1913-2005
Cumberland - Antonio C. Cirillo, 91 of Amity St., Fall River and formerly of 202 Bryant St., Cumberland died Monday in the Southpoint Skilled Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Stacia M. (Picknik) Cirillo.
Born in Bristol he was a son of the late Gaetano and Agata (Russa) Cirillo. He resided in Fall River for the past five years previously residing in Cumberland.
He was a supervisor employed by the former Worcester Textile Co., North Providence for fifty years until his retirement.
He was a WW II, U. S. Army veteran serving in the European Theatre of Operations where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action.
He was an avid bowler and golfer.
He leaves a son Ronald Cirillo of Little Compton. Two sisters, Josephine Cirillo of Bristol and Angela Pelosi of East Greenwich. Two grandchildren, Peter Cirillo and Cynthia McQueen both of Tiverton. Four great grandchildren, Cole and Chace Cirillo and Maisie and Keira McQueen all of Tiverton.
His funeral, with military honors will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Broad St., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Sophie Mikula
1915-2005
Cumberland - Sophie Mikula, 89, of Barway Lane died Tuesday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Mikula Sr.
Born in Bellingham she was a daughter of the late Poiter and Antonina (Piascek) Sendrowski. She resided in Cumberland for the past thirty eight years previously residing in Central Falls.
She was a member of the former Polish White Eagles, Cumberland.
She leaves two daughters, Helen Garvey and Linda Freudigmann both of Lincoln. She also leaves nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was also the mother of the late Albert J. Mikula Jr. and the sister of the late Josephine Spyrka.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 391 High St., Central Falls. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Brian K. Durkin
1959-2005
Cumberland - Brian K. Durkin, 45, of 2nd Ave., died Wednesday. He was the husband of Suzanne (Petrin) Durkin.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of William and Claire (Lamarre) Durkin of Pascoag. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was a heavy equipment operator employed by the Modern Continental Construction Co., Boston for the past ten years.
He was a 1977 Cumberland High School graduate.
He was a member of Local 4 Operating Engineers, Boston.
Besides his wife and parents he leaves a daughter, Angela Durkin of Cumberland. Two sons, Daniel Durkin New York, NY and Derek Durkin of Cumberland. Five brothers, William Durkin, Rodney Durkin, David Durkin, Mark Durkin and Neil Durkin all of Cumberland. Three sisters, Jane Auclair of Cumberland, Holly Cook of Harrisville and Kelley Pedro of Pascoag. Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Blanche Halajko (Kolinek)
1922-2005
CUMBERLAND - Blanche Halajko (Kolinek), 83, formerly of Wamsett Avenue, died Wednesday in the Grandview Center, Chambers Street, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Walter P. Halajko.
Born in Kenedy, TX, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Neva (McAda) Kolinek. She resided in Cumberland for many years.
She was employed as a Bookkeeper by the former New York Lace Store, and the former M & F Case Company.
Mrs. Halajko was a communicant of the St. Aidan Church. She was a Member of the St. Aidan Seniors, and the St. Aidan Cancer Pad.
She leaves one daughter, Carine Aspinwall of Cumberland. A sister, Irene Pundt of Kenedy, TX, and one brother, Adolph Kolinek Jr. of Kenedy, TX. A granddaugher, Jessica Aspinwall of Cumberland. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8 A.M. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Margaret "Rita" Dumas
1925-2005
CUMBERLAND - Margaret "Rita" (Anastasiadis) Dumas, 80, died peacefully in her home in Cumberland. Her husband Albert Dumas died in 2002. She is survived by her son, Peter Dumas of West Boylston, MA, her daughter Patricia Aucoin of North Kingston, RI, and her brother Nicholas Anastasiadou. Margaret was the sister of the late Katherine Balla, Alexandra Koyanis, and Stanley Anastasiadou, and step-daughter of the late Mina Papadoupolous.
She was the daughter of the late Theodora and Peter Anastasiadou. Margaret was born in Thompson, CT in 1925. After the death of her father in 1931, the family moved to Salonica, Greece. During the Nazi occupation of Greece in 1942, she, along with her brothers and sisters, were taken prisoner by the by the German forces and sent to the concentration camp in Biberach, Germany. They were imprisoned for 28 months until their repatriation to the United States in 1945. The story of her experience at the camp, and Margaret and Katherine's efforts for restitution from the German government were featured in numerous front page articles in Rhode Island newspapers.
Upon her return from Germany, she lived in Woonsocket for several years, where she met Albert Dumas and they were married in 1950. The couple moved to Cumberland, where they built their own home and lived happily for over 50 years. Margaret worked for many years as a seamstress for the Rex Coat and Suit Comapany. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, and sewing, along with spending time with her beloved grandchildren, and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 30, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the RI Veteran Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rhode Island Services for the Blind,, 40 Fountain Street, Providence, RI 02903.

