Tommie Lou Watts, 87, of Sharon, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at Summit Medical Center. Funeral services for Ms. Watts were held Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Corinth cemetery. Richard Thomas officiated the services.
Ms. Watts was a homemaker. She was born August 16, 1921 in Weakley County.
Ms. Watts is survived by two daughters, Judith Neibert of Arlington, Texas, and Wanda (Donald) Quimby of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; a son, Rick (Lauri) Watts of Nashville; a sister, Vivian Baity of Goreville, Illinois; three brothers, Harold David (Jane) Stephens of Ohio, Hubert (Joy) Stephens of Martin, and James Terrell Stephens of Dresden; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Willease Price Dick

Willease Price Dick, 81, of Martin, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Funeral services for Mrs. Dick were held Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side cemetery in Martin. Bro. Steve Blake officiated the services.
Mrs. Dick was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was born December 12, 1927 in White County, Kentucky to the late Louie Price and Lillian Franks Price. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dick was also preceded in death by her husband, Elvis L. Dick.
Mrs. Dick is survived by a son, Joe Dick of Jackson, Mississippi; a daughter, Patricia Stauffer of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren, Kathryn Dick, Ryan Stauffer, and Michelle Stauffer; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Stauffer and Jullian Stauffer.

Elease Davis

Elease Davis, 78, of Sharon, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Alamo cemetery in Rives. Bro. Don Bowlin officiated the services.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker. She was born September 2, 1930 in Obion County. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Davis; and a son, Dannie Davis.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a son, Gregory Davis of Sharon; five daughters, Betty Baldridge of Lake Station, Indiana, Janice Davis of Sharon, Anita Lucas of Martin, Charlotte Moore of Sharon, and Reba Purcell of Empire, Alabama; a sister, Wanda Bassinger of Evansville, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Rebecca Mabel Reed

Rebecca Mabel Reed, 88, of Martin, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Reed were held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side cemetery in Martin. Rev. David Brown and Rev. Mike Sams officiated the services.
Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was born November 17, 1920 in Buna Vista, Tennessee to the late Martin Giles Bowers and Eva Gay Kee Bowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John S. Reed.
Mrs. Reed is survived by a son, Dr. Steve (Suzanne) Reed of Woodbury, Tennessee; a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca (Allen) Hanks of Gallatin, Tennessee; a sister, Clara Lee (Paul) Noles of Bruceton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Scott Charles Boyd

Scott Charles Boyd, 45, of Mayfield, Kentucky, formerly of Fulton and South Fulton, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. Funeral services for Mr. Boyd were held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial followed in Cuba cemetery in Cuba, Kentucky. Bro. Will McSweeney officiated the services.
Mr. Boyd was an employee of the J.U. Kevil Center in Mayfield and attended Smith Street Church of Christ in South Fulton. He was born September 8, 1963 in Graves County to the late William and Hattie Lou (Cochrum) Shelton Boyd.
Mr. Boyd is survived by three half-sisters and brothers-in-law, Zadonna and Doug Rial of Greenfield, Ranice Jane and Donnie Charlton of Wingo, Kentucky, and Margaret and Howard Lawrence of Fulton; two half-brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip and Claudette Shelton of Union City, and John Wayne and Robbie Boyd of South Fulton; six nieces; and five nephews.

Shirley Mae Scott

Shirley Mae Scott, 70, of Martin, died Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Scott will be held today, Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at 12:00 noon at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Martin. Burial will follow in Parham cemetery in Martin.
Mrs. Scott was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Martin. She had retired from the University of Tennessee at Martin in the food services department. Mrs. Scott was born December 10, 1938 in Fayette County, Tennessee, to the late Arthur and Lillie (Lockridge) Whitthorne. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was also preceded in death by three brothers, Mike Whitthorne, Claudale Burrow, and Marvin Burrow.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, George Scott, Sr. of Martin; three sons and two daughters-in-law, George D. and Brenda Scott of Wildsville, Tennessee, Tony and Sherrie Scott of Martin, and Anthony Scott of Martin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jessie Mae and William Bland of Gary, Indiana, and Katherine Tatum of Memphis; and a brother, Joseph Whitthorne of Cleveland, Ohio.

Virgie Estelle Hooper Goodlow

Virgie Estelle Hooper Goodlow, 83, of Dresden, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Goodlow were held Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Jerry Powell officiated the services.
Mrs. Goodlow was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was born in Bay, Arkansas to the late James and Maude Henry Hooper. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goodlow was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Eumos Duane Goodlow; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Mrs. Goodlow is survived by two daughters, Pam Mast of Dresden, and Dona (Larry) Warden of Dresden; two sons, Greg (Pat) Goodlow of Dresden, and Edward (Alyson) Goodlow of Cottage Grove; a brother, Phil (Sue) Hooper of Cordova, Alabama; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Barbara Sue Nevil

