Ken Giegerich
Procter & Gamble employee

Ken Giegerich, 48, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at his home in Pleasant Hills with family and friends at his side.

He was born Aug. 3, 1959 in Pittsburgh, a son of Paul and Agatha (Schilling) Giegerich, also of Pleasant Hills.

He worked 26 years at Procter & Gamble, most recently as a manager. He was an avid fan and actively involved with Thomas Jefferson Jaguar athletics.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patty (McCormick) Giegerich, daughter, Erin and son, Danny all of Pleasant Hills; five siblings Martin (Susan) Giegerich, Paul Giegerich, Marie (Mark) Zarlino, all of Pleasant Hills, Karen (Jody) Rodgers of Texas and Tommy Giegerich of North Carolina as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements handled by Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home. Contributions can be be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Margaret J. Jones
Brentwood

Margaret J. Jones, 80, of Brentwood, died Aug. 20, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Jones

Surviving are her children, Karen McCartney (Rich) and Lynn McCaffrey (Pat); grandchildren, Kim Getz, Michael McCaffrey, Jeffrey Redenbach and Kara McCaffrey; and a great-grandchild, Dan Getz.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.She lived in Brentwood for most of her life, and had many good times at The Other End.

She was an animal lover and could often be found with dog treats in her pockets for her daughters' animals.

Arrangements were made by John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty-Four, PA 15330.

Dorothy Willis
Bethel park resident

Dorothy Willis, 81, of Bethel Park, died Aug. 28, 2008.

She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Helen Boobyer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Willis.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Harrington.

Friends were received at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc, Pleasant Hills. Services and interment were private. Interment was at Jefferson Memorial Park.

Joseph A. Niro
Whitehall resident

Joseph A. Niro, 78, of Whitehall, died Aug. 25, 2008.

He was the son of the late Pardo and Adeline Niro.

He is survived by his children, Tony (Margaret) Niro, Joey (Tracy) Niro and Gina Lison; grandchildren, Daniele, Michael, Kristi, JoJo, Kimmy, Franny, Matt and Scott; siblings, Mary lou DiBartola, Raymond Niro and William Niro; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Marchetti) Niro.

Friends were received at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. Entombment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60642-2642 or the Pittsburgh Children's Foundation, 124 Bittersweet Circle, Venetia, PA 15367.

Marilyn Campano
Registered nurse

Marilyn A. "Tag" (Tagliavini) Campano, 77, of West Mifflin, formerly of Glassport and Duquesne, died Aug. 28, 2008.

She was the wife of Anthony M. Campano; mother of Tina (Gary) Farine and Tony (Stephanie) Campano; daughter of the late Albino and Helen (Gizovski) Tagliavini; step daughter of James Ardiana; loving "Nan" of Kristina (Eric) Chichester and Mia and Anthony Campano.

She also is survived by nieces, nephews and her nursing friends, and her childhood friend, Norma Vujatovich.

A graduate of McKeesport Hospital Nursing School, Mrs. Campano worked as a registered nurse at McKeesport Hospital in the labor room for 42 years.

Friends were received at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Hills, where a blessing service was held. Interment is at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.

Robert Stanton
Castle Shannon resident

Robert H. "Reds" Stanton, 79, of Castle Shannon, died Aug. 17, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Krupitzer.

He is survived by his children, Rick (Donna) Stanton, Keith (Kelly) Stanton, Patti (Bob) Baumgarten, David (Robin) Stanton and Donna (Dave) Szymanski; sisters, Lois Shonborn and Audrey (Marty) Dorfner; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob Hodgson, Jean Krupitzer and Mary Lou (Tom) Crawford; grandchildren, Rick (Kate), Kristen (Rob), Jonathan (Valerie), Ronnie, Jamie, Bobby, Lynn (David), Drew, Doug, Kelsey, Ellyn, Jason, Amanda and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Jordan, Britney and Madison.

Arrangements were made by John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

Clara Jane Kuisis
Brookline resident

Clara Jane Kuisis, of Brookline, died Aug. 29, 2008.

She was the wife of Jerry Kuisis; mother of Jerry (Crystal) Kuisis, II; grandmother of Paige and Ian; daughter of the late Paul and Hazel Thomas; and sister of Paulette (Don) Millin, and Patty (Jim) Mallow.

Arrangements were handled by John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.

The family suggests contributions to the family of Clara Kuisis, 736 Bellaire Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15226.

Albert Radcliffe Jr.
Baldwin resident

Albert J. Radcliffe Jr., of Baldwin, died Aug. 29, 2008.

He is the husband of Marilyn T. Radcliffe; father of Deborah Ann (Brian) Kendrick of Bethel Park and Dana Radcliffe of South Park; pop-pop of Ryan Martin and Hannah Marie; son of Elizabeth Jane and the late Albert Radcliffe of Brentwood; and brother of David (Kay), John (Teddie), and Dan Radcliffe, Cheryl Ann (Harry) Bard, all of Brentwood, and Bill (Faith) Radcliffe of Cranberry Township and Alex.

Friends were received at John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Wendelin Church.

Shirley Goettel
Great-grandmother

Shirley L. (Lock) Goettel, 76, of Baldwin Borough, died Aug. 29, 2008.

She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Eula (Burger) Lock.

Mrs. Goettel is survived by her children, Deborah Austin, Susan (Edward) Lane, Laura (Stuart) Smith and Cynthia Goettel; five grandchildren' and six great-grandchildren.

Service and interment were private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
