BALTIMORE - Mrs. Susie J. Taylor, 56, of 2 Serpens Court, formerly of Edgemoor, died Friday, Dec. 31,1999.

The wake will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at March Funeral Home West, 4300 Wabash Ave., Baltimore. The funeral will be noon Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, Md.

A native of Edgemoor, Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Samuel Massey and Nanney Welch. She was a nurse at the Spring Grove State Hospital in Maryland.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Taylor Jr.; her son, Blair Taylor; her daughter, Grier Taylor; two brothers, Gussie Crome and Alonzo Massey; two sisters, Loreatha Williams and Patricia Hemphill; and her granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Beverly Tignor

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. -"Mrs. Beverly Hughes Tignor, 44, of 2137 Brookforest Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., Mrs. Tignor was a daughter of the late Jerrell H. and Shirley Louise Payne Hughes. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Grover, N.C., and was a former secretary at Champion Construction in Kings Mountain.

Surviving are her husband, Mike Tignor; her son, Jason Tignor of Kings Mountain; her daughter, Sarah Beth Tignor of Wilmington, N.C.; her stepmother, Betty Hughes of Kings Mountain; and her sister, Cindy Meek of Smyrna.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain.

Mary Walters

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Brooks Walters, 87, of 217 Westerwood Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000 at her home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Terry L. Coder officiating.

A native of Damascus, Va., Mrs. Walters was a homemaker and was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church. She was the widow of D.V. Walters.

Surviving are her son, David Walters of Rock Hill; two brothers, Conley Brooks of Rock Hill and William J. Brooks of Sharon; two sisters, Maxine Davis and Elaine Smith, both of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at the home of her son, David Walters, 223 Westerwood Drive in Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Road in Rock Hill.

Keith Allman

GAFFNEY - Mr. Keith Allman, 18, of 204 Rodgers St. died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The funeral will be Friday at Lanford Pollard Funeral home in Spartanburg, with the Rev. Jerry Bowers officiating.

Surviving are his mother, Janet Waddell; his stepfather, Ricky Bell; three sisters, Karen Allman of Spartanburg, Karie Allman of Lily, Ky., and Kelly Allman of the home; his maternal grandmother, Alice Bowers of York; his stepgrandfather, the Rev. Jerry Bowers of York; and his great-grandmother, Sadie Ryan of Fall River, Mass.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Lanford Pollard Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

James Archer Jr.

CHARLOTTE - Mr. James David Archer Jr., 42, died Dec. 31, 1999.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Goshen Freewill Baptist Church, in Mount Holly, N.C. Burial will be private.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Archer is a son of the late James D. Archer Sr. and Mary M. Grier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.

Surviving are his son, Marcus Stephen Archer of Mount Holly;

and two sisters, Robin Summey of Charleston and Teresa Yochem of Rock Hill.

Heritage Funeral Home in Matthews, N.C., is in charge.

Hilda Berg

ROCK HILL - Miss Hilda Berg, 90, of 127 Murrah Drive died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Laurelwood Cemetery. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Miss Berg was a daughter of the late Isadore Wollenberg and Frieda Silverberg Wollenberg. She was teacher of corrective physical education in her hometown. In 1938, she came to Rock Hill and for many years resided on Sumter Avenue with John and Erna Schwarz, her sister. For more than 40 years, she was a Fuller Brush sales representative and known locally as the "Fuller Brush Lady." During her affiliation with the company, she received numerous honors and achievements awards.

Surviving are her niece, Ursula Schwarz Hilborn of Schenectady, N.Y.; two grandnieces; her grandnephew; and four great-grandnephews.

The family will receive friends at Laurelwood Cemetery after the memorial service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Nancy Boatwright

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Lynn Boatwright, 75, of 2790 Dogwood Circle died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Boatwright was a daughter of the late Joseph R. Lynn and Ella Jordan Lynn. A homemaker, she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Cecil Boatwright; two daughters, Cecilia Strickland of Rock Hill and Jeannie Adams of York; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Cecilia Strickland, 1248 Quiet Acres Drive, Rock Hill.

