PAWTUCKET - May Lauzon, 83, of Pawtucket, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of William G. Lauzon. They had been married 53 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late James and Frances (Lee) Rowe. Mrs.Lauzon was employed as an automobile insurance clerk for Pawtucket Mutual Insurance Co. until her retirement.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Kenneth & Deborah Evans, Nicole & Mark Longo and Francesca Longo. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Clarence, Richard, James, Clifford and Betsy Rowe and Frances Evans.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 am at Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, E. Providence. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln.

Rita Levesque

PAWTUCKET - Rita Levesque, 94, of Charles Street, passed into eternal life on Thursday at the Home & Hospice inpatient Center after an illness.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Feeney) Levesque. Rita had lived in Pawtucket for the last 25 years. She had been employed as an office clerk at the former Shartenberg's and also at the former Outlet Co. before retiring.
She leaves 2 nieces, Mary Consilia Doran with whom she made her home and Mary Teresa Thomas of Pawtucket and a nephew, Larry Doyle of Hampstead, NH. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Sr. Mary Consilia, Y. Beatrice Doyle and Anna Chmura and 2 brothers, Frank and Raymond Levesque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30am in St. Joseph's Church, Walcott Street Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Lucien Duquette

PAWTUCKET - Lucien "Duke" Duquette, 92, a retired painter, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Cora M. (Choiniere) Duquette. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Philias and Leda (Pincince) Duquette, he resided in Central Falls and Pawtucket most of his life. Duke was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Besides his wife, he leaves five children, Roger Duquette, Rachel Santuri and Susan Cooney all of Florida, Russell Duquette of Bristol and Rene Duquette of Cape Cod; two brothers, Norman and Camille Duquette; a sister, Carmen Duquette; five grandchildren, Denise, Debbie, Emily, Alyssa and Brandon and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Lucille Latraverse. His funeral with Military Honors will be held Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Committal Service at 10 a.m. at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION Monday 4 7 p.m.

Robert E. Belanger, Jr.

PAWTUCKET - Robert E. Belanger, Jr., 44 of Pawtucket died Sunday in Providence. He was the husband of Angela (Collins) Belanger. Born in Providence he was the son of Betty (Johnson) Belanger and the late Robert E. Belanger, Sr.
Besides his wife and mother, Robert is survived by a daughter, Torrie April Belanger of West Virginia; a son Justin Belanger of Texas; two brothers, Mark Belanger of Pawtucket and Edward Belanger of Florida; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Robert was the brother of the late April Belanger Hayden.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Ernest H. Pfanstiehl

Ernest H. Pfanstiehl
CRANSTON - Ernest H. Pfanstiehl, 79, of Cranston died peacefully Monday, 12/12/11 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Louise (Davis) Pfanstiehl. Born in Providence, a son of the late Louis J.M. and Nellie (James) Pfanstiehl, he was a retired teamster, retiring in 1987. He worked for Mitchell Transport for 26 years. He was an Army Korean War veteran and he was a steward at the Pawtuxet Athletic Club and a member of the Gaspee Committee.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children; Carol Ann Baker and her husband Mark, Donna Palardy and husband William, Jr., Paul Pfanstiehl, Louis J.M. Pfanstiehl, Thomas Pfanstiehl and wife Deborah, Brent Pfanstiehl and wife Dana, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Christiaan, Elizabeth, Louis and Helen.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, 12/16, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Church, 139 Ocean Ave., Cranston. Burial will follow to Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.

John Anthony Matta Jr.
December 15, 2011

CUMBERLAND -John Anthony Matta Jr., 51, of England Street, passed away Monday at home. He was the husband of Colleen (McVey) Matta.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of John A. Matta Sr. and Anna (Salus) Matta of Cumberland. He resided in Cumberland for 30 years, previously residing in Central Falls.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, John A. Matta III, and Brian A. Matta, both of Cumberland; one daughter, Rebecca A. Matta of Cumberland. He also leaves one sister Leslie Tordoff of Cumberland, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, 4905 Del Ray Avenue, Suite 500, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.

