Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Rosamae Weyant

Rosamae Weyant, 84, of Epworth Manor, Tyrone died Monday, October 27, 2008 after an extended illness.
She was born March 5, 1924 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of the late Rolland E. and Elloise M. (Legg) Dixon. She married Kenneth J. (Barney) Weyant who died November 3, 1993.
Mrs. Weyant graduated from Isabel Kansas High School in 1942.
Surviving are: son, Robert J. (Jim) Weyant of Tyrone, PA; daughter-in-law, Dorie Weyant of Tyrone, PA; grandson, Craig Allen Weyant of Stone Mountain, GA; granddaughter, Sherri Ann Weyant of Tyrone, PA; sister, Bonnie J. Rose of Bentonville, AR; brother, R.C. Dixon of Fort Payne, AL; sister-in-law, Janice Dixon of Fort Payne, AL; and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She retired from the Blair County Treasurers Office, Hollidaysburg, PA in 1985. She also worked for Bell Telephone, Dodge City, KS, Martinsburg Shoe Company, Martinsburg, PA, and performed volunteer work at Epworth Manor Nursing Home in Tyrone, PA.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epworth Manor Care Assurance, 951 Washington Avenue, Tyrone, PA 16686.
Arrangements are under The Good Funeral Home, Inc., RD 2 Box 708, Altoona, PA 16601.

Jayne A. Delozier

Mrs. Jayne A. Delozier, age 76, of RD 3, Tyrone, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Tyrone Hospital. Mrs. Delozier is survived by her husband, James C. Delozier, two daughters, two sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private funeral service and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.

Raymond L. Beckwith Sr.

Raymond L. Beckwith Sr., 89, of RD3, Tyrone died Friday October 24, 2008 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.
Arrangements are by the Feller Memorial Home.

Edgar E. Gearhart

Edgar E. Gearhart, 82, of Graystone Court, 1747 Adams Ave., Tyrone died Wednesday evening, October 22, 2008 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
Arrangements are by the Feller Memorial Home.

Gerald M. Snyder

Gerald M. Snyder, age 71, of Pennsville, NJ died Monday, October 20, 2008 at his residence. Born in Tyrone, PA he was the son of the late Christie, Sr. and Alma Snyder.
Gerald was a longtime Pennsville resident.
He was employed as a lab technician for the DuPont Company at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE where her retired following many years service.
Survived by his wife, Beatrice M. Burden Snyder, children, Christal A. White of Pennsville, NJ, Judy Ann Willadsen of Carney’s Point, NJ, Kimberly A. Bierman of Stow Creek, NJ and Tammy J. Looney of Middletown, DE, stepchildren, Harold Dolbow of Pilesgrove, NJ, and David Dolbow of TN, grandchildren, Timothy, Stephanie, Michael, Andrew, Katherine, Dale, Matthew, Sarah, and Colin, step grandchildren, Brian, Heather, James, and Jeffrey, great granddaughter, Christina.
Predeceased by his first wife Donna J. Davis Snyder (2000), Brother, Christie Snyder, Jr., and a sister Edith Charleen Turnbaugh and a stepdaughter Diane Williams.
Gerald was an avid Penn State Football fan and enjoyed deer hunting.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Mon., Oct. 27, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Sharptown Methodist Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.

Marjorie L. Westley

Marjorie L. Westley, 95, formerly of 208 Main Street, Northwood, Tyrone, PA, and a resident of Olivia Village, Old Rt. 220 for the past two years, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Olivia Village.
She was born July 8, 1913 in Northwood, a daughter of Jesse Armstrong and Rhoda May (Thompson) Westley.
She is survived by a brother Joseph P. Westley of Northwood, Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the Tyrone Christ United Methodist Church since 1933 where she was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class and was a Primary Department Sunday School Teacher.
She was employed at the Tyrone Laundry until its closing after 40 years service. She retired in 1975 after three years in the housekeeping department of Penn State University.
Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barry E. Neal officiating.
Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Christ United Methodist Church, Pennsylvania Avenue and 14th Street, Tyrone, PA 16686.

John Andrew Lloyd

John Andrew Lloyd, 80, of 961 S. Lincoln Avenue, Tyrone, died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at his residence.
He was born July 10, 1928 in Birmingham, PA, a son of John J. and Verna Pearl (Bollinger) Lloyd.
He was married May 13, 1950 to Donna A. Beamer.
He is survived by his wife in Tyrone and sons Michael Kevin Lloyd (Cindy) and Donald Richard Lloyd (Melody) of Myrtle Beach, SC.
One grandson: Jason Matthew Lloyd of Sumter, SC.
Sister: Evelyn “Bette” McClellan of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald R., Kenneth, Harold, and sisters Vera Root, Faye Lloyd and Sara Shirk.
He was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1947 and served in the PA Army Reserve National Guard as Captain for 15 years.
He was a manager and auditor for the A&P Tea Co. for many years and retired from the Foodland Store in Tyrone.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Peggy J. Bonsell officiating. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Warriors Mark Methodist Church, 1340 Centre Line Road, Warriors Mark, PA 16877 or to Grane Hospice, 1020 Green Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.

