Dorothy Pauline Parish Scott

McKENZIE - Services for Dorothy Pauline Parish Scott, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Interment icon followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Scott, a homemaker, died Tuesday, April 26, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born February 22, 1930, in Dollar, to the late James Frank Parish and Pauline Ray Parish.
Survivors include two sons: John Scott of Jackson and Jack Scott of McKenzie; three daughters: Judy Berryhill, Jan Brake and JoAnna Hampton, all of McKenzie; 12 grandchildren: Kim Chandler, Jennifer Berryhill, Richie Berryhill, Shelby Scott, Brian Scott, Scott Schweitzer, Kelsey Schweitzer, Jaimie Hilliard, Elizabeth Scott, Kelly Hampton, Jacob Scott and Joey Scott; and seven great-grandchildren: Natalie Chandler, Brennan McCuiston, Preston Adams, Avery Adams, Olivia Scott, Ethan Scott and Rachel Scott.

Cloie Barnhill
1926-2005
PARIS - Services for Cloie Evelyn Barnhill, 79, were conduced at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Roy Stinson officiating. Interment icon followed in Shady Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Barnhill died Monday, April 25, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
She was born August 2, 1926, in Henry, to the late Huell and May Chilcutt Williams. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.W. Barnhill; two sons: Jerry Barnhill and Timothy Barnhill, both of Paris; one brother, Chester Williams of Paris; seven grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Wilma Snow and Norma Dillard, and three brothers: Theron, Verlin and Baxter Williams.

Cindy Milam Brown
1965-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Cindy Milam Brown, 40, were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Bodkin Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Hillcrest cemetery in Paris.
Mrs. Brown, a retired employee of Delta Faucets, died Thursday, April 28.
Survivors include her husband, Neil Brown; her mother, Sally Holland of Paris; one stepson, Dawson Brown of McKenzie; one stepdaughter, Cammy Brown of McKenzie; one brother, Donald Milam of Paris; and one sister, Brinda Wilson of Paris.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Milam.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Cancer Care Center of Jackson.

Jessie L. Donald
1953-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Jessie L. Donald, 51, were conducted Tuesday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home East Room. Interment icon followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Mr. Donald died Thursday, April 28, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two special friends, George Johnson, Jr. and Tony Burlison, and several friends from Carroll County Hope Center and Easter Seals.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kevin Ray Gurley
1970-2005
BEECH BLUFF: Services for Kevin Ray Gurley, 34, were conducted Friday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marshall Gurley officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mr. Gurley died Tuesday, April 26, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born September 18, 1970, in Jackson. He was a supervisor for the ARJ Press Company and had served in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Ann Gurley.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Oren Ray Gurley and Norma Gurley of Huntingdon; his mother and stepfather, Betty Marie Corley and Mark Corley of Texarkana, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Carroll of McKenzie; and one brother, Kemp Gurley of Huntingdon.

Billy Curtis
1931-2005
McKENZIE - Billy Curtis, 74, died Sunday, November 27, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, November 30, at 2:00 p.m., at Everett's Chapel cemetery in McKenzie. Brummitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Curtis was born April 20, 1931, in Weakley County, to the late Elbert and Evelyn Kennon Curtis. He was retired from the city of McKenzie Street Department and owner of the Gulf Service Station.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Stubblefield Curtis, of McKenzie.

Laverne Jarrett
1922-2005
CLARKSBURG - Laverne Jarrett, 83, died Friday, November 25, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were conducted November 27 at the Clarksburg Church of Christ with Brother Martin Klamm and Brother Bill Crossno officiating. Interment icon followed in the Sellers Hill cemetery. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Jarrett was born August 22, 1922, to the late James Leon and Ruby Orr Dickerson. She was retired from Clarksburg School and was a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Dickerson Jarrett, and two sisters, Dorothy Noles and Virginia Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, A.D. Jarrett and one daughter, Janice Lewis, both of Clarksburg, and two grandchildren.

