Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

James H. McKee, Jr.
James H. McKee, Jr., age 81, of 13 Valley Park South, Bethlehem PA, formerly of Black River Road, Bethlehem PA, died Friday, January 12, 2001 in Richland County, Columbia SC as a result of an automobile accident. He was the Widower of the late Ruth (Rose) McKee, who died November 3, 1994.

Born November 25, 1919 in Atlanta GA, he was the Son of the late James H. McKee, Sr. and Emma (Hill) McKee. He was the Editor of Employee Communication at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and the Employee Review, which had him traveling to all Bethlehem Steel Plants/Sites from 1953 until his retirement in March 29, 1985. Prior employment included Wall Street Journal and McGraw Hill in New York City. After his retirement he worked part-time for the Northampton County Development Corp. for several years as editor of the Newsletter.

Mr. McKee was a graduate of Purdue University where he was the editor of The Exponent, the University newspaper. He was a Veteran of the United States Army , having served during World War II. From 1941, he served in Army Intelligence, Stateside, Panama, Pacific, New Guinea and Japan.

He was a Member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem PA. He was a Former Council person, several terms; Archivist - wrote 2 histories of the congregation and maintains all the documents & archives for their Heritage Room; Northeastern PA Synod as Synod Council member, Stewardship Committee and Representative to PA Council of Churches, Lutheran Congregational Services having volunteered in keeping their records/documents. He was also a Member of the Lutheran Disaster Response Office, Allentown PA and served on the Board of Greater Bethlehem Area Council of Churches and the Board of New Bethany Ministries.

His other achievements include: Wrote several articles for the former Bethlehem Globe Times, New Bethany Ministry and many other non-profit organizations; For the past 5 years, he had spent 56 weeks archiving & preserving the records of the Frederick Lutheran Church, St. Thomas US Virgin Island. The early articles, records and documents were mostly in Danish and later in English. The Battle of preserving these archives are against the weather, time and termites. He was instrumental in explaining the severity of this effort to the Crumley Archives, located at Lutheran Southern Seminary in SC at the time of his death. His goal was to protect, microfilm and translate these records, which will be accomplished with the help of the Lutheran Southern Seminary.

He is survived by his Son, James H. McKee III of Indianapolis IN; daughters , Elizabeth M. Elterich of Bethlehem PA and Mary M. Anderson of West Lafayette IN; Sally Schlegel of East Lansing MI; 6 Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2001 at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 474 Vine Street, Bethlehem PA. Calling Hours will be 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Interment in Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Keys to the 21st Century Building Fund of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 474 Vine St. Bethlehem PA 18015 and/or Frederick Lutheran Church, PO Box 58, 7 Norre Gade, St Thomas USVI 00804.

Karen M. McMenamy
Karen M. McMenamy, age 29, of Springtown PA, formerly of Easton PA, died as a result of an automobile accident on January 31, 2006 in Pohatcong Township NJ.

Born in Fountain Hill PA, she is the daughter of Charles A. and Eileen L. (Donahue) McMenamy with whom she resided. Karen worked as a day care attendant and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville PA. On Dec. 21, 2005, she received her diploma from Raritan Valley Community College in Early Childhood Development. Karen loved her family, animals and children.

In addition to her Parents, she is survived by her brothers , Kevin of Bethlehem PA, John of Coopersburg PA, Keith of Brooklyn NY and Jamie of N. Hollywood CA; and sisters , Michelle Lapp of Hilltown and Kristen of London, England.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Church, 4050 Durham Road, Ottsville PA. There will be no calling hours. Interment to follow services at the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown PA.

Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to your local SPCA Chapter.

Lesa Anne Mesaros

Lesa Anne Mesaros, age 32 of 650 Main Street, Hellertown, PA, died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at the St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, PA. Born July 28, 1967 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of Richard F. and Joan (Kern) Mesaros of Hellertown, PA.

She is survived by her parents, and three brothers , Norman N. Comoglio of Crest View, FL, Rickie L. Comoglio of Hellertown, PA and Barry J. Comoglio of Doylestown, PA, paternal grandmother, Erma (Hari) Keller of Hellertown, PA and her fiancé, Brian E. Raudenbush of Hellertown, PA.

She was the Chef/Manager for the East Texas Cafeteria at Day Timers, Inc. for 4 years until 1998. Previously she had worked for M.W. Wood Company, Allentown from 1987-1994. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Calling hours will be 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown, PA.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon, PO Box 153, Hellertown, PA 18055

LESTER E. 'LES' MUTH
Lester E. 'Les' Muth, age 65, of 6671 Phillips Road, Germansville, PA , died Sunday, February 13, 2000 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., PA. He was the husband of Aniko (Kopoczi) Muth. The couple celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary last April 1st.

Born in New Ringgold, Schuylkill County, PA on September 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Frederick R. C. and Bertha M. (Zettlemoyer) Muth. He was a Beam Yard Worker at the Former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 years before retiring in 1985.

