Sharon S. Wyant
Funeral services for Sharon S. Wyant, age 63, of Wall, were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, at the First Lutheran Church in Wall, with Vicar Monte Dell officiating.
Sharon died Tuesday morning, February 25, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Visitation was held at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Friday.
Interment was 2:00 p.m. Friday at Black Hills National cemetery.
Sharon S. Pierce was born July 21, 1939 in Wall, South Dakota, the daughter Frank and Hazel (Halverson) Pierce.
She was raised on the family ranch north of Creighton, South Dakota. Sharon attended grade school at Squaw Creek School and graduated from Wall High School.
In April 1959, Sharon was united in marriage to LeRoy Wyant.
Sharon worked for the United States Postal Service and other various jobs in Wall. She was a member of Wall Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband LeRoy Wyant of Wall; two daughters Pam Chapman and her husband Mark of Rapid City, and Patty Lanfear of Quinn; five grandchildren Leanna Chapman of Vermillion, Bret Chapman of Rapid City, Ray Craven of Rapid City, Justin Livermont, and Dexter Livermont, both of Quinn; two sisters, Florence Hagel of Flushing, Michigan and Rita Danielson of Broadus, Montana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Pat Lurz; and one brother Frankie Pierce.

Nancy M. Yelkin, age 81, of Wall, formerly of Britton, South Dakota, died Monday January 13, 2003, at her residence in Wall
Visitation was held at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the Price Funeral Home in Britton from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, at the Price Funeral Home in Britton, South Dakota, with Pastor Sara Sorensen officiating.
Interment was in the Britton cemetery, Britton, South Dakota.
Nancy M. Rider was born July 11, 1921, in Kennan, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Myrtle (Heacock) Rider.
She grew up on a farm near Kennan, and received her education in that area. As a young lady, she made her home with her aunt in Michigan. In 1939, she moved to Britton, South Dakota.
She was united in marriage to Herman Yelkin on May 24, 1940, in Britton, South Dakota.
They made their home in Britton all their married life.
After her husband Herman's death in 1985, she moved to Wall, South Dakota, to be near her daughter Myrtle.
Nancy enjoyed the outdoors, and was very fond of fishing, especially ice fishing.
Survivors include her son Roger Yelkin and his wife Cora of St. Paul, Minnesota; her daughter Myrtle Weifenbach of Wall; two grandchildren Bruce Yelkin and his wife Ingrid of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Barb Geyphe of St. Paul; nine great-grandchildren, Matt, Jamie, Nicholas, Crystal, John Jr., Clair, Micheala, Alania, and Paul; two great-great-grandchildren Ashley and Miya; three brothers, Charles Rider of Newaygo, Michigan, Jim Rider of Scottville, Michigan, and Raymond Rider of Hastings, Michigan; two sisters, Martha Thompson of Hastings, Michigan, and Mayme Buckallew of Portage, Michigan.
In addition to her husband Herman, Nancy was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ellen in infancy; one granddaughter Beverly Cameron; her parents; one brother Frank; and one sister Ruth.

