Funeral services for Bonnie Lynch Carter, 81, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott Petry officiated, with burial in the church cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter, widow of Heyward Carter, died Sunday, July 23. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Caddell Lynch. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was retired from Sonoco Products Co.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Pat Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Don Melton, all of Hartsville; sister, Beady Mae Sowell of Hartsville; sisters-in-law, Edna Lynch of Hartsville, Jane Ham of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Pam Tarlton, Lee Gainey, Angie Holland, Donna Kay Lewis, Kellie Howle, Michael Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Carter; brothers, James Lynch, Billy Lynch, Jennings Lynch; sister, Mary Outlaw.

EDWARD ROBINSON
Edward Robinson, 77, died Monday, July 24, at Morrell Nursing Center after an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.

DAISY B. SELLERS
CHESTERFIELD - Funeral services for Daisy Bryte Rivers Sellers, 79, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Hopewell Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sellers died Friday, July 21. She was born in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Jessie Stevenson and Ola Gulledge Rivers. She was a retired seamstress with Chesterfield Manufacturing. Mrs. Sellers was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she served as memorial clerk and VBS worker, and was a member of the Senior Citizens, WMU, and the Annie S. Circle. Mrs. Sellers enjoyed visiting and sharing her blueberry muffins with the nursing home patients and the shut-ins. She was married to the late Fincher N. Sellers and was also preceded in death by her sister, Sybil Gainey.

Survivors are a son, Richard N. (Peggy) Sellers of Marietta, Ga.; daughter, Gaye (David) Lamson of Chesterfield; two brothers, Jerry Faye (Frances) Rivers of Hartsville and James C. (Barbara) Rivers of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren, Loren (Jennifer) Lamson, David (Danielle) Lamson, Daniel (Tammy) Lamson, Christine Sellers, John Sellers, Mike Sellers and Matthew Sellers; and four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Allison, Cameron and Casey Lamson.

KATE S. KELLEY
CAMDEN - A memorial service for Kate Sullivan Kelley, 81, was held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Hancock and Chaplain Mark Bredholt, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McBee Rescue Squad, 76 S. Sixth Street, McBee, SC 29101, Arthritis Foundation, Carolinas Chapter, 200 E. Woodlawn Rd., Suite 156, Charlotte, NC 28217, or a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Kelley, widow of the late William M. Kelley, died Saturday, July 22. Born in McBee, she was the daughter of the late Ernest G. Sr. and Jettie Blackwell Sullivan. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of Wateree Baptist Church and had been actively involved in the WMU of both churches.

Surviving are daughters, Pamela K. Parker and her husband, Bob, of Anderson, Jo Kelley and her husband, Drew Shane of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Kim E. Kelley of Washington, D.C., and Jill Kelley Morris of Camden; grandchildren, Katie P. Lewis, Timothy K. Parker, Fran P. Young, Bill Parker, Beth P. Blansett, Ben Parker, Kelley E. Morris, Mamie C. Morris, William Rush Morris, Elizabeth Yi Mei Shape and great grandchildren; brothers, Ernest G. Sullivan and his wife, Mildred, Grady Sullivan and his wife, Brenda, both of Hartsville, and Roy W. Sullivan and his wife, Mary, of Lugoff; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant son, infant brother, Jimmy Sullivan, and a sister, Betty Middleton.

ROBERT H. McKINNON JR.
BETHUNE - Funeral services for Robert H. McKinnon Jr., 61, who died July 22, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Norton Funeral Home Chapel, Hartsville, with the Revs. Jimmy Holley and Jeff Gardner officiate. Burial followed in Turkey Creek cemetery.

Mr. McKinnon was born in Bethune, a son of Dolly DeWitt McKinnon and the late Robert H. McKinnon Sr. He was retired from Sonoco Products Co. after 40 years of service and a member of the Old Timers Club. Surviving are his wife, Judy Ann Morrison McKinnon of Bethune; son, Robert Brian McKinnon of Bethune; his mother of Bethune; brother, Tommy McKinnon of Bethune; sisters, Linda Davis of Darlington, Ann Houck of Bethune.

NEECY RHODES
Funeral services for Neecy Rhodes will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. The burial will follow in the Greenlawn cemetery, directed by Hines Funeral Home Inc. of Hartsville with the Rev. Alphonso Toomer officiating the service.

Ms. Rhodes was born July 8, 1960, in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Janie Jackson and Steve Rhodes. She was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. She was a fun loving person and very humorous and loved being around her family and friends. Ms. Rhodes was an outspoken person but willing to help if she was able.