Myles Alper

REHOBOTH - Myles Alper, a longtime resident of Rehoboth, MA died Saturday, December 10, after a short illness. He was 88.
Born in Providence, Alper attended Hope High. He graduated from Peekskill Military Academy and Boston University before enlisting in the U. S. Air Corps during World War II. He lived in Rehoboth, MA since 1948 when he first settled there with wife Alma. They built a home on their beloved Juniper Farms and raised seven children.
Alper was the owner of Grace Knitting Co. and the Brass Corner, both of Pawtucket. He devoted much of his time to education, serving on the Rehoboth School Committee, the Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School building committee, and was chairman of the Beckwith Middle School building committee.
Keeping count of seven children is not easy, but Alper enjoyed being a part of each son and daughters life, whether it was football, Little League, track or other school sporting event, a Boy Scout hike, a musical recital, or even an occasional meeting with the school principal.
He enjoyed his family's summer vacations in Casco, Maine, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with his 10 grandchildren.
However, the greatest love of his life was his wife of 64 years, Alma, who survives him.
Myles is also survived by two daughters, Joyce Alper of Dedham, MA and Betsy Alper (Bruce Powers) of Harrisville, RI; five sons, Clifford (Sue) of Pawtucket, RI, Bennett of Belmont, MA, Thomas (Joyce) of Bethel Park, PA, Warren of Harrisville, RI and Leland (Heidi) of Millis, MA; as well as 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Brendan, Jeremy, Benjamin, Andrew, Kelly, Daniel, Molly, Lucas and Isaiah.
A funeral service will be held in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street,North Attleboro on Saturday, December 17 at 5 p.m. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans, Inc. at www.veteransinc.org or by check to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.

David J. Bosse

CENTRAL FALLS - David J. Bosse passed unexpectedly on December 11th. He was the husband of Shirley (Daley) Carroll- Bosse.
Besides his wife, David will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kristine and her husband, Michael. He was the son of the late Roland "Joe" and Beverly (Howland) Bosse. David will be fondly remembered by Terry and their precious grandchildren, Michael, Kryslyn, AJ and Kathleen. He will forever be remembered by his brothers, Wayne, Doug and Glen, seven step children Edward, James, Joseph, Charles, Michael, Tricia and Tracy Carroll, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. He was the father of the late David Bosse and brother of the late Roland "Butch" Kenny, and Gregory.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 3 pm followed by a service at 3pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.

Emily D. Gonzalez

PAWTUCKET - Emily D.Gonzalez, 72, of Baldwin Street, Pawtucket died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Joaquin Vieira and Aida (Ferreira) Vieira.
Mrs. Gonzalez was an assembler for the Fram Corporation for many years.
She is survived by her children, Sheryl L. Gonzalez with whom she made her home, Denise Rodriquez, Antonio Gonzalez, Louis Gonzalez, Steven Gonzalez, Wesley Gonzalez, and Walter Gonzalez. Mrs. Gonzalez is also survived by her brother Eduardo Vieira a sister Francelina Barber, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Ricardo and Sabrina Gonzalez and the sister of the late Maria Andrews and Alice Sigers.
The funeral for Mrs. Gonzalez will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edwards Church, Weeden Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Her burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. The calling hours for Mrs. Gonzalez will be Friday 4-8 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Lawrence S. Iacovone

PAWTUCKET - Lawrence S. Iacovone, Jr., 54 of Pawtucket died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. Lawrence was the beloved husband of Barbara Iacovone.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Lawrence S. and Beatrice (Hargreaves) Iacovone, Sr. Lawrence attended Bryant College and was a graduate of Roger Williams University.
Lawrence lived in Rehoboth and then Fall River from 1978 -1990 before returning to Pawtucket. He worked for Commercial Insulation Contractors, Inc. as a Commercial Insulator. He had been a member of the Montaup Country Club since 1980 and was an accomplished golfer. He coached Pineview Little League and Darlington Plains Basketball.
He will be forever remembered by his children, Lawrence S. Iacovone, III of Pawtucket; Justin L. Iacovone and his wife Shelley of Mansfield, MA and Julia A. Grimes of Pawtucket and his loving niece, Donna Riendeau of Warren. He was also the treasured Papa of 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Lawrence was the brother of the late Diane Ferrari.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Joseph Barron Leeds; beloved mother of Dr. Kathryn (John) Meininger, Ellen (Cameron) Zebrun and Barron (Casey) Leeds; devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Michelle, Cory, Kristen, Emily & Heather; and great grandmother of Kayleigh & Max.
Raised in Pawtucket, RI, Claire was awarded BA in English & French from Brown University in 1941.
Services entrusted to the BLAKE-DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 226 Collings Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108. Funeral Wednesday 8:30 AM from the FUNERAL HOME. Funeral MASS 10 AM in St. Vincent Pallotti Church, St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Haddon Twp., NJ. Entombment beside her beloved husband at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