Blanche Laurene Young
age 86 of Philip, SD formerly of Beardsley and Morris, MN, died February 14, 2008, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Blanche Laurene Young’s life began on August 24, 1921, in Moorhead, Minnesota, a blessing to her parents Adolph and Amanda (Mattson) Rosenfeldt of Sabin, Minnesota.
Blanche was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1934. She attended rural school District #9 and Trinity Lutheran Day School, all in Sabin, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota. Her father’s early death required Blanche to leave home and start working at various jobs to help support the family. These early life-changing experiences influenced her to become the strong and independent woman that Blanche was known to be.
As a private and reserved woman, Blanche served as a quiet Christian example as reflected in her love of everyday life. Blanche and her husband Lee, were united in marriage on November 15, 1958, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville, Minnesota. They spent their entire lives together in their farming operation near Beardsley, Minnesota. Lee passed away in 1992. In recent years Blanche also enjoyed her home in Morris, Minnesota. She especially enjoyed gardening, bird watching, animals of all types, and many family pets. She very thoughtfully captured the beauty around her through her interest in photography.
Blanche was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills as she enjoyed preparing meals and treats for family, friends, and neighbors. Visitors were known to arrive unannounced around lunch or meal times.
Blanche’s inspirational Christian faith as witnessed throughout her life continues to bring peace and comfort to her surviving daughters, Pam Guichard of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Sheila Olson and son-in-law Kent Olson of Philip, SD.
Surviving nieces and nephews include: God-daughter Patricia (Curtis) Jones of Truman, MN, Bill Rosenfeldt of Bloomville, Ohio, Jon (Diane) Rosenfeldt of Glyndon, MN, Penni (Daryl) Osmundson of Ames, IA, Dan (Julie) Rosenfeldt of Moorhead, MN, Tom (Lu) Rosenfeldt of Mason City, IA, Diana (Larry) Seifert of Dumont, Minnesota, Debby (Steve) Stotesbery of Graceville, MN, Terry (Jean) Hoppe of Graceville, MN, Greg (Kathy) Hoppe of Graceville, MN, and Sheri (Vic) Braun of Rosholt, SD.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband H. Lee Young; her parents Amanda (Mattson) and Adolph Rosenfeldt; mother and father-in-law Vera and Henry Young; brother Harry Rosenfeldt and his wife Myrtle; sister Marian Hoppe; and a nephew Kim Rosenfeldt.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota, officiated by Pastor David Fleischmann.
Private family interment will be at the Beardsley Community cemetery in Beardsley, Minnesota.
The family requests in recognition of Blanche’s life-long membership in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod that memorials be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota, or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Home of Philip.

Irwin Howard Young, better know as "Howard" to his family and friends, was born January 19, 1914, on his parent's farm-ranch located on White Willow Creek southeast of Philip, the second of six children born to Milton and Iola Bertha (Peterson) Young.
He grew up on the farm-ranch attending Willow Creek grade school. He then attended Nowlin High School for two years before graduating from Philip High School in 1932.
Howard was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 19, 1942 and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1945 as a Tech-5. While in the Army, Howard was a radio operator and also a Thompson sub-machine gun expert. He served in the following battles and campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He received the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal and four overseas service bars.
After leaving the service he worked for his uncle, Ben Young, on his ranch at Ft. Pierre, South Dakota for several years before joining his brother Hollis, and his mother, who had purchased the original property as well as surrounding lands. Howard purchased the Guy Solberg property and farmground on Southcreek and land homesteaded by Uncle Charlie Young. Howard and Hollis farmed together and in 1954 won the Certificate of Achievement for soil conservation from the Committee on Agriculture, Greater South Dakota Association.
After his brother Hollis's death in 1992, Howard continued to live on the farm-ranch until health reasons forced him into the Philip Nursing Home in October 1994, where he has since resided.
Howard served as Jackson County Assessor and was past-president of the Farmers Union.
Grateful for having shared his life are three sisters Ilene Handley of Rapid City, Inez Bingham of Escondido, California, and Iola Luckham of Escondido, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Hollis and Benjamin Harris Young.
Irwin Howard Young, age 89, of Philip, died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at the Philip Nursing Home.
Visitation was held 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Jim Cissell officiating.
Interment was in the Kadoka cemetery.

