She was the wife of Ronald Guatell for 46 years; mother of Cheri (Keith) Young, Daniel (Jennifer) Guatell and the late Robert Guatell; grandmother of Taylor and Erica Young and Jack Guatell; sister of Helen Voye, Nancy Plecenik, Kathy Brooks, Steven and James Plecenik and the late Walter Plecenik and Suzan Blakely; sister-in-law of Bill (Pat) and Gary (Linda) Guatell.

Arrangements made by John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., Brentwood.

Imelda Veith
Great-grandmother of five

Imelda Clare "Pat" (McBride) Vieth of Baldwin, died Oct. 3, 2007.

She was the wife of the late William Sr.; mother of Patricia (David) Ivy, William (Jeanne), Robert (Janice), Raymond (Wendy), Peggy (Donald) Misencik, Richard (Lauren), Timothy (Marcia), Mary Jo (Edward) Wallander, Jan (Mike) Wilding, Michael (Karen); "Gram" of Brian Veith, Kristie (Joe) Kinslow, Val (John) Bachner, Robert (Tina) Veith, Kerry Veith, Matthew and Ashley Veith, Andrew Kintner, Carolyn and Julie Veith, Peyton and Bailey Veith, Whitney, William, Katherine, Eliza-beth, Charlie and Jeffrey Wallander, Michael and Jessica Wilding, Ryan, Kayla, and Brooke Veith; preceded in death by grandchildren, Stephen Kurty and Laura Wallander; great-grandmother to Gabrielle, Natalie, and John Bachner, Sydney and Isabella Veith.

Dolores Harley, great-grandmother of 17

Dolores Harley of Whitehall died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007.

She was the wife of 32 years to George and to the late Edward Kramer; mother of Ed (Marce) Kramer, Dee (John) Goliwas; step-mother of Carol (Ron) Lockhart; grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 17.

Also survived by two cousins, Lou (Anne) Baehr and Albert Spechtold.

Rosemarie Breitweiser
married 65 years

Rosemarie Breitweiser, 84, of Whitehall, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007.

She was the wife of 65 years to John Breitweiser; mother of John Breitweiser and Linda Breitweiser of Lancaster; grandmother of Kim Breitweiser and Jason Breitweiser of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law of Kathryn Rowsick; predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Also survived by nieces, a nephew and friends.

Ruth Reed
Longtime waitress

Ruth Marie (Hammerle) Reed, formerly of Brent-wood, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007.

She was the wife of the late Howard Mason Reed; mother of Linda (Ricky), Debbie (Gary), Jim (Katie), Bob (Renee), Bill (Joann); sister of Grace Penziski, Donny Hammerle of Arizona and the late Lois Wilkens; sister-in-law of Spike Wilkens of Mt. Oliver; grandmother of Scott, Jennifer, Paul, Carrie, Jimmy, Bobby, Krissy, Lauren, Jessica, Billy, and Michael; great-grandmother of Corey Cam-eron, Larissa, Arianna; aunt of Edward Wilkins.

Mrs. Reed was a longtime waitress at Scoglio's.

Ralph Mutschler
Former basketball coach

Ralph (Babe) Mutschler Sr., 75, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007.

He was the husband of Lorraine of 54 years. He also is survived by 12 children, 35 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren: David (Amber) and baby son John Bradley; Paul (Kathy) son Jack and daughter Gina Moody (Bryce) and their baby Ella, Diane Hayes (John) and daughters Meaghann, Keelan and Mollie, Lawrence (Susan) and their sons, Josh (Veronica) and son Caleb; Luke, Ben, Zachery and daughter, Abby; Mary Kathleen Heigl and her son Bernard Heigl III (Jen) and her daughter Julia; Laura Ann Cox (Steve) and their son LC CPL Sean M. Cox US Marines, daughter Erin Mercuri (Mark) and daughter Mikaela, daughters Sarah, Siobhan, Mary and son Liam; Daniel (Kathy) and their daughters Elizabeth Rose and Stephanie; Michael (Hye-Jin Purupsky and her daughters Brittany and Alexa) and his daughters, Taylor and Mallory; Marilyn Michaud (Bruce) and her sons Garrett and Frank Watson; his sons, John and Payden; Matthew (Pamela) and their daughters Jessica, Chelsie, Cecilia and Bella, sons Gabriel and Izaiah; Ralph A. Jr. and Lorraine Strzelecki and her daughter Emma and son, Paul.

Mr. Mutschler was the son of Ralph Mutschler and Marie, deceased with one brother, Norman, deceased, and survived by one sister, Irene Guy (Jack).

He served in the U.S. Navy on the heavy cruiser, Albany from 1954 to 1956.

He worked at Bell Telephone of PA, then Bell Atlantic, for 40 years, the last 30 as a cable splicer, retiring in December of 1992.

He coached the fifth and sixth grade basketball team at St. Sylvester School for 26 years.

He was a member of the Sports Club there from its conception and served as president for one term. He also coached little league baseball for Brentwood Athletic Association for 10 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.

Donations can be made to St. Sylvester's Angel Fund for their school, 3754 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.

Elizabeth Murdock
lived in Baldwin

Elizabeth M. Murdock of Baldwin Borough died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at the age of 83.

Mrs. Murdock was the beloved wife of Bernard; sister of the late Walter, Leonard and Frank Kowalski and Helen Holly. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handled by Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills.

Entombment was in Jefferson Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Spirit Church or Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Sandra Slavkin
Beloved wife and mother

Sandra L. (Sprouse) Slavkin of Scott Township, formerly of Lincoln Place, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007.

Mrs. Slavkin was the beloved wife of Ronald; mother of Matt and Mark; cherished daughter of Bob and Nancy Sprouse; dear sister of Chuck (Laura) Sprouse; treasured aunt of Kristen and Kara; daughter-in-law of Dr. and Mrs. Marvin Slavkin. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Arrangements were handled by Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills.

Interment was in Jefferson Memorial Park.
