Justine McLendon Jr.
CLINTON — Justine “Jack” Eason McLendon Jr., 58, of 276 A-L Drive, husband of Peggy Moore, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Justine Eason McLendon Sr. and Christine McDaniel McLendon. He was an employee of Eaton Mobile Hydrolics, Greenwood and The Crossroad Store, Clinton. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Josh McLendon of Joanna; a stepson, Larry McCravey of Joanna; a daughter, Curry Leigh McLendon of Joanna; a stepdaughter, Lisa Shealy of Cross Hill; two brothers, Freddie Steven McLendon Sr. of Clinton and Teddy Lamar McLendon of Kinards; a sister, Betty McLendon Samples of Clinton; and four grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gray Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Flowers may be sent or memorials may be made to the Bus Fund at Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 796, Clinton, S.C. 29325 or Community Baptist Church, P.O. Box 942, Clinton, S.C. 29325.
The family is at the home and at the home of his sister, Betty Samples, 463 Brook Road, Clinton.

Floyd Robertson
PLUM BRANCH — Services for Floyd Robertson, of the Whitetown section of McCormick County, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Parksville, conducted by Pastor Rev. E. M. Gordon. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Cunningham, Orenthial Harper, Ronnie Simmons, Grant Stevens, Oren Robertson and Chris Harper.
Flower bearers are nieces and ushers.
The family is at the home.

Ann L. Walters
SENECA — Ann L. Erwin Walters, 46, of 339 Walters Morris Road, wife of Ken Walters, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Arah Ann Brewer Holloway and the late Truitt Laughlin.
She was an employee of Michelin Tire Corporation Sandy Springs Plant and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother of Greenwood; two daughters, Julie and Jana Erwin, both of Anderson; two stepdaughters, Chanda Erwin of Anderson and Morgan Walters of Sandy Springs; two brothers, Joe Laughlin of Anderson and Lonnie Holloway of Greenwood; and a sister, Victoria Norris of Greenwood.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at The McDougald Funeral Home. Burial is in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her sister, 131 Devore Road.

Martha Wilson
NORTH AUGUSTA — Services for Martha Ann Miller Wilson, formerly of Hodges, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, Hodges. The service will be conducted by Bishop Emmanuel Spearman and Pastor S. L. Campbell. Burial is at Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers are relatives and friends.
Flower bearers are relatives and friends.
The family is at the home of her sister, Lorraine Burt, at 140 Weimer Circle, Greenwood.
Robinson-Walker Funeral Service, Ware Shoals, is in charge.

Joseph Wingard
Joseph Theodore “Dr. Joe” Wingard, 81, resident of 837 Sunset Dr., widower of Tommie Davis Wingard, died January 25, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lexington County, September 6, 1921, he was a son of the late Herbert and Ethel Harmon Wingard. He was a graduate of Lexington High School and the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wingard founded Wingard’s Pharmacy in Greenwood in 1953.
A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Augsburg Sunday School Class, he was also a member of the JOY Group of the church. He served on the Congregation Council co-chairing the Support Committee of the council and was a member of the Centennial Anniversary Steering Committee.
Mr. Wingard was a life member of the South Carolina Pharmaceutical Association and was a member and past president of the Greenwood Gamecock Club.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Ted and wife Gaile Wingard of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas D. and wife Gloria Wingard of Greenwood; two brothers, Judson Wingard and Richard Wingard, both of Lexington.
Other survivors include grandchildren, Joseph T. III and wife Pam Wingard of Charlotte, NC, David and wife Heather Wingard of Jacksonville, FL, Katherine Wingard of New York City, Laura Wingard of Greenwood, Mary and husband Harriss Cottingham of Greenville, Bennett Wingard of Columbia and Davis Wingard of Greenwood, three great-grandchildren as well as a special friend, Violet Chatos of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. John L. Setzler officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Witt, Jones Buchanan, Bill Adams, Childress Buchanan, Bubba Fennell, Lang Foster, Bubba Harvin and Patton Webb.
Honorary escort will be employees of Wingard’s Pharmacy along with John and Wilma Kirkland, James and Louise Lagrone, Mary Alice Buchanan, Jo Ann Fennell, Rebekah Buchanan, Susan Buchanan, Marvin and Mary Crawford, Earle Purkerson, Darryl Hammond, Jimmy Kirby, Roger Dent, Bob Coleman, Ken Flinchum, Wayne Gantt, John Harrison, Frank Keeter and Jimmy Burns.
The family is at the home of Thomas and Gloria Wingard, 422 Hammond Rd., and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 5 to 7 Monday evening.
The family request that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 501 East Creswell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the charity of one’s choice.

