Anthony C. Guglielmo
November 24, 2010

Anthony C. Guglielmo, 75, of West Warwick passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Peggy Ann (Parente) Guglielmo. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Domenic and Giuseppina (Colletta) Guglielmo.

A self employed contractor, Mr. Guglielmo was the owner and operator of GUG Construction. He served in The United States Army and the R.I. National Guard during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He received his Bachelors Degree from Johnson & Whales University and was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Leo Council, the German Club and the Homebuilders Association of Rhode Island.

He was the loving father of Dr. Maria Guglielmo of East Greenwich and Maureen Jensen of Trumbull, CT. Cherished grandfather of Brady Jensen, Meghan Jensen, Chiara Guglielmo and Sabrina Guglielmo. Loving brother of Ernest Guglielmo of Providence and the late Margaret Dandeneault, Vincent Guglielmo, Antonetta DiRocco, Pasquale Guglielmo and Thomasina DiMuccio.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Saturday from 8:30-9:30 am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial cemetery, Exeter.

Gifts in his memory to Kent Hospital, 455 Toll Gate Rd., Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.

A. Florence Harrison
December 2, 2010

A. Florence Harrison, 91, of Warwick, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Benjamin C. Harrison. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Annie Jane (MacKenzie) Adams.

Mrs. Harrison was a Salesperson for Filenes, Inc. until her retirement in 1989. She was devoted to her family and her service to Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, where she was an active member.

She was the beloved mother of Jean A. Vincent and her husband John of Greenville. Loving grandmother of Jennifer L. Vincent. Caring sister of Jean M. Campbell of Providence and the late James C. Adams, Mildred A. Adams and Ruth M. Mawson.

Her Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 10:00-11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, 805 Main Ave., Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.

Janet (Smith) Wilson
December 5, 2010

Janet (Smith) Wilson, 70, of Wakefield, died peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at South County Hospital, surrounded by her friends and family. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Amos I.I. Smith, Sr. and Mary E. (Bliss) Smith. She was the wife of the late Edward Wilson and the companion of the late Edward A. 'Buck Wheat' Robinson.

Mrs. Wilson was a life long resident of South Kingstown who worked as a Teacher's Assistant and Housekeeper for South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation until her retirement. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves her nine children: Edward Wilson, Keith Wilson, Kevin Wilson, James Wilson and his wife Kim, Mark Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, Kendell Kenner, Resa Parson and her husband Trez, Andrea Smith, and Cristen Kenner. She was the mother of the late Betty A. Wilson and grandmother of the late Mark A. Wilson. She was the loving sister of Amos Smith of Pawtucket, James Smith of Newport, John Smith of Providence, Richard Smith of Wakefield, Mark Smith of Wakefield, Hannah Calhoun of Tennessee, Leola Robinson of Newport, and the late Jeffrey Smith and Stuart Smith. Cherished grandmother of 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in New Fernwood cemetery, South Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the service.

Joan M. Fish
December 7, 2010

Joan M. Fish, wife of the late Martin 'Marty' Fish, died Tuesday. She and her husband owned and operated M J's Shoe Biz for over 20 years which she continued to operate after his death until the plaza was sold.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Saturday from 9:00-10:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) followed by a Graveside Service at 10:45 am in Swan Point cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence.

John A. Tedeschi
December 9, 2010

John A. Tedeschi, 88, of Charlestown, died peacefully at home on December 9, 2010. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Anthony Tedeschi and Lucia (Castaldi) Tedeschi. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Gradlione) Tedeschi and companion of Mary Daly.

Mr. Tedeschi was a Truck Driver for Cardi Construction Company and was the former owner of The Shamrock Restaurant of Warwick. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed with the 36th Evacuation Hospital in the Pacific. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 254, Pasco Senerchia Post # 74 of West Warwick, and a former member of The 60 Inc.

Besides his companion, he leaves his sister, Gilda E. Petrocelli of Warwick.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 9:45 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.

Stephen X. Mahoney
December 11, 2010

Stephen X. Mahoney, 67, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick passed away Saturday at Kent Hospital. He was the former husband of Marie M. Paquin of Naples, Florida. Born in Boston, Ma, he was a son of the late James F. and Mary (Martel) Mahoney.

Mr. Mahoney was a Claims Investigator for DHL Courier Service until 2007. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. An avid golfer, he worked part time at Goddard Park, volunteered at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic and played weekly at Stone-E-Lea Golf Club in Attleboro, MA. Mr. Mahoney was a volunteer for Parents Without Partners and was a loyal friend of Bill W.

He was the beloved father of Mark S. Mahoney of Bethel, CT and Michelle M. Mahoney of New York, NY. Loving grandfather of Lily Cara Mahoney. Caring brother of Terry Mahoney of Webster, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.

Alice M. (Wilcox) Pacheco
December 16, 2010

Alice M. (Wilcox) Pacheco, 82, of Warwick, passed away Thursday at home. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Pacheco. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Florose Wilcox.

Mrs. Pacheco was a weaver for the Engineered Yarn Co. in Coventry until her retirement in 1989. She loved being with her family. She enjoyed boating and reading Harlequin Romances.

She was the beloved mother of John R. Pacheco and his wife Cindy, Edward J. Pacheco, Jr. and Maureen Perrino, all of Warwick. Loving grandmother of Alicia Perrino, John Pacheco, Jr. and Daniel Pacheco. Cherished great grandmother of Jason Pacheco.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Sunday from 2-4 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial will be private.

Lidia M. Silva

Born in Bravo, Cape Verde on Sep. 15, 1913

Departed on Jul. 14, 2008 and resided in North Providence, RI.

NORTH PROVIDENCE – Silva, Lidia M., age 94, formerly of Urban Ave. and Talbot St., died Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Waterview Villa. She was the wife of the late Peter H. Silva.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, on Sept. 15, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Boaventura Canto and Maria (Andrade) Mingola.

She is survived by her children, Robert Silva and Linda Lopes of East Providence and Peter Silva and his wife Linda of Pawtucket; her four grandchildren, Ann-Marie, David, Jennifer, and Robert; and her four great grandchildren, Holly, Hailey, Darius, and Phoenyx. She was the sister of Madalena Rodrigues of New Bedford and the late Laura Silva, Benvinda Andrade, Bartholomeu C. Mingola and Manuel C. Mingola.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday from 4-8pm in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. The funeral and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully requests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Assoc., 222 Richmond St., Providence, RI 02903.
