ROSE MARIE LEVIC

Rose Marie Levic, 85, of Irwin (Evanstown), died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 28, 1914, in Crabtree, a daughter of the late Dominick and Angeline (Belline) Davanti. Rose was a homemaker and also was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, St. Edward Altar Rosary Society and Sunshine Club and the SNPJ Lodge #23, Evanstown. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew W. Levic, in 1985; a son, Donald W. Levic, in 1980; three brothers , Frank, Joseph and Michael Davanti; and three sisters , Mary Santori, Florence Conte and Amelia Stoltz. Rose is survived by her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Levic of Evanstown; four grandsons, Randy and his wife, Ruth Ann, Jeff, Brian and his wife, Sherri, and Donald and his wife, Keli; four great-grandchildren, Tanya Nicole, Taylor Lee, Danny and Laura Rose; also a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Lawrence L. Manchas officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. A St. Edward Parish rosary will be recited Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

WYATT SAMUEL LUSHER

Wyatt Samuel Lusher, 2-year-old son of John and Michele Harpster Lusher of North Huntingdon, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Oakland. He was born Sept. 3, 1997, in Jeannette. He was a member of St. Agnes Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers , Dyllion James and Clint Adam Lusher, both at home; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Alice Lusher of Trafford; his maternal grandmother, Jane Harpster of Lower Burrell; his maternal grandfather, Frank Harpster of New Kensington; his maternal great-grandmother, Pauline Schindler of Vandergrift; and a number of aunts and uncles. Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Family requests donations to one's favorite charity or memorials to the family.

DAVID W. MACK JR.

David W. Mack Jr., 56, of Greensburg, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 28, 1943, in Greensburg, the son of Caroline Tyson Mack of Greensburg and the late David W. Mack. He formerly was employed by the Tribune-Review Publishing Co., where his Father , David W. Mack, was the publisher. He currently was a financial investor. David was a graduate of the Valley School in Ligonier and attended St. James School. He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and a graduate of St. Vincent College. He was very active in the Arthritis Foundation and was currently serving as vice chairman of the advisory board, for which he served as chairman in 1993 and 1994. He was a member of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Westmoreland Society of the Westmoreland Museum, The Westmoreland Trust, Genesis Inc. of Pittsburgh and the Greensburg Country Club. David was an avid photographer who donated his time and talent to the Valley School, Arthritis Foundation and The Westmoreland Trust. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rose D'Onofrio Mack; a son, Jordan David Mack, who is attending Villanova University in Philadelphia; a daughter, Christina Juliet Mack, who is attending Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh; a sister, Caroline Huff Mack of Northampton, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Susan F. D'Onofrio of Jeannette; and numerous nieces and nephews. David's relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, www.pantalone.com, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Entombment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation, American Heart Association, or the Valley School. Natale N. Pantalone, funeral director.

EDWARD J. MIKA

Edward J. "Duke" Mika, 66, of Export, died Saturday, March 25, 2000. He was born July 6, 1933, in Export, a son of the late Thomas C. and Katherine M. Bush Mika. Mr. Mika was retired from the Bushy Run Research Center. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Export, the L.O.O.M. #234, Export, and the Bushy Run American Legion Post 260. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Devan Mika; three brothers , Joseph, Stanley "Putsin" and Alex Mika; and a sister, Frances Persin. Duke is survived by two sons , Edward W. and wife, Melissa, of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Kenneth and wife, Beth, of Medina, Ohio; two brothers , Frank "Turk" and wife, Betty, of Slickville and Thomas and wife, Diane, of Mt. Jewett, Pa.; three sisters , Helen Lucas, Sally Hohman and Mrs. Murphy (Agnes) Murray, all of Export; two sisters -in-law, Elsie Mika and Marlene Mahinske, both of Export; and dear friend Linda Farrin. Also survived by six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Export, with the Rev. Father Charles Knoll as celebrant. Interment in Grandview Cemetery, Export.

AGNES SARKIS NARDINI

Agnes Sarkis Nardini, 77, of Mars, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in UPMC Passavant Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Pittsburgh. She was a homemaker, and worked as a receptionist for the John Austin Co. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne N. Hanovick of Mars; four sons , Lawrence M. Nardini of Las Vegas, Nev., Darryl M. Nardini of Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald Nardini of Tampa, Fla., and Victor Nardini of Wexford; a brother, John Sarkis of South Hills; two sisters , Marie Schrello and Gennie Borek, both of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SIMONS FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, (412) 367-3100, www.simonsfuneralhomeinc.com., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment in North Side Catholic Cemetery. RALPH A. STAUFFER

Ralph A. Stauffer, 87, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Briarcliff Pavilion, North Huntingdon. He was born Aug. 14, 1912, in McKeesport, a son of the late Charles H. and Grace Finlayson Stauffer. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by National Tube Works as a Motor Inspector/Electrician. He was a member of the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Jean Watts and Ruth Manns. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Schoeller Stauffer; his son, Ralph Jr. and wife, Linda, of Clinton; two daughters , Mrs. John (Noreen) Coyne of Sewickley and Mrs. Max (Mira) Core of Rodgersville; a brother, Charles Stauffer of Hemet, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Simpson officiating, followed by interment in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.

