Pirlene Hargrove Wright
TREZEVANT - Services for Pirlene Hargrove Wright, 80, were Friday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m., at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Everett's Chapel cemetery in McKenzie.
She died on Monday, August 6 at Crown point, Indiana.
Survivors include two sons Charles Wright and Terry Wright, both of Cedar Lake, Indiana; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Stasson Eron Arnold
HENRY - Services for Stassen Eron Arnold, 50, were Friday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Garvelle officiating. Burial was in McRae's Chapel.
Mr. Arnold, owner and operator of S & S Auto Sales in Henry, died Tuesday, August 7 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1951 in Benton County. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Carver; two daughters, Tammy Constantine of Paris and Shelly Arnold of Henry; two sons, Kris Arnold of Jackson and Jason Arnold of Henry; three sisters, Brenda Stockdale, Kathy Stockdale and Linda Bolin, all of Big Sandy; his parents, Theron Lee and Mildred Lee, both of Big Sandy, and three grandchildren.

James E. Hugueley
GLEASON - Graveside services for Dr. James E. Hugueley, 57, were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, at Walnut Grove cemetery in Rutherford, with Bro. Bob Bennett officiating.
Mr. Hugueley, a retired professor for the University of Memphis, died Monday, August 6 at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center of heart failure.
He was born August 16, 1943 in Humboldt to the late Ervin and Gladys Redding Hugueley. He was a member of Gleason Church of Christ.
Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Hugueley and Bobby Hugueley, both of Gleason; and two sisters, Erma Nell Moody of Gleason and Peggy Matlock of Southaven, Mississippi.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Burnice E. Guill
TRENTON: Funeral services for Mr. Burnice E. Guill, 86, were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9 at Springhill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Guill, a retired automobile tech, passed away, Monday, August 6 at Methodist Healthcare-Central in Memphis of respiratory failure. He was a World War II veteran serving 3' years in the 126th Infantry, 32nd Division in New Guinea and the Philippines and retired from Madison Cadillac in Memphis.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Adams Guill; a daughter, Mary Jo Guill of Trenton; a son, Bruce Hearne Guill of Trenton; a sister, Elizabeth Guill Fagan of Pasadina, Texas and a brother, M. A. Guill of McKenzie.

Roy Milton Butler
BRUCETON - Roy Milton Butler, 57, died Monday, August 13 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Services were incomplete at presstime. Dilday Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dwayne Cloyce Vanalstine
YUMA - Services for Dewayne Cloyice Vanalstine, 55, will be Wednesday, August 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Reed's Chapel in Lexington. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery in Yuma.
Mr. Vanalstine died Saturday, August 11 in Evanston, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vanalstine of Chicago, Illinois; his mother, Viola Vanalstine of Clarksburg; three daughters, Patricia Ann, Amy and Vickie Vanalstine, all of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Dewayne Vanalstine, Jr. and Christopher Vanalstine, both of Chicago; two brothers, Essie Vanalstine of Saltillo and Melvin Vanalstine of Wildersville; three sisters, Leola Swinford of Yuma, Sheila Davis of Chandler, Indiana and Conda Slaton of Clarksburg.

Pauline Meeks
HUNTINGDON - Services for Pauline Meeks, 83, were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20 at First Southern Baptist Church in Springer, Oklahoma, with Rev. Ken Campbell officiating. Burial was in McAlester cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
Mrs. Meeks, a retired clerk for J.C. Penny, Co. Inc., died Monday, December 27 at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon of cancer.
She was born March 13, in Pritchard, Oklahoma to the late Ralph Edward McIntoxh and Ollie Mae Worley McIntosh. She was a member of Springer First Baptist Church and a fifty-year member of Carter County Home Demonstration Club. Her husband, Alva Meeks, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Joy Kilgore of Huntingdon; two sons, Ralph Meeks of Keller, Texas and Steve Meeks of Springer, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lorene Stroud of Lincoln, Nebraska and Alice Rueben of Sulfer, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Esco E. Alexander
BRUCETON - Services for Esco E. Alexander, 85, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Alexander, a retired farmer, died Wednesday, December 19, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. He was born on February 29, 1916 in Decatur County to the late Elvis Lute Alexander and Mauda Dobbins Alexander. He was a member of Bruceton Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Robbie Hancock, and a mother, Mr. Ruble Alexander.
Survivors include four sisters, Bennie Reynolds of Bruceton, Norma Dee Cook of Paris, Vaugen Walp of Camden, and Joan Ballard of Camden.