Theodore E. ‘Ted’ Loose

Theodore E. “Ted” Loose, 79, of 309 Shippen St., Tyrone, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his residence.
He was born September 6, 1929 a son of Harry H. and Susan Mildred (Quarry) Loose.
He was formerly married to Sherry (McClellan) Nichols.
Survived by three daughters and a son: Kim Hunter (Charles) of Tyrone; Judith Woodcock (Curtis) of Tyrone; Traci Black (John) of Sinking Valley; and Theodore E. Loose, II of Tyrone.
Eight grandchildren: Jill and MaryElyn Hunter, Curtis and Amelia Woodcock, and Paige, Ross, Libby, and Abraham Black.
Sisters Janet Reasy (Joe) and Gladys Clapper (Paul) of Hollidaysburg and brothers Donald W. Loose of Martinsburg and Ray H. Loose (Lee) of Tyrone.
He was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He coached Tyrone Little League Baseball for 20 years and coached the first girl in Tyrone Little League. He was an avid Tyrone sports fan, enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren, especially at picnics and holidays.
After retiring from Conrail in 1994, he spent a lot of time working and hunting on his son-in-law’s farm in Sinking Valley.
Private funeral services were held at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.

Dustin Scott DelBaggio

Dustin Scott DelBaggio, 24, formerly of Tyrone and a resident of 606 Krebs Ave., Clearfield, Pa., died Friday, October 17, 2008 in Clearfield County.
He was born in California, the son of Rocco J. and Tammy (Fink) DelBaggio.
He is survived by his parents of Tyrone and sisters Lyndsay J. DelBaggio of Warriors Mark and Baylee J. DelBaggio of Tyrone.
His grandparents, David Fink, Barbara Romano, Rocco DelBaggio, Jr., of Tyrone and special family friend, Pastor Jay Jones of Bloomsburg.
He was preceded in death by grandmother Marian DelBaggio and great-grandmother Naomi Romano.
He was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 2002 where he participated in the wrestling program. He had played Little League baseball and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was last employed at Vision Quality Components Powdered Metal Co. in Clearfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. A. Michele Somerville and Rev. Roger Gorton officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his memory be made to the Matthew 25 Fund at the Bald Eagle Methodist Church, RD 3 Box 184, Tyrone, Pa. 16686, or to the West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols St., Clearfield, Pa. 16830.

Marilyn L. Miller

Marilyn L. Miller, 75, of Bellwood died Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008 at Valley View Home, Altoona.
She was born in Bellwood July 21, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Edith (Reeder) Wyland. She married Roger W. Miller on December 3, 1988 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are her husband; sisters: Patricia Isenberg of Bellwood and Carol Holliday of Altoona; brothers: Kenneth Wyland and Robert Wyland both of Bellwood; step children: Roger Miller and Kenneth Miller both of Altoona, Deborah Miller of Hollidaysburg, Nancy Fowkes and Lynnette Ivory both of Duncansville; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Warren and John Wyland.
Marilyn was formerly employed as a secretary at the Altoona Mirror.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Marilyn enjoyed music, crafts, reading and flowers.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert Ludrowsky officiating.
Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 N. Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.

Stephen J. Michaels

Stephen J. Michaels, 63, of 1912 Columbia Ave., Tyrone died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 2 a.m. at Altoona Regional Health System - Altoona Hospital Campus.
He was born August 27, 1945 in Altoona, a son of Chester J. and Marjorie (Marthouse) Michaels. On May 3, 1966 in Tyrone he married Mary M. Faust.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Leslie J. Hammond of Tyrone, Lori Jo Beals and husband Stephen Jr. of Lancaster, Heather Meek and husband Brian of Morrisdale, seven grandchildren, Devon Hammond, Tony Beals, Nicholas Meek, Stephanie Hammond, Michael Beals, Archer Meek, Zoey Meek, his mother of Tyrone, a brother, Chester Michaels and wife Sandy of Newark, Delaware, a sister Marsha DelBaggio and husband George of Tyrone, former son-in-law Craig Hammond of Tyrone and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his father- and mother-in-law Raymond and Polly Faust.
Mr. Michaels retired in December 2007 on disability from Chicago Rivet and Machine Company, Tyrone. He was owner of Michaels Photography, Tyrone since 1971.
He was a member of the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, serving as a Specialist Four with the 104th Armed Calvary.
Steve loved doing things with his children and grandchildren. He will be known by a couple of Tyrone and Bellwood generations as photographer for youth and high school sports. He was recently awarded the game ball signed by the Tyrone Football team as appreciation for his passionate support of them.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Peggy Bonsell officiating. Interment will follow at Burket Cemetery. Friends will be received today at Feller Memorial Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