He was an Army Veteran (Peacetime) and an Honorary Member of the United Steel Workers of America, Union Local #2599, Bethlehem, PA. He was also a member of the Goodwill Fire Company #1, Germansville, PA, the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, New Tripoli, PA, and the Copeechan Fish & Game Club, Schnecksville, PA.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Donna J. Muth of Schnecksville, PA, a son David E. Muth of Allentown, PA, two step-sons , Julius Racz at home, and Attila Kopoczi of Allentown, PA, a sister, Mildred E. wife of Elwood C. Kline of Germansville, PA and three brothers , Marvin M. Muth of Germansville, PA, Clayton C. Muth of Germansville, PA, Earl J. Muth of Germansville, PA.

There will be a private Funeral Service and Interment with no calling hours. Arrangements will be handled by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to the Veterans Outpatient Clinic, 2937 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown, PA 18103, Attn: Administrative Office - Paul Pagoda.

Mary B. (Butryn) Marcincin
Mary B. (Butryn) Marcincin, age 85, of 1142 Furnace Street, Hellertown PA, died Monday, November 13, 2000 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. She was the Widow of the late John Marcincin.

Born August 1, 1915 in New York NY, she was the Daughter of the late Stephen and Sofia (Butzon) Butryn. She was a Member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown PA.

She is survived by Two Grandchildren, Matthew S. Marcincin of Hellertown PA and Marc S. Marcincin of Hellertown PA. She was predeceased in death by her Son, Stephen J. Marcincin on August 18, 1998.

Funeral Services 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2000 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown followed by a Mass of 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. Calling Hour 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

Mabel E. (Krause) Metzger
Mabel E. (Krause) Metzger, age 90, of 1925 Turner Street, Allentown PA, formerly of Germansville PA, died Saturday, February 17, 2001 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown PA. She was the Widow of the late Charles O. Metzger.

Born September 30, 1910 in New Tripoli PA, she was the Daughter of the late George E. and Aquilla (Sittler) Krause. She was a Member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Slatington PA. She was a Life Member, Goodwill Fire Company #1, Germansville; Member, Community Fire Company of New Tripoli and Former Member, Central Grange # 1650, Germansville.

She is survived by her daughters , Marion G. Kulp of Wahiawa HI, Marie M. Bachman of Germansville PA, Eleanor L. Lakatosh of Slatington PA, Louise M., wife of Paul G. Helfrich of Allentown PA and Patricia L., wife of William D. Leiby of Andreas PA; sons , Franklin G. Metzger Sr. of New Tripoli PA, Marlin L. Metzger of New Tripoli PA and Richard C. Metzger of Germansville PA; Sister, Winifred Snyder of Allentown PA; 19 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Calling Hours will be 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend David D. Tietje will be Officiating. Interment at Heidelberg Union Cemetery, Slatington PA.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Heidelberg U.C.C. Memorial Fund and/or the Goodwill Fire Company #1, Germansville and/or the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli, c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Marvin M. Moser
Marvin M. Moser, age 58, of 6495 Trickle Creek Road, Bath PA, died Monday, December 18, 2000 in his home. He was the Husband of Doris L. (Muldowney) Moser. The couple celebrated their 31st Anniversary this past August 16th.

Born March 30, 1942 in Bethlehem PA, he was the Son of Margaret A. (Heckman) Moser-Shell of Kutztown PA and the late Francis R. Moser. He worked in the Shipping Department of the Bethlehem Steel for 30 ˝ years until retiring in January 1996. He was a Member of Nazareth Baptist Church, Nazareth PA.

He is survived by his Wife and mother ; Son, Jeffrey D. Moser of Slatington PA and Daniel J. Moser of Bath; daughters , Laurie L. Markulics of Bath PA and Kelly A. Sanchez of Bath PA; brothers - Robert Moser of Bethel PA, Dale Moser of Stroudsburg PA and Barrie Moser of Center Hall PA; sisters , LaVerne Balthaser of Bernville PA and Susan Blickley of Allentown PA; and 3 Grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2000 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Calling Hour 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mary N. Murphy
Mary N. Murphy, age 95, formerly of Bridge St., Bethlehem PA, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown PA. She is the wife of the late Joseph Leo Murphy.

Born in Ansonia CT, she is the daughter of Andrew and Pertunia (Yakalawich) Makaravich. Mary worked as a Weaver for Laros, Bethlehem PA for 15 years.

She is survived by her sons , John "Jack" F. Murphy and his wife Sally of Lower Saucon Township PA and Joseph R. Murphy and his wife Jerry of Las Vegas NV; Sister, Adelle Nye of Wilkes Barre PA; 9 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her Daughter, Patricia Ann Murphy.

Services will be Private and at the convenience of the family. Interment at the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton PA. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem PA 18017 and/or the Lutz-Franklin School House Restoration Project c/o the Lower Saucon Historical Society, PO Box 176, Hellertown PA 18055.