FORT MILL - Mr. Thomas Floyd "Buster" Gilmore, 35, of 500-A Steele St. died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, in Salisbury, N.C.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. today at Bethlehem Bap-tist Church, with the Rev. Carlwell Culp officiating. Burial will be Friday at the Veterans Administration Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C.

Surviving are his parents, Catherine Gilmore and William G. Gilmore Sr. of Fort Mill; two brothers, William Gilmore Jr. of Fort Mill and Henry Gilmore of Vanceboro, N.C.; and three sisters, Debra G. Mayes of Rock Hill, Shirley McAfee of Charlotte and Rosie Wiggins of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:30 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church and at other times at the home.

Lillie Hinson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lillie Belle Catledge Hinson, 86, of Jenna Lane died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Revs. Bruce Craig, Ted Tinker and Cecil Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of the late John Catledge and Nancy Lynn Catledge. She was the widow of Claude Hinson. A homemaker, she attended the Church of God of Pro-phecy.

Surviving are two daughters, Martha Steele and Mary Quinn, both of Lancaster; her brother, Johnny Catledge of Chester; two sisters, Robina Holley of Chester and Pearlie Hall of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mary Quinn, 1839 Jenna Lane.

HEATH SPRINGS - Mrs. Idell Rollins Hunter, 66, of 187 Boyd Faile Road died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Cockrell. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Hunter was a daughter of the late James Lewis Rollins and Dora McAteer Rollins. She was the widow of Marion Bruce Hunter. A homemaker, she was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Randall B. Hunter of Rock Hill; her daughter, Beverly H. Carraway of Knoxville, Tenn.; four brothers, James O. Rollins and Wesley Rollins, both of Heath Springs, Charles Rollins of Lancaster and Floyd Rollins of Juneau, Alaska; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. - Mrs. Lucy Mae Hinson Phillips, 75, of 1123 Kelly Road died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, with the Rev. Mason Bowman officiating.

A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of the late Huey Hinson and Mary Hinson.

Surviving are her husband, Thad J. Phillips; her son, Huey Patterson of Charlotte; her daughter, Patsy Smith of Portland, Ohio; and five grandchildren,

Hiram Vaughn

LANCASTER - Mr. Hiram Pascal "H.P." Vaughn, 84, of 2118 Camp Creek Road died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Muse officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Vaughn was a son of the late Robert Lee Vaughn Sr. and Lois Mobley Vaughn. He retired from Springs Industries, was a Mason and was a member of Grade Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille Neely Vaughn of the home; two sons, Randy P. Vaughn of Lancaster and Jerry W. Vaughn of Columbia; his sister, Louise Cancilla of Lancaster; and two grandsons.

Claude Wade

CHESTER - Mr. Claude Jackson Wade, 82, of 5157 Woods Ferry Road died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilksburg Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Billings and Dale Roddey officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester, Mr. Wade was a son of Paul Wade and Emma Dye Wade. He was the widower of Kathleen McNinch Wade. He was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Chester High School and a member of Sandy River Masonic Lodge No. 207.

Surviving are his son, Wayne Wade of Chester; two daughters, Claudia Lee and Glenda Jones, both of Chester; his brother, Clifton Wade of Chester; his sister, Emily Coleman of Columbia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Ida Keenan.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Rachel Wheeles

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Rachel Grubbs Wheeles, 77, of 3083 India Hook Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Verdery officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church cemetery.

A native of Fair Play, Mrs. Wheeles was a daughter of the late John W. Grubbs and Mildred Mickle Grubbs. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Rock Hill and Northwestern high schools and York Technical College. She received her master's degree from Winthrop University. She was a member of the Business Women's Club, was active in the York County Historical Society and was well-known for Wheeles Barbecue. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was an officer and an ordained elder and was active in Providence Presbytery.

Surviving are her husband, E. P. "Pete" Wheeles; two sons, E. Paul Wheeles Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Jerry Wheeles of Columbia; her daughter, Joye Carr of North Little Rock, Ark.; her sister, Barbara G. Thompson of York; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bass Funeral Home and other times at the home.
