Vernetta Green

Vernetta Green, 56, of 685 Highway 15 South, St. George, died October 25, 2007, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be announced by Stevens Funeral Home of St. George.

Friends may call at the residence or at Stevens Funeral Home.

Fred Fogle Jr.

Funeral services for Fred Fogle Jr., 59, of 508 North Pine Street, Anchorage, Alaska, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2007, in the Glover's Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Leonard Huggins officiating. Burial will be in the Florence National Cemetery in Florence.

Mr. Fogle died October 11, after a brief illness at the Veteran Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

He was born September 2, 1948, in Branchville, to the late Freddie Fogle and the late Maggie Garvin Fogle. He was a graduate of Lockett High School in Branchville. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Della Davis Fogle and to this union one daughter was born, Tawana Fogle Bellamy. He was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church. Later he joined Leake Temple AME Zion Church, Anchorage, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Fogle and Willie C. Fogle.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Della Fogle of Alaska; one daughter, Tawana Fogle Bellamy of Seattle, Washington; one son, Theron Truewell of Orangeburg; five sisters, Alice F. (Moses) Moultrie of Sumter, Liile Ruth (A. Joseph) Davis of Reevesville, Emma Mae (Ellis) Wilson of Branchville, Mary F. (Samuel) Scott of Branchville, Rose (Rascoe) Walley of Eutawville; one brother, Earl (Jestine) Fogle of Rowesville; three sisters-in-law; one uncle, Reverend Charlie (Dorothy) Fogle of Savannah, Ga.; three aunts, Minnie Williams of Philadelphia, Pa., Francenia, Malqueen Goldsmith of New York; two goddaughters, Pam and Alexis and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Emma F. Wilson, 137 Radius Court, Branchville, and Mrs. Mary F. Scott, 133 Radius Court, Branchville, and at Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Carolyn Griffin Friar Dantzler

Carolyn Griffin Friar Dantzler, 64, formerly of Eutawville, widow of Daniel W. Dantzler Jr. died Friday, October 26, 2007, in Summerville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, in the Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel, with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston.

Ms. Dantzler was born February 26, 1943, in St. George, a daughter of the late Robert B. Griffin and the late Louise Horton Griffin. She was employed in the mortgage banking industry for 19 years and later in the insurance industry as an adjuster/appraiser for 16 years having retired in 2005. She was a past president of ABWA, a former member of the 100 Club of Charleston and a member of Pierpoint Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Todd Tumbleston and wife, Sandra; two daughters, Angela Faison and husband, Rob and Susan Lopez; four stepchildren, Trey Dantzler, Gina Dantzler, Lisa Duncan and Charlena Overland; two sisters, Linda Jeffcoat and Sharon Jackson; grandchildren, April, Kassandra, Justin, Cierra, Christopher, Christian, Chase, Channa, Danielle and Charrah. She was preceded in death by Robert Griffin.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwooods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, 1815 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC 29485.

Eveline (Sis) H. Dunbar

Eveline (Sis) H. Dunbar entered into rest October 26, 2007, at the Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be announced by Simmons Memorial Chapel of Elko.

Family and friends may call at the residence of her husband, 377 Mount Beulah Road, Windsor, or the Simmons Memorial Chapel of Elko (803) 266-2939.

Michael Bryan Carroll

Michael Bryan Carroll, 50, died Friday, October 26, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 29, in the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Michael was born in Columbia, July 1, 1957. He was a son of Theo Asher Carroll and Zonell Kinsey Carroll. Michael was a member of Gantt Street Baptist Church in Cayce. He attended Airport High School and loved photography, collecting Elvis Presley's memorabilia and traveling on cruises. He was an avid Mustang enthusiast and club member.

Michael is survived by his parents; brother, Wayne Carroll (Alice); nieces, Angela Livingston (Ben) and Kimberly Carroll; great-nephew, Hunter Livingston; great-niece, Ashlyn Livingston, all of Gaston and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward T. Carroll and Marie C. Carroll and Walter B. Kinsey and Essie Donald Kinsey.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 28, at the funeral home and the family will receive friends and relatives at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

Caughman-Harmon Funeral Home West Columbia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Elitea Lee Bulkley Allison

Elitea "Lee" Bulkley Allison, 94, formerly of Orangeburg, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, after a brief illness in Orange, N.J.

