He was born September 27, 1953 in Lancaster County, the son of Vonnie Bowers Jenkins and the late Perry Mobley Jenkins and was the husband of Susan Steele Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins retired from Continental Tire, was a member of Lancaster Bass Masters and New Life Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his mother, Vonnie Bowers Jenkins, his wife, Susan Steele Jenkins, 2 sons; Jamie Jenkins and Eric Miller, 3 daughters; Gena Faulkenberry, Stacie Baker, and Shandy Miller Everall, 2 brothers; Donnie Jenkins and Dale Jenkins, 2 sisters; Joye Whitaker and Debbie Helms, and 21 grandchildren all of Lancaster.

The Family will hold a Memorial Service for Mr. Jenkins at 11:00 am Monday, September 26, 2011 at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Mitch Ingram.

The Family of Mr. Jenkins will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center and in lieu of flowers suggest memorials be made to Home Care / Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W. Meeting Street Suite A, Lancaster SC 29720.

Slava "Steve" Khomyak
(October 5, 1934 - September 7, 2011)
INDIAN LAND, SC - Mr. Slava “Steve” Khomyak, age 76, of 1409 Deer Forest Drive, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his home. He was born October 5, 1934 in Kiev, Ukraine, a son of the late Peter Khomyak and Katia Larionova Khomyak and was the husband of Alla Naroditsky Khomyak. Mr. Khomyak was a retired mechanical engineer, served in the Russian Army and was of the Christian Orthodox Faith. Mr. Khomyak is survived by his wife, Alla N. Khomyak of the home, a son, Sergio Khomyak and his wife Carolyn of Fort Mill, 2 daughters; Yelena K. Dorgham of Fort Mill and Irene Ebelein of Middlesex, NC, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Khomyak will be 12:00 noon, Friday, September 9, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home officiated by Father Alexander Logunov. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville, NC.

Andrew Bell
(February 8, 1943 - September 13, 2011)
HEATH SPRINGS, SC - Mr. Andrew Blease Bell, age 68, of 3643 Hoke Road, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1943 in Lancaster, a son of the late James Marion Bell and Annie Wilson Bell and was the husband of Mary Sue Horton Bell. Mr. Bell retired from General Tire, was a Shriner, a lifetime member of Jackson Lodge and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Bell of the home, a son; Scott Bell and his wife Carla of Lancaster, 2 daughters; Stacey Hilliard and her husband Joey of Heath Springs, and Susanne Lecture and her husband Michael of Cincinnati, OH; a sister; Martha Guise and her husband George of Heath Springs, and 6 grandchildren; Mitchell, Allison and Abby Bell, Hunter Hilliard and Nicholas and Samantha Lecture.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Bell will be 2:00 pm, Friday, September 16, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church by Rev. Gerald Eaves. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Bell will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions to Faith Baptist Church, 4695 JB Denton Road, Lancaster SC 29720 or Shriner’s Hospital; 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC 29605.

Betty S. Evans
(June 17, 1928 - September 11, 2011)
LANCASTER, SC - Mrs. Betty Small Evans, age 83, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at White Oak Manor. She was born June 17, 1928 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late John Walter Small and Mamie Sullivan Small and was the wife of the late John Wesley Evans, Jr. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Evans is survived by a son, Kenneth Mark Evans of Lancaster, 2 daughters; Cynthia Ann Evans Ray of Pinopolis, SC and Melinda Evans Fridley of Franklin, TN, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Evans was private and the family suggested in lieu of flowers memorials to be made to White Oak Manor, Activity Fund, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Norman Anderson, Jr.
(June 23, 1961 - August 27, 2011)
LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Norman A. Anderson, Jr., age 50, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home. He was born June 23, 1961 in Barrington, NJ, a son of the late Norman Albert Anderson, Sr. and Nancy Lee Wood Anderson and was the husband of Theresa Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a contractor and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Theresa Anderson of the home, a son, Jordan Ryan Anderson of Clinton, SC, 2 daughters, Rebecca Lee Anderson of Alta Monte Springs, FL and Nicole Anderson of the home, and a brother, Richard Allen Anderson of Myrtle Beach.

