Willodean (Dean) Orr Fenner

McKENZIE - Services for Willodean (Dean) Orr Fenner, 67, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9 at Liberty Methodist church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Fenner, a homemaker, died on Saturday, December 7 at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born on October 17, 1935 in McKenzie to the late Bela Britton Sutton and Homer Sutton. She was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Fenner; a daughter, Becky Orr Eason of McKenzie; two sons, Ronnie Orr of McKenzie and Tony Orr of Springville; two sisters, Georgia Powell and Shirley Pace, both of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Brad Eason of Jackson, Stephen Eason and Mary Orr, both of McKenzie; and one great-grandchild, Amber Eason of McKenzie.
Her first husband, Murray William Orr and a brother, Thomas Williams preceded her in death.

Charlie Clayborn Gatlin
1911-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Charlie Clayborn Gatlin, 91, died on Monday, December 2 at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Simmons officiating. Interment icon followed in McAuley cemetery.
Mr. Gatlin was born September 7, 1911 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late John Thomas and Sara Jane Adams Gatlin. He was a retired employee of the American Label Company and the Caterpillar Company. A daughter, Sandra Kay Magel and a sister, Lorene Coffman preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Irene Williams Gatlin; three daughters, Ollie Wallace and Catherine Sharpe, both of Paragould, Arkansas and Selma Reno of St. Charles, Missouri; five sons, Kenneth Gatlin, Darrell Gatlin, Charles Gatlin and Bill Gatlin, all of Paragould, Arkansas and Claborn Gatlin of Cedar Grove; 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

James W. Jackson
1924-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Funeral services for James W. Jackson, 78, were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10 at Bodkin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, near Cedar Grove.
Mr. Jackson, a retired employee of the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, died on December 7 at his residence. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Verlan Jackson of Cedar Grove, two sons, Keith Jackson of Cedar Grove and Mark Jackson of Humboldt; four sisters, Helen Courtney of Milan, Elizabeth Eason of Lexington, Rachel Williams of Dresden and Ruby Hamrick of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two brothers, Cecil Jackson of Atwood and Glenn Jackson of Lexington and four grandchildren.
A sister, Perlie Smith and two brothers, Ray Jackson and Howard Jackson preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Johnnie 'Bonnie' Bernell Marise
1935-2002
McLEMORESVILLE - Mrs. Johnnie 'Bonnie' Bernell Marise, 67, died on Tuesday, December 3 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ray Wade officiating. Interment icon followed at the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Marise was born February 17, 1935 in Hardeman County to the late Johnnie Charles and Fannie Mae Ervin Cooksey. She was a retired employee of ITT in Milan and attended church at the Leach Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Marise; five daughters, Beverly Kay Banks of Spring Creek; Brenda Fay McKinley of Dresden, Judy Carol Moore, Patricia Faye Smith and Cynthia Jane Marise, all of McKenzie; four sons, Danny Harold Goodman of McKenzie, Randy Howard Marise and Gary Lee Marise, both of McLemoresville, and Hershel Eugene Marise of Savannah; one sister, Dorothy Hodge of Covington; one nephew; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Martha Hicks Leach
1910-2002
ATWOOD - Services for Mrs. Martha Hicks Leach, 92, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. Burial was in the Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Leach a retired employee of the Milan Army Ammunition Plant died on Wednesday, December 4 at the Milan General Hospital.
She was a member of the Atwood Church of Christ and retired senior volunteer program.
Memorials or contributions may be made to the Atwood Church of Christ.
She was the widow of Ben E. Leach.

Bessie Lee McLeod
1916-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Bessie Lee Page McLeod, 86, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Conquest officiating. Burial was in the Tumbling Creek cemetery in Gleason. Her husband, Marvin McLeod and a son, Guy Adren Page, a sister, Verna Barlow and a brother, Robert Arnold preceded her in death.
Mrs. McLeod, retired from HIS in Gleason and a homemaker, died on Friday, December 6.
She was born March 17, 1916 in Gleason to the late Eron Adell Travis Arnold and Lonnie Guy Arnold. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include two daughters, Rubye Scott of Henry and Peggy McCuiston of McKenzie; a son, Ralph Jeter Page of Milledgeville; a special friend, Otis Bateman; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Anthony Houston Warbritton
1961-2002
NEW JOHNSONVILLE: Mr. Anthony Houston Warbritton, 1941, died on Wednesday, December 4, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 6 at 3:30 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Dodd officiating. Interment icon followed in the Hampton cemetery.
Mr. Warbritton was born on March 16, 1961 in Huntingdon. He was self-employed and a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church. His mother, Moetta Reeves Warbritton preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father, Jerry Warbritton of New Johnsonville; two sisters, Teresa Towater of New Johnsonville and Lisa Fuller of Clarksburg; and one brother, Jerry Dale Warbritton of New Johnsonville.