Surviving to cherish the loving memory of Neecy Rhodes include two sons, Rondell Ratliff and Jessie Ratliff, both of Hartsville; two daughters, Kimberly Ratliff and Jessica Mitchell, both of Hartsville; eight sisters, Tammy (Robert) Nettles, Debra Jackson, Wanda (Elijah) Hicks, Dale (James) Brooks, Joyce Robinson and Patsy Smith, all of Hartsville, and Almeta Jackson and Kaylor (James) Bowles, both of New York; three brothers, Terry Rhodes of Hartsville; Sylvester Jackson of Cheraw; and Roosevelt (Cynthia) Robinson of Rochester, N.Y.; her aunt, Margaret Benjamin of Darlington; her uncle, Willie (Eunice) Jackson of Hartsville; three grandchildren, Ryheem Jenkins, Rondell Davis, and Shada Jenkins of Hartsville; two special nieces Evelyn Jackson and Tasha (Shelton) Sutton of Hartsville; special nephew Troy Jackson of Hartsville; and a host of other nieces and nephews, other relatives and very dear friends.

WILLIE MAE DRIGGERS
Funeral services for Willie Mae Driggers, 94, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, July 28, 2006, at First Baptist Church, to be officiated by former pastor and friend, Dr. Aubrey Floyd, and by associate pastor and friend, the Rev. Charles Roberts. Burial will follow at Magnolia cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Driggers died Wednesday, July 26. She was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late M. L. Benson and Annie Ingram Benson. She was a life long member of the First Baptist Church and served the church for many years as Sunday school teacher in the Primary Department and as President of the Golden Fellowship. Mrs. Driggers was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Do-Si-Do Dance Club.

Mrs. Driggers was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, William Boyd Driggers Sr. The Driggers were beloved in the Hartsville community for their many years of friendly service in the management and operation of Hartsville's A&P; Grocery Store.

Surviving are two sons, Col. W.B. Driggers Jr. (USAF Ret.) and his wife, Susan O. Driggers, of Burke, Va., and Martin'S. Driggers Sr. and his wife, Nancy W. Driggers, of Hartsville; four grandsons, Scott Driggers, Trey Driggers, Martin Driggers and Benson Driggers; 10 great-grandchildren.

EDWARD ROBINSON
Graveside services for Edward Robinson, 77, will be held at 11 a.m Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Greenlawn cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.

Mr. Robinson died Monday, July 24, at Morrell Nursing Center after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Sherman and Elease Jacobs Robinson. He received his education in the public schools in the area and joined Centerville A.M.E. Church at an early age.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Robinson of North Carolina; four sisters, Evelyn Thomas and Ruth Waters, both of Hartsville, Mildred Jackson of Florence and Catherine Flinister of Columbia, Md.; two brothers, Bonnie (Lizzie) Robinson of Baltimore, Md., and Alex (Anna) Robinson of Tocoma, Wash.; sister-in-law, Jean Toney of Baltimore, Md.; several nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.

GEORGE 'G.T.' HICKS
TIMBERLAKE, N.C. - Funeral services for George Thomas 'G.T' 'Tommy' Hicks, 64, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Somerset Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Person Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Somerset Baptist Church.

Mr. Hicks, of River Oaks Parkway, died Wednesday, July 26, at his home. Born in Hampton County, Va., and raised in Buckroe Beach, Va., he was the son of the late Wilmer Russell Hicks and Lillian Gertrude Hayes Mulqueen. Mr. Hicks retired from Progress Energy and served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. He was a member of Somerset Baptist Church.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Mozell 'Mo' Hicks; three children, Teresa H. Fox of Roxboro, N.C., John Thomas 'Butch' Hicks, of McBee, and Amber H. Blackman of Erwin N.C.; one brother, James W. Hicks, of Newport News, Va.; six grandchildren, Justin T. Hicks, Cory Hicks, Austin Blackman, Carrie Fox, Colby Blackman and Clay Fox.

ALVIN BOYKIN
CAMDEN - Funeral services for William Alvin Boykin, 50, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at 4 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, Bethune, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Holland will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Cassatt Fire Department, Cassatt, SC 29032.

Mr. Boykin died Sunday, July 30. Born in Bishopville, he was the son of the late Liston and Ida Mae Rogers Boykin. He had retired from DeRoyal Textiles and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Boykin was also a member of Cassatt Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa Lambert Boykin; sons, Alvin Boykin Jr. and Trent Boykin, both of Conway; daughter, Tracy Barnes (Michael) of Columbia; step-son, Brandon Caulder of the home; sisters, Paulette Hall of Hartsville, Peggy Johnson of Hartsville, and Alice Gardner of McBee; brothers, Leslie 'Joe' Boykin of Cassatt, John Richard Boykin of Darlington and Billy Boykin of Hartsville.

MARY ELLEN COPELAND
SUMTER - Funeral services for Mary Ellen Mozingo Copeland, 91, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2006, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Revs. Warren and Carol Copeland officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Copeland, widow of Heyward W. Copeland, formerly of Sumter, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 27, at Trident Hospital in North Charleston after a brief illness. Born June 26, 1915, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. W. A. Mozingo Sr. and Edgie Nora Weatherly Mozingo of Bishopville.