Margaret "Rita" Dumas
CUMBERLAND - Margaret "Rita" Dumas, 80, of Rabbitt Hill Road, died peacefully at home. She was the wife of the late Albert Dumas. They were happily married for over 50 years.

Walter H. Perry Jr.
1929-2005
CUMBERLAND - Walter H. Perry Jr., 76, of Oakwood Avenue, Cumberland died Monday at the Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of the late Joan (Preston) Perry.
Born in Seekonk, MA, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Mary R. (Medeiros) Perry. He resided in Cumberland for many years.
He was a truck driver for the former Textile Motor Express, of Pawtucket.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local 251, and was also a recipient of driving awards and commendations.
He leaves three sons, John Perry and David Higgins both of Cumberland, and Edward Higgins of Lincoln. Two daughters, LuAnn S. (Perry) Leedham of Johnston, RI, and Bonnie J. (Perry) Hawes of Little Compton. Five Grandchildren. A sister-in-law, Irene Ray of Cumberland. Father of the late Michael Higgins.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in the St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited. Calling Hours Thursday, 5-8 PM.

Nicholas Spaziano
1917 - 2005
Cumberland - Nicholas Spaziano,88, of Oak Ridge Dr. died Thursday in The Holiday Nursing Center, Manville. He was the husband of Florence (Bucci) Spaziano. They had been married for the past sixty years.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Antonio and Angela (Lepore) Spaziano. He resided in Cumberland for the past sixty years.
He was an Aircraft Supervisor, employed by the former Quonsett Naval Air Station in North Kingstown for twenty eight years retiring at the time of the base closing in the late 1970's.
He was a WW II, U. S. Army Air Corps veteran.
He was a communicant and trustee of Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland. He was the former chairman of the church St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a member of the Lincoln Council K of C and a former member of St. Anthony Council K of C, Providence.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Darlene Guerin of Cumberland. A brother, Alfred Spaziano of North Providence and a sister Lottie Iacobucci of Cranston. Two grandchildren, Marc A. Guerin and Jessica M. Guerin both of Cumberland. Two great grandchildren, Henri and Danielle Guerin both of Cumberland. He was also the brother of the late Mary and Amelia Spaziano.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, October 19th at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.

Blanche H. Gaumond (Cribari)
1929-2005
CUMBERLAND - Blanche H. (Cribari) Gaumond, 76, of Philip Avenue, Cumberland died Sunday in the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence after a long illness. She was the wife of Harry J. Gaumond Sr., and they were married fifty-four years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Brodeur) Cribari Card. She resided in Cumberland for forty-four years, previously living in Pawtucket.
She was a communicant of St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Mrs. Gaumond was a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, reading and watching the Red Sox.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Donna Scotto of North Smithfield, and Debra Fernandes of Smithfield; two sons, Harry J. Gaumond Jr. of Woonsocket, and Raymond P. Gaumond of Attleboro, MA; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Raymond Cribari and Alfred Cribari.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
