Lola Ann Hope Donovan
Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Ann Hope Donovan, 40, of Nashville were noon Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Bethesda Original Church of God in Nashville with Bishop George W. Price Jr. officiating. Interment icon followed in East Dickson cemetery. Services were under the direction of Gardner Memorial Chapel in Nashville.
Mrs. Donovan died Sunday, June 13, 2004. She was a native of Dickson County. She was the daughter of Robert L. Nichols and the late Margaret L. Nichols. She was educated in the Dickson County school system and received her business certificate at Nashville OIC Community College. She was a member of Bethesda Original Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Donovan of Nashville; daughter, Charasma (Ronald) Moseley of Nashville; sons, Ronald E. Smotherman Jr. of Clifton, Ched Reese and Kenneth Smotherman, both of Nashville; grandsons, Karon and Corey Moseley, both of Nashville; father, Robert L. Nichols; sisters, Margaret Sanders, Virginia (Larry) Russell and Minister Brenda (Joe) Thompson, all of Dickson; brothers, Robert S. Nichols of Tampa, Fla., David (Tiffany) Nichols and Charles H. Nichols, both of Dickson, and Fred J. (Pat) Nichols of Only; grandmother, Estella Nichols of Nashville; mother-in-law, Theolinda Donovan of Carrot Bay, Tortola British Virgin Islands; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jason Vincent Lupo
Graveside services for Mr. Jason Vincent Lupo, 23, were 3 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004 at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Services were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Lupo, an employee at Palmyra Nursing Home, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Trinity Hospital in Erin.
Survivors include his mother, Jeannie O. Lupo Gries of Erin; father, Frank James Lupo of Detroit, Mich.; brother, Richard Keith Wilkerson of Detroit, Mich.; and uncle, Lonnie Osborne of Tennessee Ridge.

Charles Douglas Owens
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Douglas Owens, 51, of Murray, Ky., were 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Luther officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Service was under the direction of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray and Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.
Mr. Owens died Friday, June 18, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Owens was born in Highland Park, Mich., and a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray.
Survivors are his parents, Marion C. (Jack) and Beulah Luther Owens of Murray, Ky.; two brothers, Marion Rodney Owens of Columbus, Ohio, and Dickie Myatt and his wife, Nancy, of Dickson.

Madeline Lummus Rifenbark
Funeral services for Mrs. Madeline Lummus Rifenbark, 86, of Charlotte were 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Falls officiating. Interment icon followed in Southside cemetery.
Mrs. Rifenbark, a retired sales clerk, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center. A native of Cheatham County, she was a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Sondra Blackford of Charlotte and Jacqueline Brock of Charlotte; brother, Thomas Lummus of Grand Rivers, Ky.; grandchildren, Jacqueline Elston and her husband, Chuck, Neil Brock and Harold (Hoss) Brock; great-grandchildren, Casey Brock and Billie Jean Hill; special family members, Patti Unkel and Charlie Unkel; and 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Van Ernest and Grace Aderhold Lummus; brother, Ernest Lummus; and sisters, Corrine Lummus Sellick and Sue Lummus.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

John Henry Searcy
Funeral services for Mr. John Henry “Buster” Searcy were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bill Joyce officiating. Interment icon followed in Memory Gardens in Hickman County.
Mr. Searcy, 51, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. Born in Pensacola, Fla., he was operator of Middle Tennessee Lumber. He was a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Fay Wood Searcy of Dickson; three sons, John Sanders, Joshua Lee Searcy and Buster Dewayne Searcy, all of Dickson; four sisters, Panzy Morris, Patricia Miller, Jacqueline Milstead and Rose Searcy, all of Pensacola, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
A son, James Franklin Sanders, and his parents, Lee and Kate Mae Booker Searcy, preceded him in death.

Ricky William Sugg
Funeral services for Mr. Ricky William Sugg, 44, were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sugg, a sheet metal installer with International Brotherhood of Sheetmetal Mechanics, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 in Stewart County. He was also the owner of Pet Plus in Dickson.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Largent Sugg of Dickson; son, Barrett Sugg of Dickson; daughter, McKenzie Sugg of Dickson; mother, Claudine Stinson Drueke of Dickson; brother, Marshall Sugg of Franklin; grandmother, Lucille Moss of Lyles; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Waymon Williams.

