Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Iris Coleman Traywick
1923-2005
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA: Services for Iris Coleman Traywick, 81, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in McLemoresville cemetery.
Mrs. Traywick, a homemaker, died Monday, January 17, at her residence.
She was born September 19, 1923, to the late Mattie Barker Coleman and Jamie Samuel Coleman.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Martha Troutman, of Paducah, Kentucky and Lyn Vess and Freda Browning, both of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, Gordon Coleman of McKenzie and Horace Ray Coleman of Huntingdon; a sister, Ray Wilodean Coleman of Huntingdon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe David Traywick, and a brother, Billy Coleman.

Calvin Thomas Allen
1925-2005
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: World War II Navy veteran Calvin Thomas Allen, 79, died Tuesday, January 18, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Mr. Allen was a native of Obion County. He moved to Paducah in 1951 after being discharged from the Korean conflict. He was a retired cement mason.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Mae Morris Allen; a daughter, Julia Yvonne Allen Mustion; a granddaughter, Shannan Dawn Winnett Griggs; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah-Marie Dawn Griggs. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, John William Allen and Julia Bell Reynolds Allen, and ten siblings.
McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Howard C. Cooper
1937-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Mr. Howard C. Cooper, 67, of Hollow Rock, died Thursday, January 20, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock. Arzell Douglas officiated the service.
Mr. Cooper was born August 27, 1937, in Carroll County, to the late William Doye Cooper and Euphia Gladys (Crews) Cooper. He was a retired factory worker for the Henry I. Siegel Company, an avid fisherman, and loved playing baseball and many other sports. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Lou (Allen) Cooper; a daughter, Susan Jean Montgomery of Lexington; a son, Randy Lynn Cooper of Camden; a sister, Barbara (Elvis) Melton of Huntingdon; a brother, Weldon Cooper of Hollow Rock; and four grandchildren.

Alan Jeffrey "Jeff" Parker
CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA - Former Henry Countian, Alan Jeffrey Parker, 51, of Cape Coral, Fla., died December 30 after a long bout with cancer.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at First Baptist Church in Paris, where he was a member.
Parker was the son of Robert W. and Charleene Parker of McKenzie.
He was a graduate of Henry County High School and Murray State University.
At the time of death, he was employed with AFSM (Association for Services Management) International in Fort Myers, Florida.
He had served as district executive for the West Tennessee Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. After moving to Florida in 1984, he was senior district executive with BSA's South West Florida Council at Fort Myers.
In addition to his parents, he leaves a brother, Joe R. Parker of Virginia.
The family requests memorials be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Florida, 33908, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara Jean Andres
1929-2005
PARIS - Barbara Jean Andres, 76, died Wednesday, January 19, at Henry County Medical Center.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Born, Jan 1, 1929, in Floral Park, New York, she was the daughter of Joseph Ralph Hamilton and Thelma Gatje Hamilton.
She was married on June 14, 1949, to William Wilcott Andres, Jr., who died July 2, 2002.
Mrs. Andres was a homemaker. She was a member of the Congressional Church in Milburn, Michigan, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary,
She leaves four sons; William Jeff (Carla) Andres, Donald Wayne (Lidia) Andres and Michael Lee (Kellie) Andres, all of Henry, and Scott Andres of Paris; one daughter, Candace (Charles) Diemer of Driftwood, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Hamilton Andres.

RICHARD (BUTCH) TAYLOR
1959-2007
TREZEVANT - Richard (Butch) Taylor, 47, died Monday, January 15, at his residence. Funeral services were Thursday, January 18, at 1 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with burial in Wilders cemetery in Big Buck community.
Mr. Taylor was born September 26, 1959 to the late Chester Taylor, Jr. and Lottie Ruth Reeves Taylor.
Survivors include: a special friend, Debbie Harris of McLemoresville; two daughters, LaTasha (Adam) Crocker of Milan and Krystal Taylor of Huntingdon; one son, Ryan Taylor of Gibson; one brother, Ronnie (Tracy) Taylor of McKenzie; one half brother, Donald Taylor of Leach; one sister, Charlotte Dailey of McKenzie; and three grandchildren, Madison Crocker, Benjamin Crocker and Dylan Taylor.

CHARLES LUTHER MCCULLAR
1927-2007
GLEASON - Charles Luther McCullar, 79, died Monday, January 15, at his home. Funeral services were Thursday, January 18, at 2 p.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Tumbling Creek cemetery.
Mr. McCullar was born April 15, 1927 in Sidonia to the late Elmer D. and Ollie B. (King) McCullar. He was a production foreman at Gaines Furniture in McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn McCullar, and one brother, J.B. McCullar.
Survivors include: one daughter, Charlene Snider of Gleason; one sister, Gladys Barham of Memphis; two brothers, Jimmy McCullar of Selmer, and Robert McCullar of Martin; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

REBA SLOAN WINTERS
HUNTINGDON - Reba Sloan Winters, 81, died Monday, January 15, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were Thursday, January 18, at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel at 1 p.m. Burial followed at Oakview Memory Gardens in Bells, TN.