PAGELAND, SC - Mr. Roger Dale Boulware, age 62, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at his home. He was born June 30, 1949 in Camden, SC, the son of the late M.L. Boulware and Ruth Stevens Boulware and was the husband of Paula Willis Boulware. Mr. Boulware retired from Springs Industries and was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Boulware is survived by his wife, Paula W. Boulware of the home, a daughter, Amanda Boulware of Lancaster, 2 step daughters, Glenda Hickman and Paulette McKee both of Monroe, a brother Wayne Boulware of Monroe, a sister, Evelyn Boykin of Lancaster and 7 grandchildren.

The Family of Mr. Boulware will host a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 4, 2011 at New Life Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Doug Pate. Thomas Malcolm Corbett, Jr.
(August 16, 1926 - September 8, 2011)
FORT LAWN, SC - Mr. Thomas Malcolm Corbett, Jr., age 85, died Thursday, September 08, 2011 at his home. He was born August 16, 1926 in Kershaw County, the son of the late Thomas Malcolm Corbett, Sr. and Aretha Marshall Corbett and was the husband of Claudia Turner Corbett. Mr. Corbett retired from Springs Industries, was a member of Fort Lawn United Methodist Church and served our great country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Corbett is survived by his wife of 63 years, Claudia Turner Corbett of the home, 2 sons, Mickey Corbett of Pickens, SC and Tommy Corbett and his wife Joanne of Charlotte, NC; a brother Jack Corbett of Camden, 2 sisters; Ethylene Christmas of Camden and Joyce C. McKenzie of Los Angeles, CA; 4 grandchildren; Christi Leigh Corbett, Morgan Corbett, Turner Corbett and Cameron Corbett and a great grandson, Grayson Taylor Broome.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Corbett will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Fort Lawn United Methodist Church by Rev. Glenn Ribelin. Burial will follow at Elmwood cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Corbett will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the church and the family suggests memorials be made to Fort Lawn United Methodist Church.

Seth Muennich
(Died September 29, 2011)
LANCASTER, SC - Seth Austin Muennich, age 14, of 3344 Greystone Drive, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born June 13, 1997 Mecklenburg County, a son of Kenneth E. Muennich and Lisa Mungo Muennich. Seth was a freshman honor student at Buford High School, a Boy Scout with Troop #69, a Junior Scholar, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He loved sports having played JV football for Buford and recreational baseball and was a very active member of Unity ARP Church and YPC youth group. Seth is survived by his parents; Ken and Lisa Muennich of the home, a brother, Tanner Muennich, maternal grandparents; George B. and Doris Mungo of Lancaster, a special cousin he considered a sister, Katelyn Wrobel of Lancaster, Aunts and Uncles; Curtis and Patty Wrobel of Lancaster, Darren and Carolyn Mungo of Greer, Greg and Vicki Muennich, Doug and Laura Muennich and Diane Muennich all of Mason, OH, and 8 cousins; Elizabeth Mungo, Bobby Muennich, Clinton Muennich, Natalie Townsend, Ben Muennich, Sahara Sutts, Dylan Sutts, and Casandra Sutts.

Seth was preceded in death by a cousin; Cody Muennich.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Seth will be 4:00 pm, Monday, October 3, 2011 at Unity ARP Church by Rev. Charles Hammond. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family will receive friends at the home and a Celebration of his Life will follow after the funeral in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Unity ARP Church – Thanksgiving Meals, Buford High School Athletic Department or Operation Christmas Child.

Kyle Wagner
(April 16, 1967 - September 30, 2011)
INDIAN LAND, SC - Mr. Kyle Richard Wagner, age 44, of 4068 Brookchase Blvd., died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. He was born April 16, 1967 in Long Branch, NJ; the son of Sandra Bartek Wagner and the late Kenneth Wagner and was the husband of Debbie Szeligowski Wagner. Mr. Wagner was a Supervisor with Lancaster County Parks & Rec. Dept and coached for recreational sports. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, Debbie S. Wagner of the home, 2 sons; Conor and Patrick Wagner; his mother, Sandra B. Wagner of Indian Land, 2 brothers; Kevin Wagner of Indian Land, and Kenny Wagner of Long Branch, NJ; 4 sisters; Dawn Wagner of Indian Land, Carolyn Zuidema of Long Branch, NJ, Paula Wagner of Boca Raton, FL, and Sandy King of Oceanport, NJ and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wagner was preceded by a sister; Karen Gizzi.

The Celebration of Life Mass for Mr. Wagner will be 5:00 pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill officiated by Father John Giuliani.