Frederick Zebroski
age 54 of Lander, Wyoming, formerly of Philip, died December 13, 2007, in Lander, Wyoming.
Frederick John Zebroski was born July, 8th 1953, the son of Raymond and Frances (Weischedel) Zebroski, in Pierre, SD. The family worked a ranch north of Cottonwood, SD until moving to Philip when Fred was in the 6th grade. He attended Philip High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He met his future wife, Ruth Nelson, during these years and after graduation in 1971 they were married in Philip on August, 25th 1971.
Fred and Ruth moved to Brookings, SD to attend college at South Dakota State University where Fred studied forestry for three years. They moved to Minneapolis, MN where Ruth finished her nursing, while Fred worked in sales. In 1975, they returned to Philip where Fred worked for West Central Industrial and Farmer’s Union Oil.
Fred and Ruth had three children; Ryan born in 1972, Jeremy born in 1977, and Jessica in 1981. The family moved to Lander, WY in 1977. Fred worked in the mining industry for 4 years before starting a construction business, Zebroski Construction. He took great pride in his carpentry and used the business to teach his children the importance of a honest day’s work. All three children spent their summers working with their dad, mostly doing concrete and roofing jobs. Fred had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran several other successful business ventures in Lander. In 1987 and 1988 Fred and Ruth outfitted in the Wind Rivers as Middle Fork Packing. In 1996, Fred and Ruth opened Popo Agie Women’s Clinic together. Fred was the business manager for the clinic and enjoyed running both the medical and construction businesses allowing him to spend time with Ruth and the children. Prior to his death Fred and his son-in-law Ryan were starting up a furniture company called Wyoming Aspen Products.
Fred’s commitment to the community of Lander was evident through his volunteerism to Lander Rural Fire department for 10 years, refereeing and coaching youth soccer for over 20 years, and his support of youth and high school athletics. Fred loved hunting and fishing in the Wind Rivers, and boating in Alaska.
Frederick is survived by his wife Ruth Zebroski and three children; Ryan and his wife Giselle Zebroski of Bangkok, Thailand, Jeremy and his wife Jessica Zebroski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Jessica and her husband Ryan Blake of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two grandchildren Landis Zebroski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mattheus Zebroski of Bangkok, Thailand; two brothers Larry and his wife Dixie Zebroski of Gettysburg, South Dakota; and Charlie and his wife Sharyn Zebroski of Rapid City, South Dakota; four sisters LaVon and her husband Tony Nemec of Gillette, Wyoming, Peggy and her husband Byron Parsons of Milesville, South Dakota, Cindy and her husband Kevin Pfeifle of Philip, South Dakota, and Christi and her husband John Weber of Rapid City, South Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his wife’s family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Frances Zebroski, and nephew Jake Pfeifle.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th, at the Lander Community Center in Lander, Wyoming.
Visitation was held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at the United Church in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Mark Ford and Pastor Scott MacNaughton officiating.
Interment will be in the Masonic cemetery, Philip.
Local arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Home of Philip.

Ruth E. Woodall, age 89, of Belle Fourche, formerly of Philip, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Ruth Elizabeth Streeter Woodall, was born January 26, 1918, at Lake Preston to Harry N. and Mary Alice (Houlihan) Streeter. She grew up in Lake Preston, graduated from Lake Preston High School, the Eastern Normal School in Madison and attended Northern State and Black Hills State College.
As a young woman Ruth was a school teacher in DeSmet and Iroquois.
Ruth was united in marriage to Wayne "Woody" Woodall on May 2, 1945, in Rochester, MN. In 1946, the couple made their home in Belle Fourche. Ruth was a rural school teacher at the White School outside of Belle Fourche and then opened a private kindergarten in their home in Belle.
In 1964, the couple moved to Philip, where they owned and operated W.E. Woodall Funeral Home. In 1967, they built the Kadoka chapel, and in 1968, they purchased the funeral home in Wall. In 1970, they built the present funeral home in Wall. While in Philip, Ruth taught kindergarten in the Philip school system, helped Woody with the funeral business, and was active in church activities at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
After retiring on January 1, 1985, Ruth and Woody moved back to Belle Fourche. Ruth was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, the Ladies Alter Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, BPW, and Inquiry Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Noziska and her husband, Howard, Chaska, MN, Janice Evans, Rapid City, and Gerry Renner, Black Hawk: five grandchildren, Kathy McGillivray and her husband, Jim, Lynd, MN, Kris Westin, and her husband Dan, Richfield, MN, Julie Larive, and her husband Ian, Vacaville, CA, Wayne Evans, Chicago IL,, Nate Evans, Rapid City, four great grandchildren (The Greats), and numerous friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, "Woody", parents, one sister, Fern, and two infant siblings.
Visitation was held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip.
Visitation continued on Thursday, September 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche, with Father Tim Hoag as celebrant.
Interment was in the Pine Slope cemetery, Belle Fourche.
A memorial is established.
Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
