RIDGE SPRING — Services for Willie T. Dennis, formerly of 3545 Columbia Highway, will be at 1 Saturday at Holy Rock Reformed Episcopal Church, Willington, conducted by Pastor Mikle Jenkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are nephews and nieces.
The family is at the home of a niece, Leila Norman, 3545 Columbia Highway, Ridge Spring.

Billy R. Fuller Sr.

COLUMBIA — Billy R. Fuller Sr., 68, husband of Elizabeth M. Deuter Fuller, passed away May 3, 2000.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late J.C. and Ellie Schmidt Fuller. He retired as an Army first sergeant, serving in Korea and Vietnam. Living in Columbia since 1971, he was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Agape Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, James Michael Fuller of Gainesville, Fla. and Steve Fuller and Billy R. Fuller Jr., both of Columbia; two daughters, Carol Ann Ballord of Gaston and Debbie Jean Rabon of Hopkins; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 Friday in Greenlawn Serenity Gardens, with full military honors.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund.

Eunice Jackson

JOHNSTON — Eunice Salter Jackson, 83, passed away May 3, 2000, at Edgefield County Hospital.
Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Herbert A. and Annie Temple Salter. She was a retired textile employee with Riegel and a member of Philippi Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, William H. “Billy” Jackson of Johnston; two daughters, Janice J. Black of Forest, Va. and Marlene J. Reese of Irmo; a sister, Doris S. Thomas of Johnston; a brother, Frank Salter of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Philippi Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Todd Knock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Jackson.
Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church Building Fund.
Bland Funeral Home is in charge.

B.B. Jennings

LEXINGTON — B.B. Dump Jennings, 90, husband of Alma Alewine Jennings, passed away May 2, 2000.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Henry and Florence Padgett Jennings. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Lexington; a son, Henry A. Jennings of West Columbia; three daughters, Mary J. Smith of West Columbia, Helen J. Hulon of Gaston and Sylvia Maroney of Batesburg; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Red Bank Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ron Smith, Brian Slyce, Rob Winchell, Brett Jennings, Tim Maroney and Thurmond Jones.
Memorials may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church Building Fund, 120 Community Drive, Lexington, S.C. 29073.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home is in charge.

Helen E. Rhodes Johnson

GREENVILLE — Helen Elizabeth Rhodes Johnson, 92, of Rolling Green Village, passed away May 3, 2000.
She was a retired beautician and a member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Meredith J. “Dick” Rhodes of Greenwood.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Craig Holbrook Parham Scholarship Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 772 Grace St., Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

Bill 'Pappy' Raines

WOODRUFF — Billy Gene “Pappy” Raines, 68, of 1635 W. Georgia Road, husband of Dorothy “Dot” Johnson Raines, passed away May 3, 2000, at Woodruff Health Care Facility.
Born in Gaffney, Cherokee County, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ruth Davenport Raines. He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany, and a retired power line electrician with Asplundh Service Co.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tony Gene Raines of Columbia, Robert Tracy Raines of Woodruff and Timothy Wayne Raines of Santee; a daughter, Dorothy Gwen Evans of Greenwood; three brothers, William Raines and Dewey Raines, both of Greenwood and Delmas Raines of Woodruff; a sister, Shirley Bright of Westminster; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 4 Friday at Lanford Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Saxon and the Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church Building Fund, 1031 W. Georgia Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.

Bill Etheridge

GREENWOOD — William Thomas “Bill” Etheridge, 86, of 251 Penn Ave., husband of Marie Ouzts Etheridge, passed away May 4, 2000, at Wesley Commons.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late David Edgar and Farra Virginia Dukes Etheridge. He was a World War II Army veteran, and he retired as a vice president of operations from Ninety Six Manufacturing Co. He was a member of Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church and a member and past president of the Greenwood Unit of TPA, serving two terms as the South Carolina director. He was also a member of American Legion Post 20, the Forty and Eight Club and Greenwood Masonic Lodge 91 AFM.
Survivors include his wife of Greenwood and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ella) McAllister and Mrs. Samuel H. (Frances) Hodges, both of Greenwood.
Services will be at 3:30 Sunday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Scott Cloninger and the Rev. John G. Hipp. Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers are Harold Hodges, Frank Eddy, Tommy Eddy, John Hammond, Larry McKellar and G.W. Cade.
Honorary escorts are the men of Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, along with Tom Stevens, Charles Freeland, Gene Pinson, John C. Young and James Rodgers.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Crosby Jay

SPARTABURG — Curtis Crosby Jay, 47, of 104 Woodruff Lane, passed away May 4, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Robert R. “Buddy” and Eliza Crosby Jay. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1971 and from Spartanburg Methodist and Lander colleges. He was employed by Milliken and Co. for many years and was currently employed by Li’L Cricket Food Systems. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and the Sigma Nu Fraternity and a keyboard player with the J-Teal Band.
Survivors include his parents of Greenwood; two sons, F. Willson{* cq *} Jay and Adam S. Jay, both of Chapin; a sister, Mrs. G. Douglas (Mary Jay) Holman of Litchfield; and a brother, Robert R. “Bob” Jay of Lake City.
Services will be at 2 Sunday at First Baptist Church of Greenwood, conducted by Dr. J. William Harris and the Rev. Julie Jay Carter. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Greenwood. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are Hank Barnette, Don Scott, Harry Blackburn, Richard Cameron, Chris Dondairlle, Pat Anderson, Bill Crosby Jr., John Crosby, Dan Crosby and Pat Kennedy.
Visitation is at the graveside after the service.
The family is at the home of his parents, 128 Sheffield Road, Greenwood.

Joe W. Russell

COMER, Ga. — Joe William Russell, 81, of 228 Herring Drive, husband of Ellen B. Russell, passed away May 3, 2000, at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
Born in Madison County, he was a son of the late Jim and Essie Lee Cooper Russell. He was a carpenter, a farmer and a member of Vineyards Creek Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. In the Army 41st Calvary during World War II, he served as a corporal technician under the command of General Patton and fought at the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Roy Russell, Tony Russell and Jody Russell, all of Comer; a daughter, Willie Mae Herring of Comer; five stepsons, Dallas B. Greer of Brunson, S.C., Frank Greer, William W. Greer and Larry E. Greer, all of Anderson, S.C., and John L. Greer of Milledgeville; a sister, Mozelle Wells of Elberton, formerly of Greenwood, S.C.; two brothers, John Russell and Tom Coile Russell, both of Comer; nine grandchildren and 16 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Vineyards Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ray Jenkins and the Rev. Glenn Guest. Burial will be in New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30.
The family is at the home.