Cathey Melissa Bishop Tidwell
Funeral services for Cathey Melissa Bishop Tidwell were held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Joel Plunkett officiating. Interment icon was in Dugan cemetery.
Mrs. Tidwell, 43, died at her home Saturday, June 19, 2004. She was a restaurant waitress and a member of the County Line Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Jean Roberts of Dickson; father and step-mother Jesse and Gloria Bishop of Dickson; brothers, Gary Bishop of Pensacola, Fla., Ron Bishop of Rancho Rio, N.M., and Tim Bishop of Marietta, Ga.; step-brother, Ricky Shear of Daphney, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Jean Cavender Bishop.

Wanda Sue DeLoach
Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Sue DeLoach, 57, are 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday.
Mrs. DeLoach of Charlotte was born December 6, 1946 in Stewart County. She died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at her residence. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph DeLoach of Charlotte; sons, Mitchell Birdwell of Charlotte, Shane Baggett of Dickson, Shannon DeLoach of Dickson and Devin Tyler DeLoach of Charlotte; daughters, Kimberly Payne of Pleasant View, Dannielle Conquest of Dickson and Nikki DeLoach of Charlotte; sisters, Shirley Mohon, Kathy Lee Trainer, Gerty Heflin and Joyce Maples, all of Clarksville, Haley Boyle and Nancy Austin, both of Dover; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola Hutchison Heflin; son, Mark Damien DeLoach; and brothers, James Edward Heflin, Grady Dallas Heflin, Ralph Heflin Jr., James Dallas Heflin, Alvin Heflin and Joe Heflin.

Linda Kay Hall
Memorial services for Mrs. Linda Kay Hall, 45, are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home. Her remains will be cremated.
Mrs. Hall of Dickson died Tuesday, June 15, 2004. She was a member of Dickson First Assembly of God and Peggy Reynolds Cancer Group, a regular attendee at Camp Bluebird in Nashville and co-founder of Coverall Rental in Dickson.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Maryann and Robert Leland of Dickson; father and stepmother, Edward and Brenda Atchison of Dickson; brother, Gary Atchison of Baton Rogue, La.; other brothers and sisters include Darlene, Vicki, Loretta, Shawn, Delanie, Jonathan, Ronald Leland, Barbara, Wanda and Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James Harland Kirby
Funeral services for Mr. James Harland Kirby, 54, were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Chatham and Bro. Wingo officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Kirby; son, Dwayne Kirby; daughter, Mary Kirby and husband, Michael Piper; grandchildren, Sandra Kay Kirby, Logan Piper and Taylor Piper; mother-in-law, Mary Louella Mosley; sisters, Ann Irwin and husband, Jerry, Sheila Pewitt and husband, Paul, and Linda Hatcher and husband, Gene; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dana Moran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Kirby and Mary Jane Fox Kirby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Place, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Bernice McGee Lerch
Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice “Bernie” V. McGee Lerch, 75, are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 from First Baptist Church in Dickson with Frank Whitaker, Dr. Jim Chatham and Dr. Don McCoy officiating. Interment icon will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements handled by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lerch, born in McKeesport, Pa., to the late Paul and Bernice F. Hanes McGee, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Dickson.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Lerch of White Bluff; two sons, Martin Paul Lerch of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Dan S. Lerch of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Laurie E. Kerr of White Bluff; brother, Paul McGee of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, JoAnn Freano of Dickson, Joy Quinley of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ellen Shoenbeck of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 18 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home and Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m. until time of service at Dickson First Baptist Church.

Helen Marie Smith
Funeral services for Ms. Helen Marie Smith, 69, are 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Bill McDonald officiating. Interment icon will follow in Nickell cemetery in Centerville.
Ms. Smith of Centerville was born Feb. 10, 1935 in Nunnelly. She died June 15, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward Blocker and Lillie Mai Bishop. She was a certified nurses technician at Baptist Hickman Nursing Home.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Paty of Dickson, Barbara Bates, Cindy Smith and Connie Bragg, all of Centerville; son, Harry C. Vaughn Jr. of Centerville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lewis Blocker of Nunnelly, Clarence Edward Blocker of Centerville, George Blocker of Nunnelly, James Blocker of Centerville; sisters, Ann Dotson of Cottontown and Betty Rosson of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Harriett Fitzpatrick.
