Louise E. Cobb, 72, of Murrysville, died Monday, March 20, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herbert and Florence Meyers Stanton. Louise was a member of the mother of Sorrows Church, a homemaker and a loving wife, mother , and grandmother. She was involved in various community activities, Meals-on-Wheels, bowling leagues and bridge clubs. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William R. Cobb of Murrysville; three sons , Robert and wife, Syndi, of Columbus, Ohio, Michael of Columbus, Ohio, and Steven and wife, Wendy, of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Cynthia S. Todd and her husband, Thomas, of Monroeville; two brothers , Donald and James Stanton; six grandchildren, Christy, Luke, Ryan, and Abbey Cobb, Jonathan and Tonia Todd; and a great-grandchild, Chance. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Lillian Avenue, Murrysville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville, with the Rev. Joseph Trupkovich as celebrant. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park.
ERNEST E. PLETCHER
Ernest E. Pletcher, 86, of White , Pa., died Monday, March 20, 2000, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Feb. 3, 1914, at White , the son of the late Elmer and Clara Shupe Pletcher. He was formerly employed by the Babcock Lumber Co. and the Scottdale Wood Products Co. He was a member of the White and Bullskin Township Senior Citizens, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Scottdale. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Martha Davis Pletcher, in 1989; and a sister, Goldie Pletcher. He is survived by his second wife, Margaret Metheny Coffman Pletcher; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Hoffer of Acme; two sons , Clifford Pletcher and his wife, Fran, of Pittsburgh and Clayton Pletcher and his wife, Lois, of White ; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. M. FRANK PULTZ SR.
M. Frank Pultz Sr., 88, of Greensburg, died Monday, March 20, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 15, 1911, in Greensburg, a son of the late Charles and Christine Barnard Pultz. He had been the owner of the Frank Pultz Inc. Oldsmobile and International Truck dealership in the Greensburg area, retiring in 1979. During his business career, Frank volunteered with the Salvation Army and various civic organizations. He was a member of the Greensburg Rotary Club, past board member of the Pennsylvania Automobile Dealers Association, past board member of the Greensburg Country Club, and a volunteer with many other community associations. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Murphy Pultz. Surviving are his four sons , M. Frank Pultz Jr. of Greensburg, William C. Pultz of California, Daniel M. Pultz of Pittsburgh and Barney Pultz of Greensburg; a brother, Lewis Pultz of Connecticut; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. CHARLES W. ROADMAN
Charles W. Roadman, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Jones Mills, Pa., and had resided for six months of the year in Donegal, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, at 8:45 a.m. Born July 5, 1920. He was preceded in death by his mother , Grace B. Monticue and his stepfather, Theodore R. Monticue; and his Father , James Roadman. Also a brother, Robert L. Monticue. Survived by two sisters , Mrs. Howard Yeckel and Shirley M. Chearney; six children; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews. He was in the 1st Division of the Big Red One, Blue Spaders, the 27th Division, World War II, and the 26th Infantry in Africa. He was acting 1st sergeant across the Rhine. He earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart with seven Bronze Stars. Also he was a Tech. Sergeant. LINDA M. SMITH
Linda M. Smith, 52, of Latrobe, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born July 20, 1947, in Latrobe, the daughter of Nancy J. Felgar Smith Gergas of Latrobe and the late John W. Smith. She was an employee of Kennametal Employees Federal Credit Union. She was a member of the Latrobe United Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Mixed Nuts Bowling League. In addition to her Father , she was predeceased by her stepfather, Frank "Popeye" Gergas. In addition to her mother , survivors include a son, Scott E. Harr and his wife, Amy, of Derry; a daughter, Christine M. Butz of New Derry; a brother, Mark Gergas and his wife, Sue, of Mt. Pleasant; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Nathan and Donald "Buddy." Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. VINCENT L. SOUSAE
Vincent L. Sousae, 80, of Greensburg, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at 5:45 p.m. in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Franklin, a son of the late John and Josephine D'Allessio Sousae. Mr. Sousae had been a resident of Greensburg for the past 17 years, and had previously resided in Belle Vernon. He was Catholic by faith, and a retired corporate officer with Beacon Supply Co., Belle Vernon. