MANNING -- Ondrea M. Richburg, 40, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at his residence, 115 Readon St. in Manning.

Born May 13, 1964, in the Summerton community of Clarendon County, he was a son of Moses and Rebecca Richburg.

The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, 5218 Wash Davis Road, Summerton.

Services will be announced by Summerton Funeral Service of Summerton.

ROBERT A. YENNY

ELLOREE -- Robert Alfred Yenny, age 63, beloved husband of 26 years to Alice Yenny, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Yenny was born in Columbia, the son of the late Homer and Alberta Yenny.

Surviving in addition to his wife of Elloree are six children; one brother, Michael Douglas Yenny of Gaston; two sisters, Brenda Needler of Gastonia, N.C., and Gayle Weissenstein and her husband, A. Paul Weissenstein Jr., of Sumter; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, David Bruce Yenny.

No local services are planned.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of TRMC, 1324 Hutto St., Orangeburg, SC 29116.

PATRICIA B. MILLER

MANNING -- Patricia Ann Bilton Miller, 65, widow of Lloyd Keith Miller, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, in Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning.

WILLARD I. TIETJEN Jr.

WEDGEFIELD -- Willard "TJ" Irving Tietjen Jr, age 62, beloved husband of Mildred Carol Carstensen, died on Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at his residence.

He was born in Columbus, Ga., a son of Anna Patricia Girton Tietjen of New Cumberland, Pa., and the late Willard Irving Tietjen Sr. He retired after 23 years of service from the U.S. Air Force as a technical sergeant and served during the Vietnam War. He later worked as an insurance salesman. He was a 32nd degree member of the Masons, the York and Scottish Rite, for more than 30 years and served as past master of the Springhill Masonic Lodge. He was a Shriner and a member of the Jamil Temple, the Gamecock Shrine Club and the Jamil Streakers. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are one daughter, Kimberly Sue Dees and her husband, Robert, of Sumter; one brother, Berndt Tietjen of Jacksonville, N.C.; one sister, Mary Ann Goodling of York, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Irving Tietjen Sr.

Funeral services will be held in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with Masonic Rites and with the Rev. Eugene T. Mosier officiating.

Burial will follow in the Florence National cemetery at 2 p.m. with full military honors.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Springhill Masonic Lodge and the Gamecock Shrine Club.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to The Shriner's Hospital "In Memory of Willard Irving Tietjen Jr.," 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.

The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.

MATTIE NELSON

LAKE CITY -- Mattie Nelson, 100, widow of Wilson Nelson, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004.

She was a daughter of the late Henry and Julia Kennedy Monroe.

Survivors include three sons, James Nelson, Hayden (Veronica) Nelson and Wilson (Bertha) Nelson; one daughter, Mattie Lea Nelson; two brothers and eight sisters, Henrietta Macky of New Jersey, Evelyn Lawson, Sepha Mae Burgess, Ella Mae Allen of Kingstree, Elizabeth Lynch, Eunice Richardson and Arthur Monroe of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rose Anderson of Clayton, N.C., Ruth Ann Clark and Jerry Monroe of New York; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Greater St. James AME Church, Moore Street, Lake City, with the Rev. Joseph Postell officiating.

Burial will be in Rest Lawn cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 110 Buff Road, Lake City.

Green's Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

ELAINE H. LOWDER

ST. MATTHEWS -- Mrs. Elaine Holstad Lowder, 54, of 1405 Bridge St., St. Matthews, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas B. Huggins officiating.

Mrs. Lowder was born in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of the late Delmar E. and Marion Kever Holstad. She was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and the University of South Carolina. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a licensed Realtor.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn T. Lowder of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jim LaChance of St. Matthews; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Amy Lowder of St. Matthews; four grandsons, Adam Lowder and Heath, Craig and Brent LaChance, all of St. Matthews; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Venis Holstad of Cameron and Doug and Julie Holstad of Birmingham, Ala.; sister-in-law, Susie L. Boykin of St. Matthews; four nephews, Chris and Jewell Holstad of Orangeburg, Brian and Cassie Holstad of Celina, Ohio, Hunter Holstad and Clay Holstad, both of Birmingham, Ala.; a niece, Ann Marie Holstad of Thomasville, N.C.; a special aunt and cousin, Arlene Fries and Boni Jo Wheeler, both of Summerville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 348, St. Matthews, SC 29135 or to a church of one's choice.

