Carl (T.M.) Hickerson
Funeral services for Carl (T.M.) Hickerson, 77, were 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. George Rye officiating. Interment
followed in the Williams cemetery.
Mr. Hickerson, a retired construction ironworker, welder by trade, died Thursday, March 11, 2004 in National Health Care Center in Dickson. He was a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church in Nashville.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys Neblett Hickerson of Nashville; his five sons, Charles Hickerson of Gilbert, S.C., Jerry Hickerson, Barry Hickerson and Mike Hickerson, all of Nashville and James Gerry Hickerson of Dickson; one daughter, Melissa Ann Rockey of Dickson; one sister, Anna Belle Head of Nashville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Matthew Hickerson and Louella Jones Hickerson, his sons, Larry Hickerson and Wendell Hickerson and a daughter, Barbara Hickerson Jenna.
David Dwight Holland
Funeral services for David Dwight Holland, 38, are incomplete. Dickson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Holland of White Bluff died Monday, March 15, 2002. He was a security officer with Tennessee Patrol and Security.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy S. Holland of White Bluff; son, Clayton Dwight Holland of White Bluff; daughter, Amber Michele Holland of White Bluff; father, James Dwight Holland of Hermitage; mother, Charlene Stewart of Smithville; brother, Jeffrey Lynn Holland of Mt. Juliet; sister, Mary Stewart of Smithville; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Massey and Duard and Opal Holland.
Cheryl Kay Perkins McGraw
Cheryl Kay Perkins McGraw, 57, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Her remains were cremated. No visitation and no service is planned at this time. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Brett Williams, Centerville; mother, Marjorie Perkins of Bon Aqua; and two brothers, Kenny Perkins of Nashville and Terry Perkins of Bon Aqua.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Douglas McGraw and her father, William Wray Perkins.
Christine Cratty Miller
Funeral services for Christine Cratty Miller, 85, will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Catharine Regen officiating. Burial will follow in Dickson Union cemetery. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Miller, a mother and homemaker, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Cumberland Furnace. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Garland Miller and his wife, Alida, of Kennesaw, Ga.; four daughters, Barbara Miller of Stayton, Ann Frogge of Germantown, Susan Welchance and her husband, Donnie, of Murfreesboro, and Judith Stewart and her husband, Jimmy, of Charlotte; sister, Lucille Osburn of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, William June Cratty of Dickson, and Robert N. Cratty of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Barry Stewart, Jennifer Edwards, Garland Miller II and San Butler; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Miller, and her parents, Robert L. Cratty and Ilma Hudson Cratty.

Doris Jean Murray
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jean Murray, 86, were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 at McDonald Funeral Home in Dickson, with Robert Torango officiating. Interment
followed at Hilltop cemetery located in Lyles, Tenn.
Mrs. Murray, of Lyles, Tenn., was born on Sept. 8, 1917 in Davison, Mich. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Caldman Willett and the late Anna May Sifton Willett. She died on March 12, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Dodson of Lyles, Tenn. and Jean Servin of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Raymond Carl Murray of Macomb Co. Mich.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and her brother, Raymond Willett of Rose City, Mich.
Rose Edna Murrell
Rose Edna (Rains) Murrell, 94, of Johnson City, formerly of San Antonio, died March 14, 2004.
Funeral services were 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Croft’s Funeral Home in Johnson City. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Billie Murrell, and her eight brothers and sisters.
Murrell was an Army wife who made a home for her family whether it was in hotel rooms or a multi-storied villa. During World War II, while her husband served in North Africa and Italy for almost four years, she raised their son, Jack, and contributed to the war effort to the degree possible. She was a good neighbor to all and always had a soft spot in her heart for children and people down on their luck.
Murrell is survived by her son, Jack, and his wife, Jane, of Johnson City; two grandsons, William and his fiancé, Stella, Gregory and his wife, Shanna, both of Kingsland, Texas; and a great-granddaughter, Noel. She’s also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews primarily in Tennessee, Michigan, Colorado, California and Texas.

Charlene Binkley Sugg
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlene Binkley Sugg, 57, were 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Roy West and Rev. Phil Ross officiating. Interment
followed in Dickson Union cemetery.
Mrs. Sugg, former secretary with Met-Life Insurance Company, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 in Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of Dickson First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Charles Edward Sugg of Burns; two daughters, Amy Lee Lawrence and her husband, Tony of Paris, Tenn. and Yachtney Pauline Sugg of Burns; two sisters, Josephine Russo of Bellevue and Pauline Bracey of Greenbrier, Tenn.; one grandson, Hunter Brian Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. (Bill) Sugg and her parents, Charles Houston Binkley and Ruby Pauline Glover Binkley. Those desiring, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Dickson Senior Center Homemaker Program.
Dorothy Jean Tucker

Mrs. Tucker of Fairview, died on March 11, 2004 at her residence. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Davidson Co. Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Fate Tucker of Fairview; several nieces and nephews; several daughters and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Andrew and Sue Elizabeth Curtis Hutchison, and brother, Charles Hutchison.
Magdalene Winstead
Funeral services for Ms. Magdalene Winstead, 70, were 1 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 in the chapel of Spann Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Don Smith officiating. Cremation to follow.
Ms. Winstead of Dickson, died on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center.
Survivors include her companion, John A. Winstead of McEwen; her daughter, Donna and husband Jeffrey Barrow of Medina, Ohio; two grandchildren, Rachael Needham and Payton Barrow, both of Ohio.
Mrs. Winstead was preceded in death by a son, Don Hobbins.
Marion Everette Womble Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Marion Everette Womble Jr., 78, were 11 a.m. Tuesday March 2, 2004 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tenn., with graveside services following on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Woodlawn cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn. Arrangements were handled by Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah, Tenn.
Mr. Womble died on Feb. 29, 2004 at Tri-County Convalescent Home in Adamsville, Tenn. He was born on August 20, 1925 in Hickman County. He is the son of the late Marion Everette Womble, Sr. and the late Stella Hickman Womble. He was an electrical engineer for Bellsouth for 40 years. He was a member and served as deacon of Hopewell Baptist Church and served in the Radio Section in the 1st Marine Division in WWII where he was stationed in Pavuvu, Okinawa, Guadalcanal and China. He served as President of Kiwanis International and was a past State President of the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Parks Womble of Savannah, Tenn.; daughter, Robin Parrish, Savannah, Tenn.; sons, Gary Womble of Maryville, Tenn. and Hal Womble of Grayson, Ga.; brother, Don Womble and wife, Evelyn of Dickson; sisters, Peggy and husband, Andy Wolsey of Kansas City and Betty Overton of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Tadd Womble.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Reed Anderson, 42, of Bon Aqua, are 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home. Brother Edward Meek will officiating. Burial will follow in Stuart cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at home. He was a construction worker. His parents, Paul and Ora B. Anderson, and a sister, Carlene Joy Anderson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter, Jessie Renae Anderson, of Bon Aqua; three brothers, Wilton Anderson, and his wife, Sandra, of Burns, Hulon Anderson, of Bon Aqua, Randall Anderson, of White Bluff; three sisters, Linda Faye Klein, and her husband, Norman, Ann Lynch, and her husband, Richard, of Dickson, Wilma Conatser, and her husband, Charlie, of Cunningham, Tenn.
Jesse Elias Bates
Private funeral services for Mr. Jesse Elias Bates, 24, were conducted at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.
Mr. Bates, a male nurse, was born in Nashville. He died Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
Survivors include his parents, Dwight and Ann Bates of Dickson; his grandmother, Nina Potter of Columbia; his great-grandmother, Leona Davis of Dickson; and several aunts and uncles.