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a staff sergeant for the 8th Air Force Group. Mr. Sousae was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and the VFW Post 211. Survivors include his wife, Enice Dolfi Sousae; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Sousae and wife, Gloria, of West Chester and Jim Sousae of Greensburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Cope and husband, Russell, of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael, Kristin and Jason Sousae; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Virginia Razzando and Ann Hook; and three brothers , James, John and Lawrence Sousae. Richard J. "Jim" Taylor, 59, of Madison, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his home. He was born March 22, 1940, in McKeesport, a son of the late James L. and Helen A. Hutchinson Taylor. He was employed by Airtek Inc., North Huntingdon, as a truck driver, and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Hunker. He was also a member of the Madison Volunteer Fire Co. and the Pennsylvania Fire Police Association. Surviving are his wife, Venie A. Reynolds Taylor; two daughters , Linda Taylor of Madison and Robbin Robl and her husband, Todd, of Latrobe; a brother, Edwin C. Taylor of North Huntingdon; and several nieces and nephews. Jesse E. Walton, 67, of Boiling Springs, Pa., formerly of Boquet, died Monday, March 20, 2000. He was born June 15, 1932, in Boquet, a son of the late Fred M. and Gail E. Bogle Walton. He is survived by his wife, Rosella "Toots" McGrew Walton; a son, Fred M.; three daughters , Elizabeth G. Grimes and husband, Tom, Rose Ann Grant, and Mary Catherine Stouffer and husband, Eric, all of Boiling Springs, Pa.; a brother, Fred E. Walton of the state of Indiana; a sister, Freda Frescura of Boquet; two grandsons, Corey Grant and Derek Grimes; and a granddaughter, Lauryn Stouffer. Martha K. Hall Watt, 93, of New Alexandria, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center. She was born Aug. 3, 1906, in Latrobe, the daughter of the late Jerry and Emma Barnhart Hall. She was a school teacher, having graduated from Indiana State Teachers College. She was a member of the Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria. She also belonged to the O.E.S. 281 of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bevington Watt Sr.; a son, Bevington Watt Jr.; a grandson, Timothy Wall; four brothers ; and three sisters . She is survived by two sons , James P. and wife, Maxine Watt, and William O. and wife, Mary Lu Watt, all of New Alexandria; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Watt of New Alexandria; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Paul N. "Shorty" Yates, 83, of Delmont, formerly of Manor, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. He was born Sept. 8, 1916, in North Huntingdon, a son of the late George and Myrtle Painter Yates. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Harrison City, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart in Europe. He was a member of the Manor American Legion Post 472, the Oak Hollow Senior Citizens and the Saturday Night Bowlers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence "Doll" Hawk Yates; a brother, George "Lefty" Yates; and two sisters , Ruth Taylor and Helen Yates. He is survived by his wife, Minnie M. "Myrt" Kistler Yates; a son, Clyde P. and wife, Angelyn Yates, of Huntsville, Ala.; three stepsons, Blake A. and wife, Delores Richert, of Level Green, Ronald E. and wife, Patricia Richert, of Harrison City and Randy L. and wife, Sharon Richert, of Hudson, Ohio; a niece he raised, Evelyn Hensler; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. JOHN J. EMILI
John J. Emili, 76, of Greensburg RD9, died Friday, March 17, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born Feb. 21, 1924, in Derry, he was a son of the late Nazzareno and Ida DelCastello Emili. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the former General Tire of Greensburg. He was a professional musician for over 40 years and a member of the Quintones. He was also a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department, Democratic Club of Greensburg, American Legion, Latrobe, and the Greensburg Musical Society Local 339 of the American Federation of Musicians. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hector. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters , Phyllis and Olga Emili, Beatrice Hyduke and Rita Grabiak; and a brother, Herman Emili. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Viola Schehr Emili; two sons , Jerry Emili and wife, Barbara, of Greensburg and Don Nazzareno Emili and Ana of Chicago, Ill.; a granddaughter, Jessica; three sisters , Mary Louise Ferretti and husband, John, of Greensburg RD9, Jessie Marto and husband, Robert, of Greensburg and Cecelia Antinori and husband, John, of Crabtree; a brother, Carl Emili and wife, Gladys, of Greensburg RD9; and several nieces and nephews. Harvey F. Hackley Jr., 54, of Greensburg RD9, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his residence. He was born March 24, 1945, in Jeannette, the son of the late Harvey F. Sr. and Geraldine Blank Hackley. He was an employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Coddington Hackley; a sister, Peg Bonner and husband, Jack, of Cockeysville, Md.; and nieces, Suzanne and Karen. Irene L. Hahn, 78, of Murrysville, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Turtle Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Hahn, in 1988. She was a homemaker and a resident of Murrysville for 53 years. She was a charter member of the Calvary Lutheran Church of Murrysville. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Parker and her husband, Bruce, of Delmont; a son, Wayne E. Hahn and his wife, Patty, of Murrysville; four grandchildren, Lance and Lon Wilson, and Autumn and Jeremiah Hahn; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Lon Jr., Hannah and Seth Wilson.