Lillian Dorn Carter
WALHALLA — Lillian Dorn Carter, 95, of 210 Lovingood Ave., widow of Ralph Crayton “Russ” Carter II, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at the Presbyterian Home in Clinton.
A native of Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Elbert Dorn Sr. and Pearl Griffith Dorn. She was a retired teacher of English and Latin, with more than 25 years of service at Walhalla High School. She graduated from Greenwood High School and Winthrop College and did postgraduate studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was the oldest member of The Paul Hayne Circle and a member of Walhalla Presbyterian Church for more than 65 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Annadell Carter of Columbia and Sylvia C. Rumer of Walhalla; four brothers, William Jennings Bryan Dorn and Watson L. Dorn, both of Greenwood, Charlie Dorn of San Jose, Calif., and Griffith B. Dorn of Columbia, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Price C. Cochran of Columbia; and a grandson.
Memorial services are 3 p.m. Friday at Walhalla Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Roy Taylor.
Visitation is 6-8 Thursday at Davenport Funeral Home.

Mary J. Cromer
Mary Joyce Johnson Cromer, 81, of 431 Dogwood Drive, widow of Newton E. Cromer, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at Hospice House of the Upstate, Anderson.
Born in Kinards, she was a daughter of the late George William Ross and Katie Dreher Johnson. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, Kinards, and a 1939 graduate of Clinton High School. She retired from Whitten Center, where she worked in food services, and was previously employed at Hallmark Manufacturing Co., Clinton, for several years.
Survivors include a daughter, Katie Cromer Metts of the home; a grandson of the home, William Cromer Metts; a sister, Nell Johnson Livingston of Easley; a brother, Mayer L. Johnson of Columbia.
Services are 3 p.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry, conducted by the Rev. Dan Hodge. Burial is in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation is 2-2:45 Thursday at the funeral home.

EDGEFIELD — Elizabeth B. Curry, 75, formerly of Cambridge Apartments, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Rawlins Moody
WARE SHOALS — Rawlins P. Moody, 68, widower of Joyce Tumblin Moody, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greensboro, Ga., he was a son of the late Evis D. and Alice Mae Cunningham Moody. He retired from G.F. Tolly Furniture Co., Williamston, and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tony Moody of Ware Shoals; two brothers, Bill Moody of Arnoldsville, Ga., and John M. Whitman of Thompson, Ga.; two sisters, Pansy Anthony and Emma Aaron, both of Lexington, Ga.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services are noon Thursday at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Rod Carver and Gerald Crawford. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are J.D. Kerr, Clarence Oulla, Larry Cheshire, George Burton, Zeke Tolly and Jerry Haynes.
Honorary escorts are members of the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.

John H. Scott
ABBEVILLE — John H. Scott, 76, of Anne Maria Nursing Home, North Augusta, widower of Alice Thomas Scott, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Willer and Louise Hunter Scott. He was a retired machine operator of Reelco and a member of Flat Rock A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Alice Thomas, Ruth Ramey and Ernestine Thomas, all of Abbeville; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Richie Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Rufus East, pastor of Mount Clement C.M.E. Church.
Viewing is 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rosa Southerland
Rosa Belle Wilbanks Southerland, 82, of 1420 E. Laurel Ave., widow of John Grover Southerland Sr., died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Lillie Mae Carter Wilbanks. She and her husband were owners of Southerland Grocery Store on Edgefield Street. She was a member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church and the Tabitha Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include a son, John G. Southerland Jr. of Greenwood; a daughter, Millie Southerland of Summerville; two grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Stephen Owens and Wayne Wiggins. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Honorary escorts are members of the Tabitha Sunday School Class of Abney Memorial Baptist Church.