She is survived by her children, Lib Sparrow of Hartsville, the Rev. Warren (Virginia) Copeland of Catlett, Va., the Rev. Carol (Evy) Copeland of Elko Nev., Beverly Peake of Goose Creek, Earl (Linda) Copeland of Hanahan, Jeannette (Jack) Walton of Liberty, Tommy (Linda) Copeland of Cayce; brothers, W. A. (Clara) Mozingo Jr. of Wisacky, Sidney (Jessie) Mozingo of Sumter; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Wiley Franklin Copeland, and siblings, Ansel Mozingo, Rosa Lee M. Shirley, Cecil M. Heustess, Charles Mozingo, Willie M. Manship and James Mozingo.

MARION T. WRIGHT
A funeral service for Marion Humphries Thomas Wright, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 2, 2006, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Hartsville, with interment following in Magnolia cemetery. A reception for family and friends to celebrate her life will follow the internment in the church Parish Hall.

Mrs. Wright, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Hartsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side early Sunday, July 30, in Virginia Beach at her son's home. She was born in Hartsville on May 5, 1923, to the late George Hampton and Belle Dunlap Thomas.

Marion graduated from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro with a degree in Textile Design. She was married to the late Marion Earl Wright. She was a member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Hartsville, where she served on the Alter Guild and was a member of the Daughters of the King. Marion was a long-time member of The Thursday Study Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Marion was an accomplished artist and musician. She loved the water, playing bridge and led an active civic and social life. She also loved Kanuga, an Episcopal retreat at which she was a counselor in her youth and found great joy in her later life, eventually becoming a member of the Board of Visitors.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Thomas Goodwin of Hartsville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, William C. Wright II and George T. Wright of Greenville, James P. and Julie Wright of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Elisabeth, Sandy, Liam, James, Daisy and Sean; one great-grandchild, Blake.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 103 Campus Drive, Hartsville, SC 29550.

The family would like to thank all of Marion's friends for their cards, letters and phone calls during her stay in Virginia and also her 'first' daughter-in-law, McGregor Caldwell, for her faithful support and many phone calls to Marion over the past 25 years.

KATHRYN W. GAINEY
Funeral services for Kathryn Walters Gainey, 48, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 2, 2006, at Fourth Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Epperly will officiate with burial in Gainey Family cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fourth Street Baptist Church, 501 S. Fourth St., Hartsville, SC 29550.

Mrs. Gainey died Sunday, July 30, 2006. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Gene and Anne Parke Walters. She was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Harry Lee Gainey of Hartsville; daughters, Susie Gainey, Charlie Poston, Missy Gainey, Nicky Edwards, all of Hartsville; sons, Doug Hall, Robbie Hall and Alfred G. O'Neal, all of Hartsville, and Eddie Gainey of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister; three brothers; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

WILLAH MAE BELL
Funeral services for Willah Mae Kirby Bell, 87, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 2, 2006, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Roberts will officiate with burial in Mt. Elon Baptist Church cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 104 E. Home Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550.

Mrs. Bell, widow of Thomas James Bell Sr. died Monday, July 31. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Tilton and Nettie Cox Kirby. After her marriage, she continued her education at Coker College becoming its first married graduate in 1939. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir, Margaret Timmerman Circle, Deborah Sunday School Class and many other organizations. She was a member of the Civinette Club for many years. She was employed with the Darlington County school system as a permanent substitute teacher and was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. T. James and Nancy Bell of Hartsville, Allen Ray and Jane Bell of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters and son-in-law, Ann Meares of Hartsville, Catherine and Dennis Williams of Burlington, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Mary Pendarvis Kirby, Dot Altman, Annie Rue Denny; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Daniel and Anne Kirby; grandchildren and spouses, Tom Meares, Brian and Monica Meares, James Bell, Elizabeth and Terry Quinn, Andrea and Derek Trader, Katie and David Free, Amanda Williams, Jason Bell, Rachel Bell; great-grandchildren, Dylan Meares, Logan Meares, Madeline Meares, Manning Meares, Abby Trader, Mia Trader, Matthew Quinn, Lauren Free; many nieces and nephews.

TOMMY FRASER
Graveside services for Tommy Fraser, 57, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug., 2, 2006, from Darlington Memory Gardens cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home.

Mr. Fraser, who died July 30, was born in Sumter, the son of the late William Washington Fraser Sr. and Mary Billups Fraser. He worked as a machinist for Sonoco Products Company for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Sandy) Huggins Fraser, Hartsville; sons, Tony Fraser, Woodridge, Va., Monty Fraser and Ryan Fraser, both of Hartsville; brothers, Will Fraser, Howard Fraser, Hugh Fraser, all of Sumter; sisters, Mary Payne of Jacksonville, N.C., and Pat Spencer of Sumter. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 181 E. Evans St., Florence, SC 29506.