ELIZABETH THOMASON HALL
MEMPHIS - Elizabeth Thomason Hall, 65, formerly of Huntingdon, died Sunday, January 14, in Delta Medical Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, January 16, at 1 p.m. at St. Lukes United Methodist Church with burial in Mt. Comfort cemetery in Carroll County.
Survivors include: three sons, John Richard (Karen) Hall of Memphis, Gregory Thomas (Sharon) Todd of Houston, Texas and James Bowlin (Colleen) Hall of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and three grandchildren.
Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden was in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM ARTHUR CHISM
1928-2007
HUNTINGDON - William Arthur Chism, 78, died Friday, January 19, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, January 22, at 1 p.m. at New Independence Church with Bro. Wayne Tidwell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Chism was born April 5, 1928 in Clinton, Arkansas to the late Earl Ernest and Amanda Emerson Chism. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ruby Forthman; and his stepmother, Palmer McCowen Chism.
Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Iona Douglas Chism; five daughters, Sue Bullington of Huntingdon, Loretta Johnson of Tomkana, Oklahoma, Amanda Hills of Olathe, Kansas, Linda Newton of Trezevant, and Valerie Riddle of Cedar Grove; four sons, William Earl "Sonny" Chism of Pensacola, Florida, Willard Chism of Colwich, Kansas, Donald Chism of Huntingdon, and Matt Chism of Chanutc, Kansas; one sister, Ruth Chism of Morrilton, Arkansas; one brother, Opie Chism of Morrilton, Arkansas; thirty-one grandchildren and seventy-two great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

EARNEST "TEX" "BUD" UMSTEAD
1927-2008
McKENZIE - Earnest "Tex" "Bud" Umstead, 80, died Wednesday, May 14, at McKenzie Healthcare Center. Funeral services were Friday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with burial in Concord cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Umstead was born October 30, 1927 in Camden to the late Henry Paul Umstead and Myrtle Allen Umstead. He was retired from Carroll County Highway Department and a preacher. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Umstead.
Survivors include: his wife, Frances Coleman Umstead of McKenzie; one son, Earnest Lee (Tina) Umstead II of McKenzie; one daughter, Mary Kay Umstead Mitchell of Paris; three brothers, Neal Umstead of McKenzie, Wray Umstead and Bobby Umstead, both of Huntingdon; three sisters, Pearl Winchester of Memphis, Alice Chappell of Gleason and Shirley Brewer of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

RICHARD "DICK" BAYLESS, SR.
1928-2008
BRUCETON - Richard "Dick" Bayless, Sr., 80, died Thursday, May 15, at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial followed in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock. Masonic rites were held on Friday, May 16.
Mr. Bayless was born January 19, 1928 in Bruceton to the late Henry Porter Bayless, Sr. and Edith Taylor Bayless. He was a boilermaker for Local #455 and a member of the Bruceton First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy as a deep sea diver. He was a member of the Hollow Rock VFW Post #4349, Hollow Rock Masonic Lodge #288, Bruceton Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter #314, Bruceton Lion's Club, Memphis Scottish Rite, Al Chymia Shrine, and he was a charter member and entertainment chairman of the Carroll County Shrine Mounted Patrol. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Hurt Bayless; and one son, Richard Bayless, Jr.
Survivors include: two daughters, Major Roselle Bayless of Murfreesboro and Susan (Bob) Bouldin of McKenzie; one sister, Jennie Moore of Virginia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

WILLIE LEON ROGERS
1943-2008
McKENZIE - Willie Leon Rogers, 64, died Wednesday, May 14, at Jackson Regional Hospital. His wish was to be cremated and to have a private service with no visitation.
Mr. Rogers was born October 13, 1943 to the late William Julious and Eunice Leon Sasser Rogers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Evelyn Swain.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Kubes Rogers; four daughters, Cindy (Leon) Mayberry of Cedar Grove, Carinna Lynn Rogers of McKenzie, Mary Beth (Joe) Ada of Lasacassas, and Billie Jo (Shannon) Hardwick of McKenzie; five sisters, Gertie Virginia Gilliam, Rachel Corinne (Jim) Murphy, Eva LaVern (Kenneth) Spicer, Cornelia Ann Walker and Martha Nell (Michael) Dowdy; two brothers, Floyd Ray (Mary) Rogers and Roy (Karen) Rogers; eight grandchildren, Bobby Dale Birdwell, Jr, Zachary Brett Butler, Taylor Rae Mattson, Faith Ada, Grace Ada, Dylan Ada, William Alexander Raspa and Jack Raymond Hardwick; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Michelle Birdwell; and several nieces and nephews.