Billy Walker
TREZEVANT - A memorial service for Mr. Billy Walker, 76, was held in the sanctuary of Republican Grove Missionary Baptist Church on the morning of June 7. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Ervin-Walker, four children: Joyce, Jill, Pat and Jack; eight siblings: Wilodean, Juanita, Faye, Onairy, Peggy, Diane, Darlene, and Bobby; nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Kerrie, Jody, Josh, Nikki, Matt, Toni, Kami, and Andrea; and four great-grandchildren: Ashley, Reilly, Abbey and Shelby.
The midnight blue casket was adorned with a colorful fresh flower spray. "When They Ring the Golden Bells" was played by his granddaughter at the start of the service. Jason Azbell, husband of Mr. Walker's granddaughter, Nikki, led two congregational hymns, "When All of God's Singers Get Home" and "Just a Rose Will Do." His granddaughters, Kerri and Kami, sang a sweet rendition of "It Is Well With My Soul" before the sermon by Bro. Dennis Beal, long-time friend of Mr. Walker. At the close of the service, Bro. Richard Allen, Mr. Walker's pastor, sang "On the Wings of an Angel."
At the gravesite, Mr. Walker received his last Masonic rites. Pallbearers included Mr. Walker's four grandsons, other members of the family and a close friend in the community. A good old-fashioned barbecue followed the service.

Donald M. Ashby
MANSFIELD - Services were conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bill Lambert officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest cemetery.
Ashby, 70, was dead on arrival, Friday morning, June 1 at the Henry County Medical Center emergency room.
Born March 3, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of Clarence and Ruby Pinkston Ashby. He was married October 17, 1953, to the former Bessie Ruth Davis who survives.
Ashby retired after 30 years as a set up instructor with Emerson Electric. He served 40 years in the Army National Guard and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Donna Ashby Wade of Mansfield; three sons, Morris Ashby of McKenzie, Jeffrey Ashby of Hollow Rock and Kent Ashby of Mansfield; one sister, Juanita Gist of Iuka, Mississippi; two brothers, his twin, Dillard Ashby of Lobelville and J. C. Ashby of Winchester; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Ashby.

Robert Powell
MILLINGTON: Services for Robert Powell, 83, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, at First Baptist Church in Trezevant. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery in Trezevant.
Mr. Powell, a retired welder for McAnn Steel of Nashville, died Saturday, June 9 at home of heart failure.
He was born August 17, 1917 in Gibson to the late Maiden Mary Frances Wyatt Powell and William Westley. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
He is survived by his wife, Mary F. Bland Powell of Millington; two daughters, Dean Wyatt of Millington and Brenda Faye Hyder of Paris; four sons, Jerry Thomas Powell of Paris, Sammy Odell Powell of Troy, John Ray Powell of Nashville, and Tommy Robert Powell of Memphis; and one sister, Lavern Argo of Trezevant. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Peggy Poore
UNION CITY - Services for Peggy Jo Poore, 66, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10 at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Sunset cemetery.
Mrs. Poore, a homemaker, died Friday, June 8 at Methodist Volunteer Hospital in Martin of heart failure.
She is survived by her husband, Willie D. Poore of Dresden; two daughters, Karen DeVasier of Union City and Sandra Cravens of Dresden; four stepdaughters, Linda Hussein and Elaine Chandler, both of Dresden, Reba Rodriguez of Gleason and Brenda Poore of Benton, Illinois; a son, Rick J. Butler of Dresden; four stepsons, Wendall and William Poore of McKenzie, Cecil Poore of Jackson, and Wade Poore of Dresden; a sister, Betty Delong of Martin and a brother, Robert E. Lee of Dresden.

Madelyn Webb Smith
JACKSON - Mrs. Madelyn Webb Smith, 78, died Saturday, June 9 at Corinth, Mississippi. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 11 at the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Arzel Douglass officiating. Interment icon followed in Cross Roads cemetery in Camden.
Mrs. Smith was born September 27, 1922 to the late Ernest and Della Cole Webb. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Joetta Dinsmore of Palmyra; one son, Steve Smith of Corinth, Mississippi; two sisters, Mazel Chandler of Memphis and Marie O'Neal of Enville; two brothers, James Webb of Huntingdon and Travis Webb of Tupelo, Mississippi; six grandchildren and seven grandchildren.

Nancy M. Scott
CLARKSBURG - Mrs. Nancy M. Scott, 93, died Sunday, June 10 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 11 at Clarksburg Church of Christ. Interment icon followed in Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Scott was born February 22, 1908 to the late Sid and Willie Mills Douglas in Carroll County. She was preceded in death by one son, John Edward Scott. She was a retired employee of Modern Cleaners and a member of Clarksburg Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Adell Ross of Clarksburg; two sons, Hulon Scott of Mason and Lyndol Scott of Clarksburg; one sister, Opal Gateley of Cedar Grove; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Sarah Mae Singleton
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Sarah Mae Singleton, 70, died Friday, June 8 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 10 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim H. Singleton officiating. Interment icon followed in Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Singleton was born November 7, 1930, to the late Hubert and Gertrude Vick in Carroll County. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Singleton, one brother, Homer Vick and a sister, Ruth Whittmore.
She is survived by one daughter, Janie Wallace of Wildersville; one son, Tommy Singleton of Clarksburg; one brother, R. Lee Vick of Augusta, Georgia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