The Family of Mr. Wagner will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent to Founders Federal Credit Union – Trust Fund for Conor and Patrick Wagner.

Owen Parnell
(July 18, 1921 - September 26, 2011)
LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Owen L. Parnell, age 90, of 2330 Watts Drive, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born July 18, 1921 in Lancaster County, a son of the late Benjamin Walker Parnell and Lillie Haile Parnell and was the husband of the late Arline Weaver Parnell. Mr. Parnell retired from Joselyn Clark Control and served our great county in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Parnell is survived by 2 sons; Mike Parnell and his wife Wanda of Augusta, GA and Rick Parnell of Rock Hill, a daughter, Judith D. Vincent and her husband Ray of Lancaster, a sister; Mary Vick of Rock Hill, 2 grandchildren; Scott Parnell and Ashley Parnell, and 3 great grandchildren; Neal and Garrett Faulkenberry and Ayden Parnell.

Mr. Parnell was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Cecil Parnell and John Parnell and a granddaughter; Lisa Parnell Faulkenberry.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Parnell will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Gerald Starnes. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Bazel B. Kelly
(June 18, 1967 - September 30, 2011)
LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Bazel B. Kelly, age 94, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at his home. He was born June 18, 1917 in Chesterfield County.

Mr. Kelly was loved by family and friends.

A Private Graveside Funeral will be held for Mr. Kelly.

Rose Jacobs
(September 21, 1912 - October 6, 2011)
INDIAN LAND, SC - Mrs. Rose Mary Jacobs, age 99, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Magnolia Manor. She was born September 21, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of the late Charles Nasso and Frances Santarpia Nasso and was the wife of the late Elmer Jacobs. Mrs. Jacobs was a retired telephone operator and of the Roman Catholic Faith.

Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her son, John Michael Jacobs of WA, her daughter; Joan Tenney and her husband Denver of Indian Land, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Lester F. Hancock, age 85, of 1307 University Drive, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center. He was born December 13, 1925 in Mt. Croghan, the son of the late Robert Lester Hancock and Daisy Rollins Hancock. Mr. Hancock retired from Springs Industries and served our great country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Hancock is survived by his daughter, Sharon Sims and her husband Mike of Lancaster; 4 sisters, Kathleen Baker and Dorothy Gulledge both Kannapolis, NC, Myrtle Jordan of Mt. Croghan and Billie Jean Knight of Pageland, and a granddaughter, Brandie Sims.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hancock will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

LANCASTER, SC - Mrs. Lottie Manus Harmon, age 90, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at CMC – Pineville. She was born January 2, 1921 in Union County, NC the daughter of the late William Arthur Manus and Amanda Helms Manus and was the wife of the late Clayton Hutchison Harmon. Mrs. Harmon retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Heath Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Harmon is survived by a son; Sam Harmon and his wife Laura of Lancaster, 2 daughters; Betty H. Spinks of Fort Mill and Carolyn H. Palmer of Fort Mill, 4 sisters; Ollie Cannon of Greenville, SC, Winnie Bagwell of Davidson, NC, Wilma Ledford of Bessemer City, NC and Martha Bigham of Waxhaw, NC; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Harmon was preceded by a daughter, Helen Elizabeth Harmon.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Harmon will be 2:00 Thursday, October 6, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. John Rouvier and Rev. Marilyn Wooten. Burial will follow at Heath Memorial United Methodist Church cemetery.

LANCASTER, SC - Mrs. Ruth Singleton Clyburn, age 72, of 1114 W. Meadow Drive, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital . She was born June 5, 1939 in Westminister, SC, the daughter of the late Clifton O’Neil Singleton and Lexie Dyar Singleton and was the wife of Henry Maxwell “Max” Clyburn. Mrs. Clyburn earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Winthrop University, taught History and Social Studies in the Lancaster County School System for 30 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Clyburn is survived by her husband, Max Clyburn of the home, a son, Bob Clyburn and his wife Mary of Ashburn, VA, 2 sisters, Gail Singleton Reynolds of Charlotte and Sue Singleton Bloxom and her husband Sonny of Smithfield, VA, and 3 grandchildren, Grayson, Evie and Hayes Clyburn.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Clyburn will be 2:30 Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Shane Owens, Rev. Sam Thomas, and Rev. Tim Sherriff. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Clyburn will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:15 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the church fellowship hall and the family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 990, Lancaster SC 29721.
