Glenn Randolph Palmer, age 63, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2007. He died at his home in Franklin after battling cancer for 2 1/2 years. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Franklin for 40 years. He was a self-employed architect, a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of New Song Christian Fellowship in Brentwood. He is survived by his wife, Nell Elizabeth Russell Palmer of Franklin; a stepson, Dennis Tribble (Teresa); two grandsons, Jesse and Aaron Tribble of Warner Robins, GA; and a brother, Larry Palmer of Greenbriar.
Memorial contributions may be may to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203-9658.

Royce Allen Hill, age 57, of Rockvale died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Franklin. Mr. Hill was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of Emma Chrisman Hill and the late Malachi Melvin Hill. He was a newspaper distributor for the Williamson Herald Newspaper until becoming disabled.
Mr. Hill is survived by a daughter, Regina Herrera; mother Emma Chrisman Hill; sister Wilma Scales; brother Edmond Lee, all of Rockvale; and two grandchildren.

Samuel Dayton Potts, age 49, of Murfreesboro passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was a former employee of Glenco.
Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Doris Parker Potts. He is survived by his father, Hollis Dayton Potts of Rockvale; daughter, Tiffany Potts of Portland, Oregon; brothers, David B. Potts of Rockvale, Carey J. Potts of Kentucky and Wendell C. Potts of Murfreesboro; and sisters, Wanda Johns of Lascassas, Pamela Burns and Paula Riley, both of Murfreesboro.

Ernest C. Carlton, age 86, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Alvin York Veterans Administration Center. He was born in Rockvale and was the son of the late David Crocket Carlton and Lucy Holden Carlton. Mr. Carlton was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II in the South Pacific, a member of the Baptist Church and a retired auto body repairman.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Carlton; two daughters, Patsy Nabors and Judy Hall of Murfreesboro; two sons, William (Susan) Carlton, Woodbury and Ronald (Judy) Carlton, Murfreesboro; two sisters, Margaret Haley and Annie Claire Beech of Nashville; five grandchildren, Melissa Carlton, Stephen Eugene Carlton, Wayne Carlton Jr., Jeremy Bono and Donna Tynes; eight great grandchildren. Mr. Carlton was preceded in death by a son, Robert Carlton who died in 1989 and a grandson, Michael Carter.

Jim Davis, age 71, of Chapel Hill, died Friday, July 27, 2007 in Shelbyville after an extended illness. Mr. Davis was a native of Marshall County and was a son of the late Jimmy Frank and Fannie Morenie Haynes Davis. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Shelbyville and was a farmer.
Mr. Davis is survived by two sisters, Ruby Jett and Bell Trivitt, both of Shelbyville; five brothers, LeRoy Davis, Unionville, Albert Davis, Shelbyville, Raymond Davis, Donelson, Leon Davis, Shelbyville, and John Davis, Kinston, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.

Henry Carson Carroll, Sr., age 85, of Unionville, died Friday, July 20, 2007 in Shelbyville. Mr. Carroll was a native of Imboden, Virginia and a son of the late Ike Tom and Ethel Gibson Carroll. He was a member of the Rover Baptist Church and a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dennie Carroll and by his son, Henry Carson Carroll, Jr.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Perryman Carroll of Unionville; a daughter, Mrs. Delores Chester of Unionville; four brothers, Clinton Carroll, Curtis Carroll, Don Carroll, and Melvin Carroll, all of Virginia; two sisters, Eunice Bishop and Bernice Delp of Virginia; 2 grandchildren.