JOSEPHINE POLYFKA TURNSHEK

Josephine Polyfka Turnshek, 83, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in the Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh. She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Wilmerding, a daughter of the late Joseph and Kunygunda Krawiec Polyfka. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a secretary by Westinghouse Air Brake of Wilmerding for 18 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin and its Christian Mothers and the Golden Echoes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Turnshek, in 1993; and a brother, Stanley Polyfka. Surviving are a son, David and his wife, Diane Turnshek, of Irwin; three daughters , Sandra and her husband, Walter Pullens, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Carole Turnshek of West Mifflin and Janis McDonald of Herminie; five grandchildren, James, Steven, Alex and Matthew Turnshek and Bill McDonald; two brothers , Edmund and his wife, Martha Polyfka, of Monroeville and Frank Polyfka of Wilmerding; two sisters , Helen and her husband, Walter Slonska, of East McKeesport and Sophie Maschok of Monroeville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

WALTER J. BUTZ

Walter J. "Fuzzy" Butz, 56, of Laurel Highlands Lodge, Donegal, formerly of Latrobe, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 1, 1943, in Latrobe, a son of Leona E. Burick Butz of Latrobe and the late Stanley E. Butz. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, and was an avid sports fan. In addition to his mother , he is survived by two brothers , Raymond M. Butz and his wife, Dorothy, and Thomas F. Butz and his wife, Judy, all of Latrobe; a sister, Theresa Siko and her husband, Richard, of Latrobe; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in memory of Walter be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the JOHN J. JOHN J. FILKOVSKI SR.

John J. Filkovski Sr., 55, of Claridge, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Westmoreland City, a son of the late Frank and Mary Bronic Filkovski. He was employed as a senior electrical engineer for A.B.B. in Greensburg. He was a member of St. Boniface Church in Penn, the American Legion in Irwin and the Slovenian Home in Claridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Filkovski. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sarah J. Mallik Filkovski; three sons , John J. Filkovski Jr. of Penn, Jeffery S. Filkovski of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gregory T. Filkovski of Muncie, Ind.; a brother, Ronald Filkosky of Jeannette; a sister, Anita Cherny of McKeesport; and a granddaughter, Jenna. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Boniface Church with Monsignor David L. Fisher as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Hempfield Township. A vigil service will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

JOSEPHINE A. CHRZASTECK HARVEY

Josephine A. Chrzasteck Harvey, 79, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born March 18, 1921, in Wilmerding, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chrzasteck. She was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church, North Huntingdon. She is survived by her husband, George Harvey; six sons , Paul A. Harvey of North Huntingdon, James B. Harvey of Penn Township, John C. Harvey of Manor, Mark D. Harvey of Herminie, Earl E. Harvey of Irwin, and Ray F. Harvey of North Huntingdon; and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Franklin D. Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.

FRANCES Y. (HOLIAN) McELHINNEY
Frances Y. (Holian) McElhinney, 77, of Munhall, died Saturday, March 25, 2000. Wife of the late William T. McElhinney. She is survived by two daughters , Maribeth Goretzke of Wisconsin and Kathy Andrew of Baldwin; three sons , William McElhinney of Versailles, and Daniel McElhinney and Patrick McElhinney, both of West Mifflin; four sisters , Kate Sukaly and Rita Holian, both of Munhall, Teresa Schaff of West Mifflin, and Noreen Soltis of West Homestead; and a brother, Kevin Holian of Munhall. Also survived by 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. MABEL A. MEEHAN

Mabel A. Meehan, 79, of Latrobe, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Brandonville, W.Va., the daughter of the late Floyd O. and Dessie Nieman Taylor. She was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and had retired from the Latrobe Area Hospital as a registered nurse. She was the secretary for St. Vincent DePaul (St. Rose). She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Meehan; and a son, the Rev. Hugh J. Meehan. Survivors include a daughter, Arietta Zello and her husband, James, of Latrobe; a brother, William C. Taylor and his wife, Geraldine, of Bacaville, Calif.; a granddaughter, Mary Frances Zello; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose Church with the Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Unity Township.

HARRY A. O'HARA

Harry A. O'Hara, 74, of Derry, went to be with his Lord, Friday, March 24, 2000, at his home. He was born July 15, 1925, in Derry, a son of the late Joseph D. and Ernestine Roble O'Hara. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church, Ligonier. He was retired from Kennametal, Latrobe, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marie (Andrews) O'Hara; a daughter, Colleen O'Hara; four brothers , Joseph, Clifford, Kenneth and Robert O'Hara; and a sister, Margaret O'Hara. Survived by his wife, Helen Campbell O'Hara, formerly of Harrison City; a son, Michael A. O'Hara and his wife, Kathleen, of Bel Air, Md.; a daughter, Theresa Ankney and her husband, Tom, of Latrobe; a brother, Vaughn O'Hara of Maryland; two sisters , Louise Anderson of California and Dorothy Mapel of Latrobe; and two granddaughters, Magda O'Hara and Michelle Ankney. There are no public visitations. Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Latrobe Area Hospital Hospice. The JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, is in charge of arrangements.
