LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Linda S. Hanson, 45, of Rickman, will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston.
Burial will be in Fellowship cemetery.
Family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 4, from noon until time of services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hanson died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Jimmy E. McMillan
GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Jimmy E. McMillan, 77, of Gainesboro, will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial cemetery.
Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 3-9 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mr. McMillan died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Anna Lee Duncan
GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Anna Lee Duncan, 83, will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. EST in Greenville.
Miss Duncan died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Masters Care Center in Algood.

Ricky Joe Williams
COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Ricky Joe Williams, 51, of Cookeville, will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial cemetery.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 3, from noon-8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 4, from 7 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 20, 1958, in Putnam County to Betty Jo Williams of Cookeville and the late Otis Williams.
Mr. Williams was an aircraft mechanic in Osnate, Mich., and was of the Church of God faith. He was a good fisherman and an animal lover.
In addition to his mother, his family includes three sons, Ricky Jr., Steven and Randall Williams, all of Michigan; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry M. and Reva Williams of Double Springs and David, Danny and Tommy Williams, all of Cookeville; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his father, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Tone and Louanne Williams, and their baby.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Rev. Kenneth Steven will officiate the services.
Jesse Allen Ray Sr.
COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Jesse Allen Ray Sr., 85, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
Burial with military honors will be in Phillips cemetery.
Mr. Ray died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Putnam County to the late John and Lillie Freeman Ray.
Mr. Ray was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and the Faithful Few Sunday School class. During World War II, he was in the Army Air Corps and served in Iwo Jima.
Mr. Ray spent more than 60 years in the grocery business. Upon his return to Cookeville after World War II, he began working with his father, John Ray, at Ray's Grocery on South Jefferson Avenue. After his father's death, Mr. Ray and his wife, Ann, continued to operate the store until it closed in 1992. After the family store was closed, Mr. Ray worked at Food Town and then Northside IGA until he retired in 2007.
He lived an active, healthy live until his unexpected death.
His family includes his wife of almost 63 years, Anna L. Powell Ray of Cookeville (whom he married
Sept. 21, 1946); two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Susan Ray and Gary and Anita Ray of Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Kerry Pharris of Cookeville and Susan and Lee Chaffin of Smyrna; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shirley and Owen Plank of Athens, Ga., Audrey and Ray Bullington of Knoxville and Evelyn Stewart of Blue Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren, Amy Ray, Stacy Chaffin, Adam Pharris and wife Sheri, Eric Ray and wife Laura and Alicia Sheumaker and husband Jonathan; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Elsie and Annabel Sheumaker.
Memorial donations may be made to the Stevens Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 327 W. Stevens St., Cookeville, TN 38501.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Ray's nephews.
Dr. Jimmy Arms will officiate the services.
Charlene Spurlock Hix
GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Charlene Spurlock Hix, 80, of Cookeville, were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 3, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial was in New Salem cemetery.
Mrs. Hix died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in Masters Health Care Center in Algood.
She was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Jackson County to the late Doctor Jordan and Ethel Bilbrey Spurlock.
Mrs. Hix was a health care worker. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ and a long time member of New Salem Church of Christ.
Her family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Robert Ramsey and Carolyn and Tommy Copeland, all of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Robert Douglas Ramsey and Benjamin Thomas and Samuel Jordan Copeland, all of Cookeville; two nieces, Nancy Kile and Virginia Potts; a great-nephew, Tony Pharris; and a great-niece, Lee Anne Dennis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Douglas Hix, who died May 2, 1976 (married
April 3, 1950); a brother and sister-in-law, Marshall E. and Irene Spurlock; and a sister, Nell Fowler Gibson.
Bros. Jimmy Anderson and Doyle Wilmoth officiated at the services.

He was born April 16, 1931, in Cookeville to the late William Haskell and Minnie Bell Lewis Newman.
Mr. Newman worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Revenue. He was a member of the Jaycees, Woodmen of the World Club, a 53-year member of Al Menah, a 32nd Degree Mason and an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.
His family includes his wife, Betty Sue Newman of Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jayne and Richard Barns Jr. of Cookeville and Angela and Danny Trisdale of Hermitage; a sister, Elizabeth Newman; six grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Kim Duff Barns, Jason Barns, Jeff and Robin Morgan, Jennifer Morgan, Jody Trisdale and Nathan Thompson; and a great-grandchild, Laci Nicole Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Richard Jr., Chris and Jason Barns, Jeff Morgan, Jodie Trisdale, Phillip and Bobby Newman, Larry Brown and Nathan Thompson.