Mary Ruth Parker Kline, age 77, of Murfreesboro passed away peacefully at her home with her loved ones by her side on Friday, July 20, 2007, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Mrs. Kline and her late husband, Don, owned and operated Kline Drapery for many years in Murfreesboro. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Kline was preceded in death by her husband, Don Kline; parents Walter and Amy Armstrong Parker; son Robert Earl Holland; grandsons Brian King and David L. Holland Jr.; brothers John and Richard Parker; infant twin sisters Alma Jean and Wilma Dean Parker; and former husband Herbert Earl Holland. She is survived by son, David Holland and his wife, Wanda, who was her loving caregiver the last year of her life and son Billy Holland and daughter Jane Lowe, both of Murfreesboro; stepson David Kline of Murfreesboro; grandsons Jason Lowe and Tommy Holland of Murfreesboro; brother Bill Parker of Michigan; sisters Christine Verk of Ohio, Annie Vaughn of Eagleville and Audrey Pegg of McMinnville, Yvonne Abshire and Margaret Pinion, both of Ky.; stepgrandchildren Phillip, Vanessa and Mary Johnson of Murfreesboro; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

E. Wayne Henry, Jr, age 84, of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia he was a resident of Murfreesboro for 26 years. Mr. Henry was a retired mining engineer with the United States Steel Company and a member of the Christiana Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth Wayne and Mildred Rhodes Henry. He is survived by his wife, Milly Henry of Murfreesboro; daughter Karen (Phil) Scott of Germantown; grandsons, Christopher Scott of Linthicum, MD and David Scott of Germantown.

Mary Jane Isom McDonald, age 73, of McKenzie, Tenn. died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She was a native of of Eagleville and the daughter of the late William Edward and Ellen Isom.
She is survived by a brother, Billy Gene (Wanda) Isom of Killen, Alabama; a sister, Helen (Leland) Kizer of Bartlett; 1 niece; 5 nephews; and, several great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (Mac) McDonald.
Mrs. McDonald was born in 1933 on the family farm in rural Rocky Glade community of Eagleville, where she graduated from high school. After completing business college in Nashville, she worked there several years as a secretary, where she met and married Raymond "Mac" McDonald. They lived in Nashville and Houston, Texas, and retired to Mac’s hometown of McKenzie in the 1970’s. Following Mac’s death, she continue to lived there for the next 28 years.

Clemence M. Dyott, age 82 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, July 14, 2007. She was a native of St. Tite, Quebec, Canada and the daughter of the late Joseph Arthur and Pamela Rancourt Bellemare.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn M. and Larry A. Sargent of Murfreesboro, Linda Lee and Larry R. Smotherman, Jr. of Rockvale; grandchildren, PV2 Clark B. Sargent, Caleb H. Sargent and Jessie L. Sargent; step grandchildren, Wesley B. (Mindy) Sargent and Tracy M. Sargent; step great grandchildren, Cole W. Sargent and Kora K. Sargent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno E. Dyott. Mrs. Dyott was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church.

Billie Williamson, 72, of Unionville died Monday, July 9, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Christiana, a farmer and a member of Fosterville Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Nicholas "Nick" and Allie Dean Jeanette Williamson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annie Weaver Williamson; daughters, Betty Fuller of Shelbyville and Linda Christian of Unionville; son, Terry Williamson of Christiana; brothers, Raymond Williamson of Christiana and Curtis "Mac" Williamson of Manchester; sisters, Judy Rose of Christiana and Polly Goodbar of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lois Westbrooks, age 91, of Unionville died Monday, July 9, 2007, at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center.
She was born February 5, 1916, in Rutherford County, to the late Horace Greeley Smotherman and Alice Virginia Smotherman. She was a homemaker and member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wesbrooks was married to William Woodard Westbrooks on January 19, 1936 until his death on April 9, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Dean Westbrooks, on November 24, 2001.
She is survived by a brother, Ellis Smotherman of Murfreesboro; a sister, Nora May Crick of Rover community; four grandchildren, Steve Westbrooks, Allen Westbrooks, Wendy Nelson, and Denise Wilson; and four great grandchildren, Carleigh Westbrooks, Trenton Westbrooks, Hayden Polston, and Hunter Wilson.

Paul Thomas, age 66, of College Grove, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at his home in College Grove.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Dale & Ethel Tucker Thomas; brother, Marvin O. Thomas; and sister, Mary E. Owens.
He is survived by a daughter, Angie Moran of College Grove; son, Gary B. Thomas of Murfreesboro; sister, Linda M. Thomas; brothers, James E. Thomas, Cecil K. Thomas, and Grady A. Thomas; four grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