Her body was donated to medical science.

She is survived by her niece, Edna F. Margolin of Allentown, N.J. and her cousins, the Bythewood Family.

A memorial service will be held in Orange, N.J. at a future date.

Prince L. Myers

Funeral services for Prince L. Myers, 84, of 120 Race St., Bamberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007, in the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Bamberg. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Beaufort.

Mr. Myers died Friday, October 19, at the Augusta V.A. Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

He was born November 25, 1922, to the late William Barks and Ethel Myers in Beaufort. He attended the public schools of Beaufort County. He went on to further his education at the Eastern School of Radio and Television in New York City, where he received several ce.jpgicates in different fields. Prince served his country with honors during World War II while in the U.S. Army. He was married to the former Clamettia McMillan Myers and later to Carrie Lee Henderson Myers, both of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include five children, Freddie Myers of New York City, Trina Archie of Denmark, Annetta Mooreland of Beaufort, Stacy McMillan of New York City and Moses Myers of Bamberg; four stepchildren, Joann Snider of Orangeburg, Carl Henderson of Bamberg, Rene Moody of Bamberg and Karen Henderson of Bamberg; a special friend, Lisha Wacker of Bamberg.

The Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg will be in charge of the services.

Friends may call at the home.

Mrs. Bertha Pearline Nelson Darby

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Pearline Nelson Darby, 83, of 128 Franklin St., recently of Brooklyn, N.Y., will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007, in the Church of God Which He Hath Purchased With His Own Blood, Acts 20:28, Baxter St., Orangeburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The casket will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Mrs. Darby died Thursday, October 18, at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was born December 3, 1923, in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Moses Nelson Sr. and Bertha Stroman Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wastine Darby and children, Henry Clay Pernell, John Wesley, Helen, Kathlene, Lois and Carolyn.

Survivors include one daughter, Louise D. Oliver of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, James W. Darby, Arthur W. Darby Jr. and Ronnie G. Darby, all of Orangeburg; four grandchildren raised in the home, Kenneth B. (Essie) Darby, Luis (Tanya) Perez I, Michael A. Darby, all of Orangeburg and Marlyn (William) Westbrooks of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Moses (Rosa) Nelson Jr. of Orangeburg; three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Friends may call at Al Jenkins Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Mrs. Lumisher Goodwin Murdaugh

Mrs. Lumisher Goodwin Murdaugh, 87, of 661 Clear Pond Road, Ehrhardt, died Sunday, October 21, 2007, in Ehrhardt.

Funeral services will be announced by Cave Funeral Service Inc.

Hazel Thompson Felder -- Bowman

Hazel Thompson Felder The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service for visitation. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Thompson Felder, 93, of 1000 Live Oaks Drive, died Monday, October 22, 2007, at The Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, in the Branchville United Methodist Church in Branchville, with the Rev. Grady W. Corder and the Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in the Rigby Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Avant, Andy Gunter, Greg Gruber, Larry Stroman, Bryan F. Smith and Terry Smith.

Mrs. Felder was born January 12, 1914, in North Augusta, a daughter of the late Julia Weathers Thompson and Quinton J. Thompson. Mrs. Felder, formerly of Bowman, was a resident at The Oaks in Orangeburg. She was a member of the Branchville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia F. Smith and her husband, Dr. Edwin T. Smith of Charleston; two grandsons, Dr. E. Terry Smith Jr. and his wife, Charlotte of Marion, Bryan F. Smith and his wife, Amy of Summerville; five great-grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Natalie Smith, Edwin T. Smith III "T.J.", Weston Shea Smith and Chad Lane. She was the widow of Franklin Orville Felder, to whom she was married 56 years, and preceded in death by her sister, Olivia Rae Stroman.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the church before the service.
