Doris Ruff
COLUMBIA — Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Jean Asbill Ruff of Columbia will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem AME Church in Winnsboro with burial to follow in Ebenezer AME Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 7-8 this evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Ruff will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Mrs. Ruff died on Dec. 6. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of George E. Sr. and Bertha M. Gilmore. Doris (Jean) attended the public schools of Richland County, and graduated from Eau Claire High. She continued her education and graduated Cum Laude from Francis Marion University and the Medical University of South Carolina with a BSN degree in Nursing. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and the South Carolina Nursing Association. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, where she had been employed for more than twenty-eight years.
Mrs. Ruff was a member of Ebenezer AME Church, and was the current First Lady of Bethlehem AME Church of Winnsboro. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Pastors’ Aide, YPD, the Sr. Choir, and the Ministers Wives’ Association.
Surviving are her husband, The Reverend Lonzo Ruff; son, Del (Jamel) Ruff; grandchildren, Jyles, Kennedy and Rachel; her parents, George and Bertha A. Gilmore; two brothers, George Jr. and Anthony Gilmore; two sisters, Agnes Ruff and Robin Hampton; a host of nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters-in-law, church family and friends.

Mary Lynch
LAKE CITY — Mrs. Mary Frances Webster Lynch, 96, widow of William S. “Willie” Lynch, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 after an illness.
Mrs. Lynch was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late William Albert and Angie Kirby Webster. She was a homemaker and member of Lake City First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, William S. “Billy” (Margaret) Lynch, III of Lake City and James Carlisle “Jimmie” (Jackie) Lynch, Sr., of Lake City; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 11, 2004 in Lake City Cemetery.

The family will have visitation at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