Alton Edgar Weatherford
1907-2002
CLARKSBURG - Mr. Alton Edgar Weatherford, 95, died of heart failure on December 4. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, December 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the County Line Baptist Church with Brother Randal Woods officiating. Interment icon followed at the Beech River cemetery near Lexington.
Mr. Weatherford was a retired farmer and sawmill owner. He was born in Decatur County on August 24, 1907, son of the late John Franklin and Lucy Edna Patterson
Weatherford. He moved to Henderson County in 1923 and to Carroll County in 1943. He attended the County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Ruby Frances Goff Weatherford; one sister, Alma Stack of Springville; four daughters, Faye Morris of Jackson, Dorothy Jean Wilkes of Savannah, Emma Ruth Hopper of Camden, and Charlotte Tucker of Huntingdon; two sons, Charles Weatherford of Clarksburg and Jim Weatherford of Jackson; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

William Edward "Bill" Rush
1951-2002
McKENZIE - Mr. William Edward "Bill" Rush, 51, died on Wednesday, November 27 at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Memorial services were conducted on Saturday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m. in the East Visitation Room of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Bill Goodpasture officiating.
Mr. Rush was born on November 4, 1951 in Huntingdon. He was a self-employed truck driver. His father, James Lawrence Rush, a sister, Mary Sue LaRose and a brother, James Rush preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Rush of Hazel Park, Michigan; his mother, Hattie Rush of McKenzie; his companion, Sandra Barker of McKenzie and a sister, Mildred Kay Pushman of Woodhaven, Michigan.

Francis Bernard "Frank" Gurschick
1954-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Francis Bernard "Frank" Gurschick, 48, died on Friday, November 29 at his home. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel cemetery with Brother Wayne Gurschick officiating.
Mr. Gurschick was born on February 22, 1954 in Maine to the late John and Gladys St. Cyr Gurschick. He was a Wal-Mart associate.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheyanne Gurschick of Bingham, Maine and Alison Gurschick of Cedar Grove; two sons, Francis Gurschick II of South Windham, Maine and Samuel Gurschick of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Janet Deheitre, Raphael Bragg and Amy Hovey, all of Turner, Maine; four brothers, John Gurschick, Jr. of Cedar Grove, and Fritz Gurschick, Gary Gurschick and Wayne Gurschick, all of Turner Maine and one granddaughter.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ricky Cottingham Cooley
1963-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Ricky Cottingham Cooley, 39, died on Wednesday, November 27 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lloyd Ray Rich officiating. Interment icon followed in the Christian Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Cooley was born October 23, 1963 in Jones County, Mississippi. He was an electrician for the Hornsby Electric Company, an army veteran and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Bruceton.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Cooley, his mother and stepfather, Janet and Dorman M. Cottingham of Hollow Rock; two stepdaughters, Megan Gooch and Adriene Gooch; one stepson, Alan Gooch, Jr., all of Huntingdon; one sister, Heather Hill of Humboldt; and two brothers, David Cottingham of Hollow Rock and Chris Cottingham of Jackson.

Henry "Doc" Holladay
1924-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Henry "Doc" Holladay, 78, died on Wednesday, November 27 at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Barger officiating. Interment icon followed in the Ferguson cemetery in Cedar Grove.
Mr. Holladay was born on August 18, 1924 in Carroll County to the late Ernest and Algie Crider Holladay. He was a retired factory worker for Ceco Door Products in Milan, a farmer, an avid rabbit hunter, a member of the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church and a World War II veteran. Three brothers, James Holladay, Audrain Holladay and Holbert Laws and two sisters, Inell Sanders and Mozell Williams preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Tines Holladay; three sons, Michael Dee Holladay of Medina, Billy Steven Holladay and Bobby Gordon Holladay, both of Cedar Grove; one brother, Gordon Holladay of Bruceton and seven grandchildren.

Rachel Jordan
1923-2002
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Rachel Jordan, 79, were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 2 at Prospect Baptist Church with the Revs. James Daniel and David Bayer officiating. Interment icon was in Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Jordan, a retired cashier for F.W. Woolworth, died on Friday, November 29 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on April 29, 1923 in Hollow Rock to the late Clarence and Ruby Mae Campbell Bennett. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances White of Titusville, Florida and Pat Skwarek of Plano, Texas; four sisters, Sadie Brown of Highland Park, Michigan and Juanite Green, Brooxie Brinkley and Jean McMackin, all of Hollow Rock; a brother, Lee Bennett of Hollow Rock, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