Jo Ina Forbess
1921-2005
HUNTINGDON - Jo Ina Forbess, 84, died Friday, November 25, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Services were conducted November 28 in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery. Rev. Dosie Wheatley, Dr. Paul Mullikin, and Dr. William P. Bailey, Jr. officiated the service.
Mrs. Forbess was born September 17, 1921, in Carroll County, to the late Joseph Newton Kirk and Lou Manie (Vickers) Kirk. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Forbess, who died January 18, 2004, and one brother, Harold Kirk. She was a tired nurse's assistant for the Carroll County Hospital, and a member of the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church, the afternoon circle group, and the Eastern Star chapter #180.
She is survived by one son, Larry (Betty) Forbess of Huntingdon; one brother, Wayne (Lynn) Vickers Kirk of Lavinia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Estes Kizer
1938-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Charles Ester Kizer, 67, of Hollow Rock, died Friday, November 25, at his home. Services were conducted Sunday, November 27, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Crossroads cemetery in Benton County. Bro. James Daniels and Bro. Steve Davis officiated the service.
Mr. Kizer was born June 16, 1938, in Henderson County, to the late Joseph Woodrow Kizer and Hazel Marie (Finch) Kizer. He was a retired track repairman for the CSX Railroad Company, an alderman for the town of Hollow Rock, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bruceton.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Cole) Kizer, whom he married December 22, 1972; three daughters: Melissa (Peter) Hughes of Camden, Cheryl (DeWayne) Pickering of Paducah, Kentucky, and Kimberly Holland; two sisters, Betty (Billy) Johnson of Bruceton, Sue (Bob) DiProva of Alpharetta, Georgia; one brother, Jim (Jan) Kizer of Union City; and four grandchildren.

Robert Edward McDaniel
1930-2005
McKENZIE - Robert Edward McDaniel, 74, died Friday, November 25, at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center. Services were conducted November 28 at Brummitt Funeral Home chapel. Interment icon followed in Hopewell cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. McDaniel was born September 22, 1930, in Henry, to the late Robert and Ora Elizabeth Smith McDaniel. He was retired from the city of McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley June Sawyers McDaniel of McKenzie; two sons, Michael Edward McDaniel and Mark Ray McDaniel, both of McKenzie; one daughter, Marsha Lynn Hatley of Gleason; one brother, Guy McDaniel of Wynburg, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Thomas Ray Morris
1933-2005
GLEASON - Thomas Ray Morris, 72, died Thursday, November 24, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were conducted November 27 at Gleason First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Jeffers officiating. Interment icon followed in Hopewell cemetery. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Morris was born June 6, 1933, in Gleason, to Hughlon Allen and Georgie Jewel Brawner Morris. He was the owner of Gleason Superette.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Berry Morris of Gleason; two sons, Mike Morris of Gleason and Steven Morris of Nashville; one daughter, Laurie Morris of Gleason; one brother, Gordon Morris of Sharon; two sisters, June Cook and Evelyn Tucker, both of McKenzie; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Billy Joe Blaylock
1938-2005
GLEASON - Billy Joe Blaylock, 67, died Sunday, November 27, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services will be Wednesday, November 30, at 2:00 p.m., at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Gleason with Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Interment icon will follow in Caledonia cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Blaylock, a retired environmental coordinator, was born July 14, 1938, in McKenzie, to the late Horace Gordon and Thelma Lois Wheat Blaylock. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church and a Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Babb Blaylock of McKenzie; one son, Jeff Blaylock of McKenzie; one daughter, Angie Adams of Gleason; one sister, June Mull of Union City; and four grandchildren.

Opal Virginia Simmons Taylor
1911-2005
GLEASON - Opal Virginia Simmons Taylor, 94, died Monday, November 14, at McKenzie Health Care. Services were conducted November 16 at Gleason First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernie King officiating. Interment icon was in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor was the widow of Ira Aden Taylor. She is survived by three sons: Jim (Dell) Taylor and Jerome (Gloria) Taylor, both of Gleason, and Gene (Sandra) Taylor of Moscow, Tennessee; two daughters: Geraldine Taylor of Saginaw, Michigan and Sandra Kae (Donald) McMackin of Huntingdon; one sister, Gladys Penick of Martin; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was a W.S. Wormser factory employee for 20 years and a member of Alamo Baptist Church in Rives.
She was born in Kenton to the late Rev. Charlie Melvin and Betsy Mae Chapple Simmons.