DAVID LYNN PHILLIPS

David Lynn Phillips, 41, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004.

Born in Reidsville, N.C., he was the son of Robert Phillips and Rachel S. Geddings. He was employed by Sumter Metals and was a former volunteer firefighter with Oswego Station 14.

Survivors include his father of Portsmouth, Va.; his mother and stepfather, Larry Geddings of Sumter; a daughter, Heather Phillips of Dalzell; two brothers, Danny Phillips of Bishopville and Buck Ray of Columbia; two sisters, Deborah Lumley of Dalzell and Tammy Stevens of Sumter; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Numa and Elizabeth Strader of Ruffin, N.C.; his girlfriend, Katana White of Dalzell; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bowers officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in Oswego.

Friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 4050 Nazarene Church Road.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.

AZALEE B. HILTON

TAMPA, Fla. -- Azalee Brunson Hilton, 77, widow of Issac "Ike" Hilton, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at the residence of her nephew, James and Lillian Brunson, 303 E. Frances Ave., Tampa, Fla.

Born in Sumter County, on Aug. 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Rainey Brunson Sr. and Victoria Gordon Brunson. She received her formal education in the public schools of Sumter and Clarendon counties. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she was the church clerk for 30 years, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the senior choir, Missionary Society and the first president of the Pastor's Aide Committee. She was retired from C.E. Eden, where she cared for many generations of the Eden family.

Survivors include one nephew, Deacon James O. Brunson and wife, Minister Lillian C. Brunson, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Essie Mae (Pete) Woods of Sumter; two nieces, Beverly Brunson of Tampa, Fla., and Nancy Lemon of Manning; two sisters-in-law, Anna Liza Hilton and Clara Peterson, both of Manning; three devoted friends, Dorothy Blanding, Lucinda Epps and Sally Mouzon, all of Manning; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

A wake service will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fellowship Baptist Church, 705 W. Huggins St., Manning, with the Rev. Jonathan Anderson, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sylvester Hicks. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Floral bearers will be nieces.

The family will receive friends at her residence, 601 Peterson Lane, Manning.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning is in charge of arrangements.

WILLETTE GREEN WHITE

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Willette Green White, 58, wife of Lawrence Larry White of New York, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn.

Born Dec. 8, 1946, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of Carrie Doughty Green and the late Junious Green. In her youth, Willette was a member of Liberty Hill AME Church. In 1964, after graduating from Scott's Branch High School in Summerton, Willette moved to Baltimore, Md., and later moved to Brooklyn, where she joined New Covenant Church of Christ Disciples of Christ under the direction of Pastor James R. Ray. After fulfilling her godly commitment at New Covenant, she became a member of Greater Bible Way Church under the direction of Bishop Hugh Rogers. Willette was formerly employed by the United States Postal Service.

Willette was blessed with many gifts from God. One of her most loved talents was singing graceful vision from God. She loved to sing. She always went the extra mile with unconditional love to help others.

Survivors besides her husband include two sons, Todd (Pearline) White of Louisburg, N.C., and Kareem (Nicole) White of Brooklyn; two daughters, Jasmine White of Brooklyn and Cheryl Malone of Manning; a goddaughter, Stacey Mills; two brothers, Joenathan Green of Summerton and James (Maggie) Green of Richmond, Va.; six sisters, Mamie (Ray) Green Archer, Mattie (Clarence) Simms, both of Brooklyn, Julia (Jackie) Oliver of Columbia, Beatrice (Joe) House and Dorothy House, both of Summerton, and Berna Tina Green of Sumter; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Liberty Hill AME Church, Liberty Hill Road, Summerton, with the Rev. Melvin J. Capers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The casket will be placed in the church at noon.

The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Carrie Doughty Green, 2105 Cypress Drive, Summerton.

King Funeral Home of Summerton is in charge of arrangements.

LILLIAN R. ZESTER

Lillian Ruth Zester, age 86, husband of the late Norman George Zester, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Mariner Health of Sumter West.

Mrs. Zester was born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and she was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors are one son, Kenneth Martin Sawyer of Nashville, Tenn.

No local services are planned.

The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