Barbara Sue Nevil, 58, of Greenfield, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home. Memorial services for Mrs. Nevil were held Monday, April 20, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Bro. Dewayne Thomas officiated the services.
Mrs. Nevil was an Environmental Services Employee for Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Martin. Mrs. Nevil was born in Lambert, Mississippi to the late Bill and Ima Jean White Reese. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nevil was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Branham; and her stepfather, Ralph Barker.
Mrs. Nevil is survived by her husband, Mr. Allen Nevil of Paris; a son, Jason Nevil of Gleason; a daughter, Alana Nevil of Dresden; stepdaughter, Monica Rockett of Dresden; stepmother, Carolyn Reese of Clarksdale, Mississippi; three sisters, Monica Clark of Memphis, Mary Clark of South Fulton, and Tabitha French of Greenfield; four brothers, Tommy Barker of Dresden, Shan Parks of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Michael Reese of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and Bill Reese of Memphis; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Billy R. Higgs

Billy R. Higgs, 73, of Greenfield, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Graveside services for Mr. Higgs were held Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Highland cemetery. Aaron Jones officiated the services.
Mr. Higgs was a factory worker for Gans Manufacturing. He was born March 9, 1936 in Greenfield to the late Bennie Higgs and Emma Winston.
Mr. Higgs is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Higgs) Pettigrew of Atwood, and Mary Jane Higgs of Wisconsin; three sisters, Justin McMullens of Greenfield, Barbara Finch of Greenfield, and Melvlon Hill of Greenfield; and three brothers, James Higgs of San Antonio, Texas, Jessie Higgs of St. Louis, Missouri, and Bennie J. Higgs of Greenfield.

Donnie Dean Buckley

Donnie Dean Buckley, 62, of Fulton, Kentucky, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Buckley was a member of the Church of Christ and was a United States Army veteran. He was retired from the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he worked in the utility department. Mr. Buckley was born January 11, 1947 in Dresden and had lived in Fulton, Kentucky for the past 3 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Henry Buckley.
Mr. Buckley is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Blackburn) Buckley of Ann Arbor, Michigan; his mother, Dorothy May (Finney) Buckley of South Fulton; a sister, Lorraine "Faye" Uren of Ypsilanti, Michigan; a niece, Cherri Brightwell of Muskegon, Michigan; and a nephew, Barry Uren of Florida.

Hugh Gatewood Dismuke

Hugh Gatewood Dismuke, 80, of Dresden, died Thursday, May 23, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Dismuke were held Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial followed in Olive Branch cemetery. Rev. Gene Price officiated the services.
Mr. Dismuke was a retired supervisor at Dico and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was born May 19, 1928 in Dresden to the late William Ashley Dismuke and Ruth Belle Gatewood Dismuke. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dismuke was also preceded in death by two sons, Barry Dismuke and Sam Dismuke.
Mr. Dismuke is survived by his wife, Willie Lucille Woodard Dismuke; three sons, Mike Dismuke of Chicago, Illinois, Terry Dismuke of Chicago, Illinois, and Hugh Martin Dismuke of Chicago, Illinois; a stepson, Ronnie Winstead of Dresden; a stepdaughter, Robbie Johnson of Gleason; a brother, Jerry Dismuke of Steger, Illinois; and three grandchildren.

Jeanne Baker Pride

Jeanne Baker Pride, 66, died April 25, 2009, at her home. Services for Mrs. Pride will be held Friday, May 1, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Belmont United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pride is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Pride; mother, Craddock Vaughn; son, Wyatt (Vanessa) Wilkinson and their children, Collin, Austin, Charlie and Abby; and daughter, Craddock (John) Butler.
Donations may be made to Gilda's Club Nashville or Alive Hospice.

Luther (Jack) Jackson Jenkins

Luther (Jack) Jackson Jenkins, 68, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Jackson Madison County Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Jenkins were held Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial followed in Brock's cemetery in Greenfield. Jerry Powell, Robert Archie, Kenneth Williams, and Gerry Gallimore officiated the services.
Mr. Jenkins was a maintenance supervisor and attended Gearin's Chapel Church in Greenfield. He was born April 10, 1941 in Greenfield to the late Algie Jenkins and Leatrice Cantrell Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Patsy Jenkins of Greenfield; a daughter, Pam Norwood of Greenfield; a brother, Kenneth (Jeannie) Jenkins of Lebanon; a sister, Marie Hutcherson of Greenfield; and two granddaughters, Alvia Hensley and Kala Allen.

Willard Larry Arnold

Willard Larry Arnold, 66, of Savannah, Tennessee, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Hardin County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Arnold were held Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Tumbling Creek cemetery. Rev. Gene Price officiated the services.
Mr. Arnold was a retired paper hanger and veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Mr. Arnold was born in Lansing, Michigan to the late Richard and Louise (Hunter) Arnold.
Mr. Arnold is survived by two sons, Scott Arnold of Memphis, and Curtis Hayes of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Kelley Shutte of Somerville, Tennessee; his companion, Linda Kay O'Brien; a sister, Joeanne Savage of McKenzie; and six grandchildren.
