Virginia (Branca) Marsh Starzynski, 72, of Brentwood, died Monday, May 19, 2008.
She was the wife of Wilton Starzynski; mother of Debra Schmeider and the late Dennis Schmeider; grandmother of Jordan Schmeider.
She was a dedicated member of I.S.D.A. for 58 years and a Brentwood Democratic Committee Woman for 20 years.

Donald Irwin of Pleasant Hills died Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
He was the husband of Marianne Irwin; father of Jeff Irwin (Julie), Pam (Buzzy) OBlack and Renee Irwin (Jim); grandfather of Danny, Christina and Amy; son of the late Leslie and Ethel Irwin; brother of Virginia (Bob) Paterson and Karen Skocz (Matt).
Mr. Irwin was owner of TightSpot Dancewear Center, member of the F&AM Pleasant Hills Guthrie Lodge No. 509 and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Arrangements by John F. Slater Funeral Home.

George List Jr.
Of Brentwood
George List Jr., 88, of Brentwood, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007.
He was the husband of Virginia List; father of Cathaleen List of Whitehall; brother of Wallace List of Whitehall and Martha (the late Donald) Russell of Arizona. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Mr. List was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, and retired from PAT after 42 years.

Chester Jakoski
Active in Polish groups
Chester Jakoski, 94, of Bridgeville, formerly of Whitehall, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena; father of Richard (Margaret) Jakoski of Strongsville, Ohio and Barbara (Jerry) Serrino of McMurray; grandfather of Daniel (Marion) Jakoski, James Jakoski, Diane (Joe) Karoleski and Judy Jakoski, all of Ohio, Scott Serrino, Traci Wargo, Suzanne (Mike) Kairush, Mary Jo Serrino and Michael Serrino all of McMurray; great grandfather of Christopher Wargo, Ryan Serrino, Daniel Kramer, Alyssa Karoleski and Christian Wargo; brother of the late Wanda McCloskey and Clara Squires.
Mr. Jakoski served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was well known in the area for many accomplishments during his life.
He formed the Polish Aristocrates Orchestra in 1935, began his broadcasting career in 1933 and was known as the "Dean" of Polish radio.
He founded Chester's Card and Record Store on the South Side of Pittsburgh in 1950, and in 1959 he founded Chester's Travel Agency, also on the South Side.
He traveled to Poland many times with his wife and it was during these many trips that he became friends with Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski, Primate of Poland.
He was also instrumental in forming the South Side Lions Club, was active in the Pleasant Hills AARP during his retirement and was a member of the Ambassadors Club of the Orchard Lake Seminary in Michigan.
He was active in many Polish organizations in the Pittsburgh area and received many awards for his dedication and devotion to his Polish heritage.

Dolores (Straub) Fortun-ato of Whitehall, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
She was the wife of the late Emmanuel Fortunato; mother of Dolly (Fortunato) Ries and Thomas Fortunato; mother-in-law to Robert Ries and Susan Fortunato; grandma to Amanda Ries, Jessica, Justin and Juliana Fortun-ato; sister to Catherine (George) Lancaster, Margar-et Caldwell, Jeanne Haas, Thomas (Theresa) Straub and the late Sylvester Straub. Also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Raymond Covato, 67, of Brentwood, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
He was the son of the late Anthony and Angie Covato; brother of Ronald (Patricia) Covato; uncle of Lucia Covato Giurgi, Thessica Covato Kuster and Alexis Covato; granduncle of Maxwell, Patrick, Gavin, Maya and Demi; nephew of Kathryn and Donald Jurs.
Mr. Covato served in the U.S. Army, attended Duquesne University and was a member of Pittsburgh Musical Society.

Wilhelmina Munn, 93, of Brentwood, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
She was the wife of the late Ross Munn; mother of Virginia (the Rev. Kenneth) McBurney, Arthur (Mary) Chess, Alice (Audie) Lloyd and Karl Munn; grandmother of Joyce, Scott, Linda, John, Timothy, Michael, and the late Sandra. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Herman Kreuzer

Herman Kreuzer, 67, of Baldwin Township, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007.
He was the husband of 41 years to Patricia (Dehn) Kreuzer; father of Michael (Nancy) Kreuzer and Kathleen (Jeffrey) Barone; grandfather of Cassandra and Carson Barone.
He was the son of the late Herman and Mildred Kreuzer.
Also survived by numerous cousins.
Mr. Kreuzer served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was a retired employee of PA American Water Company.
