NEWBERRY — Services for Elsie Davenport Heller will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church, 1105 First Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Mrs. Heller, 71, widow of G. William Heller, Jr., died December 27, 2004. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late William Leo and Lola Rebecca Hendrix Davenport. She had retired from Heller’s Grocery, was a member of the Eastern Star and the Dave Waldrop Center. Mrs. Heller was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Millie Hamby Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Frankie Wicker of Newberry; sisters, Katherine (W.C.) White, Ida Underwood and Winnie (Billy) Senn, all of Newberry and Joan (Bill) Coats of Ninety Six; a brother, Ronny (Donna) Davenport of Newberry; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

MANNING — A memorial service for Jorene Wellman Garrison, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stephens Funeral Home; visitation to follow. Born in Graham, Texas , to Jesse and Velma Mae Stockton Wellman, she died Dec. 27, 2004. She was a member of Carteret UM Church. Paul Johnson
COLUMBIA — Funeral service for Mr. Paul Johnson, 68, of Columbia, will be held Noon Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, officiated by The Reverend Paul Monroe. Entombment will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock this (Wednesday) evening in the funeral home. Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Born in Conway, SC, he was a son of the late Flemon and Viola Cribb Johnson. He was employed with Richland Wholesale and Southern Wines & Spirits. Mr. Johnson attended Capital City Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Pauline Coats Johnson of Columbia; sons, Terry Mitchell Johnson of Columbia and Larry Thomas Johnson and his wife Donna of Old Fort, TN; daughter, Janice McPherson and husband Larry of Irmo; grandchildren, Curtis Stokes, Jake Johnson and wife Frances, Jesse Johnson, David Paul Johnson, Amanda Wilson and husband Jay, Virginia McPherson, Larry McPherson, Jr., and Lois McPherson; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, James Johnson and his wife Shirley of West Columbia; sisters, Diane Smallwood, Ruth Inman, Bertha Jones, Georgia Mae Johnson and Effie Johnson all of Conway, SC. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister and 3 brothers.
Robert Kelly Sr.
GREENVILLE — Funeral service for Mr. Robert Henry Kelly, Sr., 86, of Greenville, will be held 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2004, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, officiated by The Reverend Michael L. Townsend. Interment will follow in Kelly Cemetery, Kathwood Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Mr. Kelly died Monday, December 27, 2004. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late James H. and Mattie Augustine Kelly. Mr. Kelly was raised in Columbia and then moved to Greenville in 1972. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Columbia. Mr. Kelly was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII; he was a Master Mason and a member of Hejaz Shrine.
Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Brickle Kelly of Greenville, son, Robert Henry Kelly, Jr., and his wife Debra of Prosperity; daughters, Linda Kelly Cole and her husband Thomas C. of Blythewood and Barbara Kelly French and her husband Jim of Simpsonville, SC; brother, Edward Kelly and his wife Nadine of Blythewood; 7 grandchildren, Cindy Bell, Nancy Watkins, Bryan Cole, Darrell Cole, Danielle Kelly, Robert H. Kelly, III, and Jason Cain; 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by a sister, Coley Hubbs and brothers, Clyde Kelly, Deal Kelly and Theodore Benjamin Kelly.
