother, Bruce G. Bistline Jr., Carlisle; two half sisters, Doris Bowers, Newville, and Byrnece Gibney, Marysville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Parthemore officiating.

Burial will be in the Fairview Bethel cemetery, Fairview Township, York County.

Memorials may be sent to the Mount Pleasant Church of God, 146 S. York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019.

ROY E. EMERICK
FAIRHOPE, Pa. - Roy Ellis Emerick, 83, of Rainsburg, formerly of Fairhope, died Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, at New Paris.
Born Jan. 6, 1914, in Fairhope Township, Somerset County, he was a son of the late George V. and Pearl V. (Clites) Emerick. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Belma M. (Baer) Emerick on Feb. 28, 1984; a brother, Wilbert Emerick; and a sister, Leora Emerick.

Mr. Emerick was a retired trackman for the B & O Railroad. He attended Fairhope Community Church.

Surviving are three sons, Mervin R. Emerick, RD 1, Buffalo Mills, Manford L. Emerick, Hyndman, and Glenn W. Emerick, Fairbanks, Alaska; two daughters, Dorothy E. McCoy, Dillsburg, and Susan P. Larson, McConnellsburg; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elwood M. Emerick and Fred W. Emerick, both of Fairhope; and two sisters, Carrie E. Emerick, Fairhope, and Irene M. Mowry, Berlin.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bradley Reider and Pastor Leroy Logsdon officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Zion cemetery, RD 1, Fairhope.

Memorials may be sent to Fairhope Community Church, Fairhope, PA 15538.

LILLIAN B. ENGLE
SALISBURY, Pa. - Lillian Beatrice Engle, 89, of 110 Walnut St., Salisbury, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at the Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1907, in Madley, she was a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Ella Virginia (Coughenour) Yutzy. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Engle, in 1957; and two sisters, Margaret Shroyer and Mary Yutzy.

Surviving are three children, Virginia Anaya and husband Joseph, Salisbury, Joseph F. Engle and wife Jean, Sacramento, Calif., and John Daniel Engle, Somerset; three grandchildren, Michael Anaya, Keena Most and Heather Walker; three step-grandchildren, Del Ray Sanders, Shirley Williams and Kathy Krantz; seven great-grandchildren; six sisters, Pearl Arnold, Bedford, Bertha DeVore and Pauline McVicker, both of Hyndman, Marian Budnowski, Green Bush, N.Y., Dorothy Papa, Hagerstown, Md., and Barbara Trupp, Foxboro, Canada; and two brothers, Joseph Yutzy and Roy W. Yutzy, both of Cumberland, Md.

Mrs. Engle was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ; American Legion Auxiliary 459; and Salisbury Fire Auxiliary. She worked at Meyersdale Shirt Factory, and was cook at Salisbury Sandwich Shop and at Tuscano's Restaurant, Meyersdale. She was a house mother at West Virginia University, Morgantown, for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and later at the Tri-Delta Sorority. After leaving the university she took care of elderly folks who were sick or invalid.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.

Interment will be in the Salisbury cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John's United Church of Christ.
